A foreigner

  A foreigner

  A foreigner (22 years old)

Looking at this chamber, which is exactly the same size as the one above it, we seem to have fallen into a dead end again, unable to understand what methods those ancient people used to dig layer after layer here without leaving any interconnected passageways.

"Digging again?" I asked, with tools already at hand, wanting to make a good impression on Lin Ruoshui.

"There's a stone gate over there?" Lin Ruoshui wasn't listening to me at all, but was pointing with Wu Liuqi to a place not far ahead.

I looked in the direction where they shone their flashlight, and indeed there was an arched door there, with some cracks appearing on it. I quickly followed them over, and that door wasn't very high, and seemed to be floating in mid-air, not touching the sky or the ground, as if a hole had been dug out from the middle.

"How could there be such a strange door?" I stretched out my hand to take a look at the solidity of those cracks.

"Don't!" Before Lin Ruoshui's words were even finished, the wall in front of me had already completely shattered, and many small stones rolled down to my feet.

I looked at the two of them like a child who had made a mistake, wondering if I had caused trouble again. Can't these things be moved casually? I just wanted to help them open this stone gate with good intentions, but now it looks more like a window.

"This tomb may have hidden mechanisms everywhere, and if these cracks are the buttons for those mechanisms, I'm afraid all three of us will die here. So don't be too curious in this tomb, thinking about touching everything to see what happens. We won't even have time to hide, how can we possibly trigger those mechanisms? Why don't you go check on Mo instead?" Lin Ruoshui explained gently without getting angry, but I could tell she was telling me to scram."

Alas, it's really true that the more you do, the more mistakes you make, and if you don't do anything, nothing goes wrong. It's all Grandpa's fault for not letting me learn how to steal tombs and read Feng Shui. Otherwise, I'd be a master by now. With just a casual gesture, I would have completely captured Lin Ruoshui's attention, and who knows, she might even be throwing herself into my arms and confessing her love for me right now.

"What are you smiling at? Smiling foolishly here?" Mo quietly said to me.

It wasn't until then that I realized I was overthinking again, and could only awkwardly tell her, "Nothing's wrong, nothing's wrong."

However, when I stood behind Lin Ruo Shui and watched him shine his flashlight into the hole, I suddenly let out a soft sigh. I didn't expect that inside the hole was actually standing a person, someone who had been dead for a long time, a modern person who had been dead for a long time, a foreigner from the modern era who had been dead for a long time.

No mistake, I saw very clearly that it was a foreigner, blonde hair and blue eyes, high nose bridge, he stood still in the hole with his eyes wide open, holding a flashlight and a pickaxe in his hand, wearing mountaineering clothes which had turned grey and tattered. The mouth and eyes were completely open, telling me of his astonishment at the time of death, as if he couldn't believe that he would die here. Perhaps the crack on the wall was made by him, just one step away from entering this place when an accident happened.

"How did he die? It's already dug up here." Lin Ruoshui said.

"Could it be his companion?" I asked.

"It's impossible, if it was his companion, why didn't he wait until the hole opened to take action, but instead took action in this thief hole?" Wu Liuqi said.

"Maybe, or perhaps." I thought of all the explanations, but my mind was a complete blank.

Lin Ruo Shui had already walked past, and with one pull, he pulled the foreigner out from inside. When his body hit the ground, I only then discovered that a huge hole had been dug into the foreigner's back, and his internal organs had long since disappeared.

"It's too cruel." He silently covered his eyes, not daring to look again.

Wu Liu Qi and Lin Ruo Shui were rummaging through his belongings, trying to find some useful clues, while I stuck my head into the foreigner's dead hole. Maybe because foreigners are naturally tall, this hole was much larger than it actually was. I shone my flashlight inside, thinking in my mind, would this tomb be connected to the outside?

At that moment, my flashlight inadvertently swept to a strange thing, and I was startled first. It was a person with a bronze mask, sticking to the edge of the cave and looking at me. Its figure was extremely short, and it held a half-long knife in its hand.

"There is, there's someone!" I shouted, pointing at the cave.

Lin Ruoshui and Wu Liuqi rushed over immediately, and when they saw what I was pointing at, they also seemed to be slightly surprised. At the same time, my sense of satisfaction rose, it seems that I finally discovered something useful.

"Get it out and take a look." Lin Ruoshui's words almost scared me stiff, the first thing she trusted me to do was to pull out that strange bronze-headed guy.

"It's nothing, it died a long time ago." Wu Liuqi said to me with a hint of schadenfreude.

"Go if you go, wait for me." When I see Wu Liuqi, I have an urge to beat him up, because he always makes me lose face in front of Lin Ruoshui. If it weren't for his muscular body, I would have taught him a lesson long ago.

I cautiously made my way into the tomb, which was still quite spacious, otherwise this foreigner wouldn't have been able to stand upright and die here. I crouched down and slowly approached the bronze-headed person, and as I got closer, my heart grew more anxious, because I saw that the person wasn't wearing any clothes, and their entire body was covered in hair. When I got even closer, I discovered that it had also grown a tail.

"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid." I whispered to myself, slowly extending my hand towards the strange creature. When I touched its fur, I found that its entire body was stiff, it seemed like it had been dead for a long time.

Gently pulled it towards me, and my body slowly backed away, almost not daring to turn around, yet I still heard the sound of Lin Ruoshui's laughter outside the cave.

"Damn it, you're laughing at me again? Fine, I'll show you guys something." I thought to myself, and then pulled this bronze-headed man directly into my arms. The whole person turned around in the cave, and when I smiled at them, Lin Ruoshui and Wu Liuqi's faces changed.
