Volume 2: Corpse in Yin Mountain Chapter 11: Ghost Pressing Down on the Bed
"What's Tianmen? What does it mean?" Shi Tou asked in puzzlement.
"I explained that 'Tianmen and Duanlongshi are almost the same, both use giant stones to seal the door, but Duanlongshi can be excavated, while Tianmen cannot. Even if one stone is excavated, new stones will immediately fall down to block it again.' As I said this, I suddenly gasped in shock, and stared at the stone, saying 'I was originally puzzled that there are both mummies and corpse children here, clearly a living sacrifice, but also a naked burial without any funeral objects. Living sacrifices and naked burials should not coexist, as living sacrifices defy heaven and accumulate yin energy, bringing disaster to descendants. Funeral objects follow the earth and gather good fortune, and can alleviate yin energy, but the tomb owner did not use them. Now I finally understand, he was not sacrificing people, but sacrificing the door, sacrificing Tianmen.'"
"Heh heh," Shi Tou said with a smile, "Does the Gate still need sacrifices?"
"Of course," I chuckled and continued, "the Tianmen is also called the Forbidden Gate, very few people know how to design it. Of course, even if they do know, probably no one dares to use it, I've only heard that Qin Shi Huang's mausoleum uses the Tianmen, nothing else has been mentioned. There's a lot to say about this place!"
"Then there's no way to open it?" Shi Tou asked, I glanced at the Tian Men and nodded solemnly.
"Let's hurry up and go! The corpse will float over soon." Reminded by Shi Tou, I suddenly remembered that when I saw the Tian Men earlier, I was so excited that I forgot about the disgusting corpse. I hastily agreed, "Let's go, try to rush back to the Zhong Ru Shi first." I used my foot to push off the cave wall and swam back.
Two minutes later, I stopped and stared at the dark floating corpses in front of me with a black face. My heart sank to the bottom. Passing through the group of floating corpses was enough to make people unbearable, let alone there were more disgusting insects on them.
The stone was waved in the flashlight and scolded: "Damn it, what's going on?"
My heart is also difficult to decide, if I pass through the floating corpse group, whether or not to resurrect is secondary, I'm afraid that the insects on the corpse will crawl onto my body. The corpses all have corpse poison, these parasites make a living by eating rotting flesh, it goes without saying that they must be toxic. If I sink, I'm also afraid of the water's adsorption force. Looking at the floating corpses getting closer and closer, the deep-set eye sockets, the dry skin, the small insects crawling around, I understand too, I can't hesitate anymore.
With a sudden clench of his fist, he said "Stone, dive underwater and let the floating corpses drift by first," then immediately reminded him to "be careful of the suction force underwater." After finishing speaking, he hastily dove into the water. The suction force underwater still existed, but there was no time to worry about that now. I looked up and saw the floating corpse drifting by on the surface of the water. In my heart, I secretly calculated when all the corpses would drift by, so Stone and I could float back up to the surface.
At this moment, I suddenly felt a chill run down my spine, and my body felt a wave of coldness. A sense of drowsiness surged up to my head, and my eyelids slowly closed. Although I was in the water, it felt as if I had been carrying dozens of kilograms of heavy stones on my back, slowly sinking to the bottom. Although my mind was clear about everything, I couldn't move at all. It was as if my entire body had sunk into an endless darkness, with no sound or sensation left. Lonely, terrifying, and desolate. Damn it! I cursed silently in my heart, and a thrilling feeling surged up like a tidal wave, making the hairs on my skin stand upright. This is "ghost pressing down"!
"Ghost pressing bed," usually happens at dawn when I haven't gotten out of bed, everything is clear, but my eyes can't open, that's the precursor to "ghost pressing bed". Although I know what's going on, there's nothing I can do about it. In fact, it's simple, just need strong light or some peach wood to ward off evil spirits, and I can wake up. I don't know how long has passed, but I feel like I'm really falling asleep, already completely sinking to the bottom of the water, choking on several mouthfuls of water. Just as my consciousness is about to disappear, suddenly I feel my collar being grabbed, and a force lifts me upwards.
Light, dazzlingly bright light, shone on my eyes, even with them closed, I could feel a scorching, fiery pain, and clearly sense the sweat beads being squeezed out of my pores, as if trying to burst open my body. Suddenly, all my energy seemed to be drained away at once, just like I was fainting. My heart skipped a beat, my fingers twitched a few times, and slowly, I opened my eyes, never realizing that opening them could bring such joy.
"What's wrong? Why are you still dazed? If I hadn't found you in time, you would have ended up here." Shi Tou looked at me tensely.
Coughing, I spat out several mouthfuls of black water, my nose and eyes streaming with tears, a foul smell in my mouth that made me feel extremely nauseous. But what shocked me the most was that this smell seemed to have existed deep within my mind all along. Panting heavily, I took a few deep breaths, calmed down slightly, and said, "I've been pressed by a ghost."
"Nightmare?" Stone's eyebrows furrowed, he understood this too, and cautiously looked around before muttering "This is indeed quite ominous." After that, he led me towards the stalactite, which was already not far away. My energy had been almost completely drained, so I could only rely on Stone to pull me along as we swam. In less than two minutes, we arrived at our destination. Stone was also exhausted and sweating profusely, saying softly "Wait for me here, the axe is stuck too tightly, I'll go up first." Then he grabbed the rope that had been lowered down and started climbing upwards.
I'm so exhausted that I don't even have the energy to nod, if it weren't for the buoyancy of this black water being enough, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to float on the surface. Soon, Shi Tou threw down the rope, I grabbed onto the rope and tried to climb up with all my might, but I couldn't muster up any strength, so I could only tie the rope around my waist and let Shi Tou pull me up, it's really tiring for him.
After arriving at the stalactite, I sat on it with my butt facing the palace net and didn't want to move anymore. After resting for two or three minutes, I said to the stone, "Stone, thank you."
"Heh," the stone leaned against the stalactite, wiping the sweat from his head and said faintly, "Still so polite with me, be careful or I'll kick you down."
I chuckled and pulled out a pack of Yuxi cigarettes from my backpack, fortunately wrapped in plastic bags, otherwise they would have been soaked. I handed one to Shi Tou, then leaned against the stalactite with my eyes closed, resting while smoking. For a moment, except for the sound of breathing and exhaling smoke, there was no other noise.
After finishing a cigarette, my strength had recovered somewhat. Just as I was about to light the second one, I suddenly froze, and didn't even notice that the cigarette had fallen to the ground. My mouth was open in shock, and my scalp felt numb.
"What's wrong?" Shi Tou squatted down and pushed me forward.
I came to my senses, threw away the cigarette in my hand, and frantically searched through my backpack. Medicine, food, water... My heart suddenly turned cold, feeling a pair of icy eyes staring at me in the darkness. Cold sweat instantly soaked through my clothes. I looked around cautiously and said in a low voice, "Stone, something's off! There's something dirty nearby."
