Chapter 2: Displaying the Miracle of Sniping

  Chapter 2: Displaying Sniper Miracles

Seeing that there were a bunch of little devils chasing behind him, Chen Shaoqin ran to the back of a large stone in an emergency. In almost one second, he raised his 38-style rifle, aimed at the devil lieutenant who was commanding the devil soldiers to charge, and pulled the trigger with his right index finger. All that could be heard was a "bang" sound, as the bullet shot out from Chen Shaoqin's gun, passing through the airflow in the air, and directly hitting the devil lieutenant's brow. The devil lieutenant fell to the ground on the spot, without even having time to twitch once, and met King Yanluo.

The little devils saw the officer being shot dead, without any disarray, still maintaining their combat formation, charging towards Chen Shaoqin's side, but they no longer had the ability to take unified action, and several battalion-level commanders led their own troops to fight separately.

Chen Shaoqin pulled the bolt, ejecting the shell from the barrel, and then pushed the next round into the chamber. With a loud "bang", one of the Japanese soldiers fell to the ground. The second, third... In less than five seconds, all four Japanese soldiers were shot dead.

The little devils saw such momentum and began to feel that the god of death had appeared beside them. The first few panicked turns, even colliding with the devils behind them, desperately ran towards the back. The little devils in the back saw that the front was already chaotic, and immediately followed suit, some people didn't even bother to pick up the guns that had slipped from their hands.

After the little devil ran away, Chen Shaoqin raised the gun in his hand and jumped out from behind a large stone, collecting weapons and ammunition beside the devil's corpse.

He was well aware of his current situation, and without logistical support, he could only rely on finding ammunition from the enemy to escape the encirclement.

However, most of the devils killed in front of him were devil officers. Those Type 14s from the south weren't his preferred weapons at all, but he had no other choice, so he somewhat "ate whatever was available" and collected all the weapons, then quickly left here and entered the depths of the jungle.

The garrison commander in the county seat was a major general named Bin Tian Yifu, who flew into a rage and slammed his fist on the table when he heard the report of the casualties in the Linzi battle from his subordinates. He then ordered the Japanese sentry posts near Wild Boar Forest to be strictly controlled, with curfews imposed on the roads, and had Nomura lead an entire regiment to enter the forest to surround and annihilate Chen Shaobin, determined to achieve the effect of catching a turtle in a jar.

Chen Shaoqin entered the central part of the forest, using his old-fashioned compass and a map he had found on a Japanese corpse to determine his direction. He then headed in the direction that would take him out of the forest most quickly, but when he reached the edge of the forest, he discovered that the Japanese devils had already set up sentry posts and stationed troops all around. Right in front of him was a full squad of little Japanese devils waiting for him.

In front of the enemy's position, there were four light machine guns, one Type 92 heavy machine gun and four grenade launchers. With such a strong firepower network, he thought it was almost suicidal to try to break through.

Since there was no way forward, he had to find another way. So he opened the tattered map again and tried hard to find his next breakthrough out of the forest.

Just at this time, a large number of broken twigs and the sound of boots trampling grass appeared in the forest behind, obviously the enemy's pursuit troops had arrived from behind.

Chen Shaoqin quickly put away the map and compass in his hand, hid the weapons in his hand in various hiding places at the fastest speed, and loaded all the bullets in the gun for the first time. Then he hid behind a 38-type rifle and pulled the bolt.

"Captain Nomura, just ahead is our Lingzi Slope outpost at the easternmost part of Yezer Forest. Commander Hamada has ordered a full platoon to guard it. We've been chasing so fast that the Chinese soldiers should be right in front of us by now, but we haven't seen any sign of them yet. Have we taken a wrong turn?" A Japanese major had not found any clues about Chen Shaoqin along the way and was starting to get anxious.

"Kojima, this gunman was able to take out our lieutenant and four privates in such a short time, every shot hitting the forehead. This is no ordinary Chink gunman! We can't be careless!" Nomura didn't show any signs of fatigue, "Besides, this is the closest place to get out of the woods. I believe he won't give up easily!"

Nomura's words were not yet finished, when a "bang" was heard, and a bullet shot out from one side of the woods, hitting the back of Xiao Dao's head. The precise shooting almost didn't let Xiao Dao make any reaction, nor did he struggle at all, before falling to the ground.

"Hachigatsu~ Shina jūshu!" Nomura, seeing Oshima fall to the ground, immediately reacted instinctively, pulling out his Nambu Type 14 from his waist and crouching down in a defensive position, while with his other hand he made a gesture for all the nearby Japanese soldiers to take cover.

Immediately afterwards, Chen Shaoqin jumped to another sniper point and almost without aiming, pulled the trigger of the Southern Fourteen. The bullet passed through the leaves that fell from the trees due to the startled birds, and directly hit a soldier's forehead next to Nomura, also hitting the center of his eyebrow with one shot.

"Hachi-gatsu ya ro! Damn Chink gunman!" Nomura was thoroughly enraged, turning to the nearby Imperial Army communications soldier and ordering, "Immediately send a telegram to the squad leader at Ryōji Slope, have them attack the Chink gunner from behind!"

"Roger!" The communications soldier immediately responded, just about to open the radio to send a message, only to hear the third gunshot. The communications soldier fell on the radio instantly, and fresh blood quickly stained the radio red.

"Counterattack... counterattack..." Nomura didn't know Chen Shaokun's exact position, but he didn't want to blindly take a beating either. So he ordered his ghost soldiers to start machine gun sweeps without any specific target.

Suddenly, intense machine gun fire, hand grenade explosions, and even rocket launcher blasts came from the woods, with bullets whizzing past Chen Shaoqin's ears.

Chen Shaoqin, however, remained exceptionally calm and unhurriedly slung a rifle over his shoulder before crawling slowly towards the north of the woods, quickly leaving the enemy's firing range.

Just as he left, the devils of Lingzi Slope heard the gunshot and rushed over, only to be knocked down by a row of bullets fired randomly in front of them. The little devils behind then began to counterattack, and both sides' firepower was mobilized, making a commotion no less than launching a large-scale battle.

"What's with the gunfire? Pak!" Nomura heard the sound of gunfire from across the way and was filled with confusion, unable to find an answer.

"Reinforcements, it must be the reinforcements of those Chinese shooters!" The Japanese captain beside Nomura said almost affirmatively, because he felt that apart from this possibility, he had no way to explain the source of the dense gunfire in front of him.
