Chapter Eleven Assassination
For over an hour, the sound of a massive roaring airplane engine came from afar and entered Wang Weiye's ears. Wang Weiye saw a man in his fifties, about 1.9 meters tall, walking out of the room. He was a Soviet old man. Wang Weiye immediately sent a surge of true energy to his eyes, and the old man's head appeared before him like a large grindstone, from afar to near.
When Wang Weiye saw the two golden stars on the old man's shoulder, he was secretly shocked in his heart. This rascal's evil spirit came up, and he didn't care about anything, so he brought out the set of tricks he used when he was a hooligan in Harbin. He muttered to himself in a low voice: "Damn it, it's still a lieutenant general, looks like Three Grandpa's business today will only make a profit, not a loss. Damn it, if I kill one, I'll break even, and if I kill two, I'll make a profit. If I get killed by these stupid Soviet old men, that would be equivalent to me sleeping with the fishes."
Wang Weiye pointed the gun at the lieutenant general's head, but he didn't pull the trigger. He was eager to know what kind of person this was who had come here by plane today. Someone who could make a KGB lieutenant general personally come out to greet him from the base must not be an insignificant figure. Wang Weiye was a cunning and ruthless man, with a mind as sharp as a monkey's. He knew that if he wanted to capture a thief, he should first capture the king. Now, he had the opportunity to kill a very important person, so he would absolutely not kill some small fry for fun. If he wanted to kill those small fries, it could only be done by using them as a substitute for something else. But Wang Weiye never thought that this time he was really in luck. And what Wang Weiye didn't expect even more was that this assassination attempt, which risked everything, almost dragged China and the Soviet Union into war.
A military helicopter slowly landed on the square, its huge propellers blowing the snow on the ground into a thick white fog. As soon as the propellers stopped rotating, the special forces who were guarding around immediately surrounded the helicopter.
As soon as the helicopter's cabin door was opened, a Soviet old man in his sixties, wearing a woolen coat and a muskrat fur hat, walked out of the helicopter. He is about 175 centimeters tall.
And then another one came out of the plane, a military man about 180 cm tall and around sixty years old. Wang Weiye didn't recognize the old man in casual clothes, but when he saw the military man over sixty, Wang Weiye exclaimed in his heart: Wow, what a big shot, it turned out to be a lieutenant general, no wonder the base's major general came out to greet him personally.
Wang Weiye immediately pointed the muzzle at the head of the old man in casual clothes, because he knew that the first person to get off the plane must be more important than the general.
Deputy Director of the Soviet Intelligence Agency, KGB's second-in-command, Klef Makilov, still unaware that the Grim Reaper had already swung his giant scythe to collect his life.
Wang Weiye didn't fire immediately, he was waiting for the best opportunity, which was when the old man shook hands with the lieutenant general. Because Wang Weiye had a bold idea, that is, he wanted to take out all the big and small figures at once.
Wang Weiye's brain was completely focused, without any distracting thoughts. He held his breath as the muzzle of his gun followed the old man's slow movements. In the instant when Wang Weiye's gun didn't move, within less than a second, Wang Weiye pulled the trigger three times in quick succession: "Bang! Bang! Bang!" Three specially-made 7.62mm armor-piercing explosive bullets flew into the heads of the three people who were shaking hands and talking, at six times the speed of sound.
After Wang Weiye continuously pulled the trigger, he saw that old guy and those two KGB generals' heads were like watermelons smashed to the ground, their three heads had all disappeared from their necks. A mixture of white brain matter and bright red blood splattered onto the surrounding soldiers. The fresh blood gushing out of their necks was over a meter high. Their entire bodies were like zombies, stiffly falling to the ground. And in his underground lair, Death himself raised his wine glass, beginning to laugh heartily.
Wang Weiye didn't immediately jump up, but instead aimed the muzzle at the helicopter's fuel tank. He pulled the trigger "bang" and with a loud gunshot, the helicopter burst into flames with a loud "boom". The entire helicopter exploded violently. Those KGB special forces soldiers responsible for guarding the helicopter were mostly pierced by shrapnel, turning them into sieves, becoming bloody watermelons. Fresh blood gushed out of their bodies like springs, constantly bubbling up. Some had their heads chopped off by helicopter debris, with fresh blood spraying out like a fountain, over a meter high. Before they could even understand what was happening, they bid farewell to this world and went to meet their maker.
The playground was littered with dead and wounded soldiers, while those alive were stunned by the sudden event. Wang Weiye didn't want to be invited for tea by the KGB special forces, so he immediately jumped up from the snowy ground, carrying his sniper rifle, and in an instant, he had already reached a distance of ten meters. Wang Weiye was now using his qinggong skills to their limit, utilizing the gaps between trees to rush into the forest.
Soldiers on the square, due to the dazzling lights of the square, did not discover Wang Weiye in the dark forest. However, they were professionally trained soldiers who had undergone cruel military training. After being stunned for two or three seconds by the sudden event, they immediately reacted and stood up with their Kalashnikov AK74M assault rifles or AKS-74 folding stock assault rifles in hand. They blindly fired at the dark forest ahead, pouring out all the metal bullets from the magazine. The tranquility of the forest was shattered by the sudden gunfire, and a shrill alarm sounded above the secret base.
Wang Weiye utilized the fallen leaves and trunk of a camphor tree to block the bullets, his body covered in a layer of true energy. He quickly dodged the AK74M assault rifle and AKS74 folding stock gun bullets that were shooting towards him from behind like a torrential rain. As the bullet heads rubbed against the air, they brought with them waves of scorching heat, making a "hissing" sound next to Wang Weiye. The bullets that hit Wang Weiye's body had already lost most of their power, but still hurt enough to make him grit his teeth. While dodging the bullets, he loudly shouted: "Damn it, it really fucking hurts when bullets hit my body!"
At the same time, an ear-piercing alarm sounded in the secret base. The entire KGB secret base was now on high alert. More than 5,000 special forces soldiers were shocked to learn that their base commander and the deputy director of the intelligence bureau who had come here, as well as their military commander, had been shot dead by an assassin in the base square. This was not only a great shame for the KGB special forces but also a provocation against the entire special forces. Now all they could do was to prevent the assassin from escaping from them.
In less than two minutes, two armed helicopters took off from the base. The planes had just taken off when another two armed helicopters also took to the sky from the base. Flares fired from the helicopter illuminated several kilometers of forest like daylight and began to survey this piece of forest.
Two M134 Miniguns on the armed helicopter started to crazily sweep the suspicious objects in the forest below with a storm of 7.62mm metal at a rate of 900 rounds per minute. The branches of the cudas were blown off and flew all over the sky like rain, while the snow on the trees and ground was blown up into high snow mist by the dense bullets.
Wang Weiye, this battlefield fool, was stunned by the sudden and intense 7.62mm bullets, he had never seen so many bullets in a movie, blindly shooting towards this area. When a 7.62mm bullet passed through his thigh muscle, while at the same time his body in front and back was scratched by bullets, feeling a burning pain, Wang Weiye finally woke up from his stunned state. He no longer cared about the bleeding wounds on his body, and rolled and crawled to hide under a large tree, motionless and tightly attached to the trunk of the tree, avoiding the bullets that were like a stormy rain. While avoiding bullets, he quickly pressed the wound around his thigh, and the pine needles that fell from his head after being shot down now covered his feet. The bark was blown away by bullets, flying everywhere. And the clothes he wore were shot to shreds, no different from a beggar's clothes, with cotton filling flying all over his body. The entire forest was filled with the smell of gunpowder and pine oil, choking Wang Weiye, who dared not breathe through his mouth.
When the Gatling M134 minigun stopped firing, Wang Weiye endured the severe pain on his body and peeked out from behind a tree trunk to observe the sky. When he saw an armed helicopter hovering above, and the Soviet KGB special forces soldiers on the plane throwing down ropes, Wang Weiye knew that this was the Soviet KGB special forces trying to shrink the encirclement, aiming to catch him in a pot. If these special forces soldiers were allowed to descend from the helicopter like locusts along the ropes and surround the area, his injured body would not be able to break through, unless the god of death was his uncle, allowing some kind of miracle to happen; otherwise, he could only bid farewell to this world.
Wang Weiye no longer cared about many things, nor did he care if his current position would be exposed to those special soldiers. He quickly replaced the magazine with armor-piercing incendiary bullets, raised his modified Mauser 98K sniper rifle, and continuously pulled the trigger at the helicopter's fuel tank. With a loud "boom", a fireball erupted, and the armed helicopter exploded in mid-air. The massive rotor blades flew off from above the helicopter, cutting down several tall trees below like cucumbers.
In the helicopter, those KGB special forces soldiers were all accompanied by this explosion, and their body fragments scattered in all directions like hail. Wang Weiye had seen various dead bodies, but he had never seen anything like this before - the ground was covered with internal organs, charred and severed limbs, and pieces of human flesh that had been blown to bits, scattered across the pristine white snow, making it especially striking. The stench from the abdominal cavity filled the entire space, making people feel nauseous and unable to breathe.
Wang Weiye saw all this, his mouth and nose breathed in the nauseating smell, he really couldn't bear it anymore, so he squatted on the ground and started vomiting violently. Originally, there wasn't much in his stomach, but now everything was thrown up, including the soup and water.
With the explosion of the armed helicopter, Wang Weiye's current position has been completely exposed to the KGB special forces. Those KGB special forces officers immediately issued orders, letting the ground soldiers of the special forces quickly gather in this direction and form a considerable encirclement.
Ten minutes, for an ordinary person, is nothing, maybe just enough time to drink a cup of tea or smoke a cigarette. But now, for Wang Weiye, he only needs ten precious minutes. Because, before the KGB special forces soldiers and helicopters form a siege, Wang Weiye must break through the encirclement in one breath, and only then can he have a glimmer of hope to survive.
