Private Blues 4

  The Blues of Private (4)

I don't know how long it's been, maybe a very long time, but I always feel that the time is too short. There was a gentle knock on the door outside, and Xiaofei said from outside: "Can I come in?"

"Come in!" Xiao Ying asked. I was about to get up, but she still held me tight: "What's wrong?" I smiled awkwardly. She then scratched my face: "A special forces soldier is shy?" Just then, Xiao Fei came in: "Oh! Did I come at a bad time?!"

  "What's up?" Xiaoying asked.

"Director wants to see you," said Xiaofei, "your application for transferring to surgery department has been approved."

"Then I'll go and come back." Xiaoying patted my face, "You have to wait for me obediently."

I nodded and smiled. Xiaofei covered her mouth: "Then I'll leave!"

"You go talk to him, I think he's scared of being alone." Xiaoying smiled and went to get the military uniform. I quickly turned my face away quietly. I heard Xiaoying rustling as she changed clothes. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Xiaofei looking at me in surprise, then at Xiaoying, who also playfully hit her. Xiaofei nodded incredulously: "I really believe it now, there are still fairy tales in this world!"

"What's up with you!" Xiaoying randomly wiped her face with a wet towel, combed her hair a few times, buttoned up her military uniform, turned to me and said: "Xiaofei will keep you company for a bit, I'll be back soon!"

I nodded and smiled: "I'll wait for you."

Xiao Ying laughed: "Xiao Fei, if she doesn't behave, you can spank her for me!"

"Wow!" Xiaofei exclaimed, "How can I possibly beat him? He's a special forces soldier!"

"Bullshit! In front of me, he's just a black monkey!" Xiao Ying said with a smile, "If he dares to fight back, I'll come back and deal with him! I'm leaving!"

She turned and left. Xiaofei was with me in the house. This is the first time I've been alone with a girl other than Xiaoying since I joined the army. Do you think "awkward" can describe it?

"Drink up!" Little Fei generously pulled out a can of Coke and opened it for me. I took it, had a small sip. Little Fei looked at me: "Those little acid poems were really written by you?"

  I nodded: "Yes."

Xiao Fei carefully sized me up: "Really can't tell! The Wild Battle Army has really produced a character now!"

"What kind of person am I?" I laughed, it's a sincere remark. Xiaofei pulled over a chair and sat down: "Hey, tell me what's fun in your mountain village?"

"It's just mountains and rivers, nothing else." I said.

"Can we go and have some fun?" she asked. I choked on my Coke.

"There's nothing fun to do in this city anymore!" said Little Fi, "How about it? I'll talk to our director and arrange for a large sedan to take a few dozen of us girls over there to have some fun! We can also go check out what your special forces are like! Also, let's fire some guns, I've only seen those guns on TV before, never fired one! You tell your leaders about it?"

My head is big, who am I? Who should I talk to? Directly report to the leader of the Dog Head High School team? And what subject should I take directly to the combat class and hammer it out first? The captain? Isn't that a cross-level report? I'm a bird returning to its nest, but this matter involves the principles of soldiers, I can't do it. Besides, the captain may not agree!

"Come on," said Little Phi, "our military region general hospital is not an outsider! The mountain gorge of the Second Artillery has invited us to go, and your special forces are so secretive?"

"I don't know who to tell." I sighed with a bitter smile, "Who can I tell?"

"Alas, I really overestimated you! You don't even have a bit of mobility!" Xiaofei sighed. "What's the surname of your team leader?"

"My surname is He," I said.

"Done! I've taken care of it myself!" She nodded. So amazing? I took a closer look at her. She didn't say anything more about that: "Xiao Ying said you're a university student?"

I nodded and said: "I am from the Directing Department of Central Academy of Drama."

"How did you come up with joining the army? To dedicate yourself to national defense?"

I honestly said it was for Xiao Ying. She sighed: "Really happy!" I don't know who's happy, so I just smiled.

"Your poem—" She looked at me, "is really sourly written!"

I choked again and hadn't had time to speak when Xiao Ying came in with a big smile on her face: "Hei Hou Zi! You two are getting along pretty well, huh!"

"Alright! My mission is complete!" Xiaofei stood up, "Let's go! University student special forces!" She smiled and left. I took a glance at her back figure.

"Hey!" Xiao Ying looked at me, "You're reluctant to part with it?"

"No way!" I said hastily, "What are you talking about?"

"Hey!" She patted my bald head, "You've got to have the guts for this! Let me tell you, you can mess with anyone, but never mess with Xiao Fei! You're no match for her!"

"Am I that person?" I exclaimed anxiously.

"Don't pretend to be energetic in front of me, okay?" Xiao Ying laughed. "Don't you spend all your energy on those girls?" She even added emphasis on the word "those".

"That's all in the past! I'm now..."

"Done! You're a soldier now! A special forces one!" Xiaoying sat on my lap, hugging my neck, "You really are a dark horse! I didn't expect you had the makings of a special forces soldier all along!"

"I didn't notice it myself," I said honestly.

"How long are you staying here?" she asked me. This question reminded me: "I have to go back before dinner, we're leaving again."

  "Where are you going?"

"I stopped. Xiao Ying laughed: "I won't ask! It's useless to ask you! I'll go ask my husband!" I knew she was referring to the old lady from Dog Head High School, so I just smiled, anyway it wasn't me who said it. I took out my bag and pulled out a nicely wrapped gift: "This is for you."

"What's wrong?" Xiao Ying laughed: "What aesthetics does a black monkey from a mountain ditch have? What thing?"

  "Take a look inside."

"Don't look!" She still hugged me and looked at me, "Just looking at you is enough for me!"

I felt a bit down, but I didn't say anything. I've become silent in front of girls. She saw that I wasn't asking her for anything, so she pouted. But I still understood - after all, I have experience, and even if I'm stupid, I've got some past: "What's wrong?"

  "I won't look!"

  "Look, I'm begging you!"

  "Don't look! Don't look! Don't look!"

  "Good, take a look."

  "No!"

She pouted like a child. I smiled: "Don't you see me giving it to others?"

  "Whatever!" she said crisply.

"Which bed does Xiao Fei live in?"

"Ah!" she exclaimed, pointing. I helped her down.

  "What's wrong?"

"I'll give it to Xiao Fei." I stood up.

"You're ill!" She was anxious. I saw tears in her eyes and immediately sat down.

"Just kidding! What's wrong? Didn't we always joke around before?" I said.

Xiao Ying: "Is it the same now? Is it easy for me to see you now? Do you know how afraid I am? You are in heaven, underground, and in the water, I'm just scared..."

She covered her mouth and burst into tears. I quickly hugged her over: "Am I okay?"

She nodded, let go of her hand, and made a few "psst" sounds. Then she smiled like a child again - I like girls who cry and laugh easily, it's because of Xiaoying that I think girls' faces should be changeable, only then is it fun.

"Let me see!" She took it over and tore off the outer gift wrapping paper. A white dress. She burst out laughing.

"What's wrong? Don't you like it?" I asked hastily.

"Not, not," she said with a smile. "I like all of yours. But you don't care about the season either, do you? Buy me a skirt?" I smiled awkwardly, what seasonal concept did I have? The troops only had those few sets of uniforms.

"Let me see how it looks." She opened the packaging of the skirt, took a look at the brand and jumped in fright: "Lady's House?" I nodded: "I think you'll look good wearing it."

"Do you know how much this is?" she opened her mouth wide. Of course I knew, it was my nearly 10 months' allowance. Not a cent spent, all for buying gifts for Xiao Ying. It was so damn poor when serving in the army! Xiao Ying cried again and hugged me: "Hei Hou Zi Xiao Zhuang, what's wrong with you?"

  I said: "What's wrong? It's just a skirt, isn't it?"

"Don't buy me gifts anymore, okay?" she said.

I don't speak, thinking in my heart that I should buy it anyway, what's the point of saying it?

"I'll change into it right now!" She stood up and opened her skirt, "I'll put it on for you to see!"

She took off her military uniform, and I quickly closed my eyes. After a while, I heard her say: "Okay!"

I opened my eyes. If it's true that fairies descend to the world, then it was that day. Xiao Ying, in a white dress. A fairy, who else could it be?

"What's wrong with you?" Xiaoying tapped on my bald head.

"It's as beautiful as a painting!" I exclaimed.

"How can you just say that? Is there nothing else to say? Can't you write more in the letter?" She smiled bitterly, "Look at this soldier treating you like this!"

I smile, I feel beautiful in my heart. Because, the fairy is my little shadow.
