Chapter 30: The Shocking Ambush (Three)

Chapter 30: The Shocking Ambush (Three)

Nan handed the binoculars to Zhang Jiqiu and pointed forward, indicating that he should go ahead and observe. He then handed his night vision scope to Li Baoguo, "Take another look."

Liu Jian and his group returned when Nan Wei Ren and Li Bao Guo were discussing something. "Come, tell us what you've observed?"

"I saw the devils loading what seemed like ammunition onto the car, and the patrol team passes by this iron fence every ten minutes. No dogs." Liu Jian said.

"There are four large piles covered with canvas, lined up in the northwest. Two wooden towers, one south and one north. There are searchlights and machine guns on top, possibly heavy machine guns." Xu De said. "On the northeast to east side, there is an oil depot, I saw cars refueling there. In the middle, there is a firebreak. This side has no searchlights." A team member said.

"There are four patrol teams, each coming over at ten-minute intervals. We have cleared the road surface on this side, no landmines, iron boxes or anything like that, and also removed steel hooks." A squad leader said.

"This is the layout of the military camp." Zhang Jiqiu came over at some point and handed over a large sheet of paper, which was the back of a map. Under the faint light of the flashlight, several squad leaders who had been summoned focused their attention on the map. The map was divided into two zones and four blocks, with the approximate deployment of troops marked.

"What are those things?" Nan Wei-ren pointed at the ten small black dots in front of the ghost's plank house dormitory and asked.

"It should be a German tank. I saw it when I was in Beiping, although I couldn't see very clearly, but the general outline should be." Zhang Qiankui said.

He pointed to the map, asking each of them to clarify their targets and routes. Finally, he looked at Xu De and said, "You take two soldiers, responsible for seizing these three cars here, and blow up all the others." Liu Jian, you take twenty soldiers, responsible for snatching these armored vehicles, get as many as you can, blow up those that can't be driven away. Does everyone else understand their tasks? I'll go with Li's team to raid the enemy camp. Now synchronize your watches. At 11:30, infiltrate for 5 minutes, and my destruction of the searchlights will be the signal to start the attack. After a 5-minute fierce assault, assemble here, get on the vehicles, and have the armored vehicles lead the way, charging out of the camp gate. All timed explosives are set to explode in five minutes."

"Does everyone understand?" Li Baoguo looked around at the crowd, seeing no one raise any objections. "Fire everything that can inflict maximum damage, leave no reserves!"

"Alright." Nan Erxin glanced at the crowd, "The greatest harm to the enemy is also the greatest protection for oneself. Now go back and rest, I reckon the enemy will still be in a mess for a while."

As expected, the devils were busy until 11 o'clock before stopping, and the lights in the military camp gradually dimmed. The devil's searchlights also turned more quickly.

"It would be great if we could cut off the devils' electricity." Zhang Jinqiu said softly beside him, his eyes again pressed against the binoculars, looking at the devils below the mountain. "It's impossible. The devils here use generators, and it's hard to cut off the power lines from outside."

Li Baoguo and Ren looked at each other, and couldn't help but think of the special task force's past. In their time, making it lose power was not a big deal. But now, apart from breaking in, there really wasn't any good way to do it.

The devils are getting more and more at ease. After all, it's already late at night, and they've been busy until they're exhausted, and there's no special situation, let alone the Imperial Army has never encountered any decent resistance in Shina. Making excuses is always a self-deception.

Maybe relaxation after intense work is in line with some kind of human rule?

When the special forces infiltrated the enemy's military camp, a faint snoring sound came from a corner. In less than five minutes, all the special forces had taken their positions, and along the way, some enemies were eliminated by the team members in various ways. Song Yan-chun was responsible for placing explosives on two teams, which had been reasonably placed and timed. Even some team members secretly took a large wooden box from the enemy's ammunition pile, inside which were four brand-new light machine guns, and later found bullets not far away. Excited team members opened another box, almost everyone equipped themselves with machine guns, and bullets were loaded everywhere. Fortunately, these team members had undergone high-intensity training, running back and forth for 50 miles with heavy loads was a required course, more importantly, Yang's policy was too biased towards the special forces, their food supply was four times that of ordinary soldiers, of course, it was up to the special forces themselves to solve the funding problem.

Nan Ren Fu hid behind an armored vehicle, his sniper rifle poking out slightly, and through the scope he clearly saw two devils on the wooden tower, one occasionally turning the searchlight, but his eyes were looking at the sky and talking to another devil. It seems that the devil's searchlight is also a decoration for the deaf - a mere ornament.

Li Baoguo led two teams of twenty people, each equipped with a rifle and a submachine gun. Liu Jian's light tapping sound came from the armored vehicle - he was ready. Li Baoguo gave a slight nod behind him. Nan Weiren's rifle had a silencer installed, and with a soft "pfft" sound, the enemy's searchlight went out. Following that, the sound of gunfire and explosions erupted from behind Nan Weiren. The grenades were fired horizontally due to the close distance, with the front ones shooting backwards and the rear ones shooting forwards. The armored vehicle provided excellent protection, and the row of wooden houses was blown into fragments by twenty grenade explosions. The soldiers who had been preparing for a second wave of attack finally witnessed the power of the grenades! A fierce explosion suddenly ignited a massive fire. "Fire!" Li Baoguo shouted, firing another round of grenades at the remaining wooden houses, blowing the stones inside into the air once again. The air was filled with the smell of smoke and blood. The armored vehicle started moving, but only five could be driven away. There was no time to linger, so the rest were rigged with explosives, leaving many team members regretful, especially after witnessing the power of the armored vehicle. "Just three more minutes, and we would have gotten that treasure out! Ah!"

Three minutes later, life and death were redefined once again.

"The enemy can't kill you, but our own explosives can get you killed three or four times!"

Just as Li Baoguo and his men fired, the wooden tower was almost simultaneously hit by a grenade, and the wooden tower was easily torn to pieces. The devils on it were turned into a thick flame and fell down together. There were gunshots everywhere, and the patrolling devils hid in one place to organize resistance. The team members who had been robbed of their machine guns fired wildly for a while, suppressing them so that they couldn't lift their heads. Hand grenades followed, falling like rain. These devils were scared out of their wits, shouting "Mama!" "Hey, you guys don't even look around! What kind of place is this? Throwing hand grenades! In the ammunition depot!" Of course, the special warfare team members knew that hand grenades were specially designed to be thrown by hand and could accurately kill people.

Five minutes of fierce attack, the real resistance encountered was not much. Except for the patrol team, it was the enemy's company headquarters' machine gun bunker and the gate's machine gun post. The patrol team had members from all over who solved their own problems, while the machine gun bunker in front of the company headquarters was an unforeseen variable. Two heavy machine guns were blocking the way forward, tongues of flame dancing wildly, bullets hitting the armor, clanging loudly, as if they were about to break through the armor. There were less than two minutes left before the explosion!
