Another half of rat shit

  Another half of rat shit

Mr. Liu's son, the big director, ended his farce that afternoon with a phone call to apologize to his father and promised to make amends by visiting Zhang Jin's home.

He thought that the matter had passed and Zhang Jin didn't put it in his heart, continuing his own carefree life. As for whether Director Liu would come to apologize or not, he didn't mind, as long as he wouldn't disturb him again. However, in reality, things hadn't ended just because of Director Liu's apology that day. The matter seemed like a half-rotten mouse dropping in the porridge, and there was still another half hidden among the rice grains.

A few days later, Zhang Jin and others came not to apologize for Liu's behavior, but with something even more infuriating and disgusting than Liu's rant.

That afternoon, when Zhang Jin was lying on a recliner in a state of semi-sleep, three men wearing police uniforms burst through the door.

"Zhang Jin, we have received a report from the masses and suspect that you are engaging in illegal medical practice. We hope you will come with us to accept an investigation!" A stout policeman with a serious expression said to Zhang Jin.

Zhang Jin was taken aback for a moment before revealing a puzzled expression, "Practicing medicine illegally? No."

The fat policeman at the front remained unmoved by Zhang Jin's words, a sinister smile spreading across his face: "None? Come with me and we'll have a good chat, then you'll know if there is or not! Take him away."

The last two words were for the two thugs-like men behind him.

The fat policeman finished speaking, and the other two men who were following him, looking more like thugs than police officers, rushed up like wolves and swiftly put shiny handcuffs on Zhang Jin.

Zhang Jin did not struggle, although he wanted to take down these three weak and even less capable than ordinary police officers with ease, but he did not want to stir up trouble. If he had beaten up the three men today, his longed-for leisurely life would have been thoroughly ruined.

Then Zhang Jin followed the two 'escorts' in a docile manner, following the fat policeman who was walking in front with his head held high, and walked out of the door.

Zhang Jin's mind was in a mess until he reached the door, then he turned his head to remind Qi Bing, who had already been frightened into a daze: "Call Lao Si, don't tell the family."

Sitting in the police car, from Haiwazi Village to Wanhai Town Police Station, Zhang Jin didn't say a word.

Zhang Jin, who had worked in the most corrupt department of the medical and health system for many years, was very clear that someone must be trying to frame him. Otherwise, without mentioning the whistleblower's problem, even if it were true that he was being investigated for illegal medical practice, the first ones to come to his door should have been the medical and health supervision department, not the police. Only those who violently resisted the supervision department's investigation of their illegal medical practices would be visited by the police.

Moreover, the first on-site inspection should be to investigate before apprehending, rather than apprehending without asking questions. Furthermore, this police officer did not show any identification from start to finish, obviously having someone backing him up behind the scenes.

Although he knew that something was fishy, Zhang Jin did not raise any questions about this matter. He was very clear that in this society, there were three types of people wearing professional attire who didn't need to reason with the "common folk" class.

A police officer in uniform does not reason with a person he thinks or has to think is a criminal suspect, whether the suspect is actually guilty or falsely accused.

City administrators in uniform don't reason with small vendors who 'haven't paid on time'. Regardless of whether the vendor can't afford to eat or can barely make ends meet.

Doctors in white coats don't reason with patients. Regardless of whether the patient really has no money or no time to get the money.

  …………

The shock absorption of the police car was apparently not as good as Zhang Jin's horseback riding, with a feeling that made his stomach turn over. Along the way, three policemen scolded and cursed non-stop. An hour later, when they arrived at the Wanhai Town Police Station and got out of the car, the three 'people's police' even kicked Zhang Jin a few times in a fit of pique.

"Damn it, for your sake, I've suffered. You just wait and see, we'll loosen your bones soon!" The fat policeman, who was the leader of the three, said viciously after kicking Zhang Jin several times.

  …………

Another half hour later, Zhang Jin was beaten by several police officers in the detention room for refusing to sign a confession that had already been written. With anger boiling over and on the verge of exploding, another policeman walked in, interrupting the civilized interrogation by the three policemen.

The policeman first called the fat policeman out of the door, and after whispering a few words to him at the entrance, he saw the fat policeman's face suddenly change. When he came back to look at Zhang Jin, his expression also changed from being full of viciousness to one of surprise with a hint of shame. His attitude also changed from looking down on him to looking up at him like a dog looks at its master. His tone also changed from the vicious and fierce tone used when dealing with disobedient prostitutes to the flattering tone used by a traitor when meeting his superior.

Although these two 'people's police' had lowered their voices when speaking, Zhang Jin's extraordinary hearing still heard everything clearly.

"Captain Luo, Director Hu just called and said not to use force on this person. When he gets back, we'll pretend it was a mistaken arrest, apologize, and let him go."

Fat policeman's expression changed: "Why, wasn't it Hu who personally ordered us to catch this Zhang? He also said that Liu Director had entrusted him with this and asked me to do a good job."

The police officer who just arrived said, "Don't mention it, after all, Director Liu is from another city. Although due to urban cooperation and being adjacent to us, he has a great impact on us. But this time, according to Hu So's tone, the person behind Zhang is actually from our city, and is a big shot in the municipal government, even bigger than Director Liu! So when Hu So received that call, he had to drop everything and rush back desperately. I reckon he got scolded."

At this moment, beads of sweat on the fat policeman's face 'brushed' down. "Trouble has been stirred up", he realized.

  …………

When the three fat policemen had been waiting respectfully in the office for half an hour, Director Hu, who was almost as fat as them, finally rushed back from outside, covered in sweat.

As soon as they met, Director Hu smiled and said: "Mr. Zhang, I'm really sorry. It's all a misunderstanding. Because we received false accusations from the masses, you suffered injustice. Don't worry, we will severely investigate the person who made the false accusation and give you justice..."

After listening to Director Hu and several police officers who had previously had "friendly exchanges" with him, Zhang Jin smiled faintly and shook hands with Director Hu, saying in a gloomy tone: "No wonder you didn't know! Director Hu, please don't take this matter to heart, or you'll be thinking about it every day. Who knows, one careless move and you might fall from the building."

For Zhang Jin's somewhat strange words, Hu Suochang didn't think much of it, his facial fat all squeezed together, piling on a smile to say: "That is, that is. You are very generous!"

Then Zhang Jin shook hands with the fat policeman who was 'most considerate' and 'most affectionate' to him, still with a hypocritical smile: "Officer, you should pay attention to this kind of thing in the future! We have a Chinese saying that goes 'If you don't do anything shameful, you won't be afraid of ghosts knocking on your door.' Don't let 'official business' make you sleep badly, it's not worth it."

Finally, Zhang Jin came to the two policemen who had come with Hei Pang to catch him and kicked him a few times, shook hands with them, "Two police comrades, don't think that wearing this uniform makes you better than us 'common people'. The food of being superior is not good to eat, be careful not to get indigestion!"

After walking around and talking a lot of nonsense, Zhang Jin refused the request of the police station to send him back by car, and only then did he walk out of the Wanhai Town Police Station with a relaxed mood.

Standing outside the police station, Zhang Jin turned his head to take another look at the few guys who were still looking in his direction inside the gate. He couldn't help but secretly smile and say, "Wish you all a pleasant time!"

  Turned away and left.
