Chapter 10: Sniping at the Devil Colonel
The devil patrol team is getting closer and closer, while Xue Yumei obviously hasn't seen it, all her attention is on that stone and the devil who is painting in the shed. This makes Chen Shaoqin very anxious, and under the helpless situation, Chen Shaoqin picked up the rifle in his hand and aimed at the little devil at the front of the patrol team.
He was well aware that it was no longer possible to remind Xue Yuemei at this time, because any sound he made here would be detected by the little devils, and by that time, he and Xue Yuemei's position would be completely exposed. A dozen or so little devils could easily surround them, and in that case, they would be in a precarious situation.
But he couldn't just watch as Xue Yumei was discovered by the Japanese patrol team and do nothing, so after thinking it over again, he still thought it would be best to warn Xue Yumei with a gunshot. After all, when those little devils heard the gunshot, their first reaction would be to figure out where the sound came from - this is the most instinctive reaction people have in times of crisis. If after he fired his shot, Xue Yumei immediately fired off a second one, these little devils would become completely flustered because they couldn't tell where the shots were coming from, and what was left would be for him to take them out one by one. So he raised the rifle in his hand, leaving the success or failure of their plan and his own life in Xue Yumei's hands, dependent on her next shot.
The little devil still had no perception, and continued to walk forward. Chen Shaoqin pulled the trigger of his right hand index finger, "Bang" a gunshot, the bullet rotated along the barrel and flew out of the gun at high speed, accurately hitting the forehead of the ghost in front, and the ghost was knocked down by the force of the bullet impact as the sound of the gunshot faded away.
The little devil behind immediately became vigilant, took off the rifle on his back, held it in his hand, pushed the bolt with the fastest speed, loaded all the bullets, and closely watched everything around.
Xue Yumei had not yet reached the back of the stone when she heard a rustling sound, and in her panic, the rifle slipped from her grasp. The butt of the gun hit the ground, and the trigger coincidentally came into contact with a tree branch. As a result of the force exerted on it, the trigger was pulled, and with a loud "bang", the bullet inside the gun was fired out. In an instant, a flock of small birds took flight from the trees.
The lieutenant-colonel of the devils inside the shed, who was painting, heard two sudden gunshots and immediately stopped his conversation, threw down his brush, took a few anxious steps to the edge of the shed, and pulled out the Type 14 Nambu pistol from his waist: "Where did the gunshot come from?"
"Director Matsuda, please don't worry, there is a squad of Imperial Guards stationed in the outer perimeter, and this place is less than four ri away from the nearest Gokuzan outpost. Even if something bad happens, I'm sure it won't pose a threat to your safety, so please be at ease!" The Japanese lieutenant immediately stepped forward to respond after hearing the major's words.
"Ah, I see!" The lieutenant-colonel of the devils also thought that the second lieutenant's analysis was not bad, so he put the gun in his hand back into its holster and returned to his easel, continuing the unfinished painting. "I really shouldn't let these things affect my creative inspiration!"
As soon as the Japanese patrol heard the gunshot from Xue Yumei's direction, they immediately turned around and crept towards her. Chen Shaoqin pulled the trigger again, firing a heart-piercing bullet that simultaneously pierced the temples of two Japanese soldiers who were standing close together, killing them instantly.
The devils were shocked and turned pale, they couldn't imagine that there was someone in the world with such a superhuman marksmanship, this really made them exude an inexplicable fear from every cell of their body. This caused their gun muzzles to lose their previous neatness, pointing in all directions, each one defending themselves separately, it was clear that they had lost their ability to rationally judge Chen Shaobin's position.
Chen Shaoqin changed his position, a pull of the bolt ejected the shell from the rifle, then another turn pushed the bolt forward, and another bullet entered the barrel of the rifle in almost one second. Immediately after that, another shot was fired, and the little devil on the left fell down with a loud noise.
In less than five seconds, Chen Shaoqin had knocked down the patrolling devils and left none alive. He then walked to Xue Yumei's side, stretched out his hand and pulled her up from where she was crouching on the ground with her ears covered, too afraid to move. He let her sit behind a rock to calm down for a bit, while he himself held the gun in his hand and walked towards that shack.
The surroundings seemed unusually quiet, as if there was no sound at all, which made the ghostly middle school student's heart uneasy. He put down his brush again and walked to the edge of the shed to observe carefully.
"Director Matsuda, sir, are you worried about something outside?" The lieutenant saw the major's uneasy appearance and stepped forward to ask, "Shall I go take a look at what's going on?"
"Roger that!" Captain replied immediately. The previous gunfire was still echoing, but suddenly there was no more gunfire, he felt something big was going to happen, so he didn't have the mood to paint anymore, and instead wanted to figure out what was going on. What had just happened again to trigger the shooting?
The lieutenant responded, turned around and was about to go see what was going on, but just as he turned around to leave, a black gun muzzle pressed against his forehead. Before he could react, the gun fired, and the lieutenant fell to the ground, twitched twice, and then couldn't move anymore.
This shot was also Chen Shaoqin's masterpiece. At this moment, he had killed the lieutenant and put the rifle on his own shoulder, coming to the middle school sergeant: "I don't understand what you want him to do! But I want to tell you that at this moment he can't help you with anything, and you're done!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a gunshot rang out, and the lieutenant colonel fell to the ground with his eyes wide open, a very clear single hole in the center of his brow, obviously another bullet from Chen Shaoguo's gun had accurately and flawlessly pierced his brow, killing him.
"What's wrong? Scared?" Chen Shaoqin collected the ammunition and came to the back of the big stone, seeing Xue Yumei trembling all over, and said.
"Who... who's afraid, it was just... just the first time shooting, no experience at all!" Xue Yumei heard Chen Shaoqin talking to herself and came back to her senses, continuing to put on a defiant look, insisting on standing up straight in front of Chen Shaoqin.
"Alright, I'll take it that you're inexperienced. Now can we move on?" Chen Shaoqin heard this and gave a soothing expression, then tossed the ammunition bag in his hand onto Xue Yumei's body, turned around and continued walking forward.
"Hey! Big oaf, how dare you?! Letting a girl carry such heavy things!" Xue Yumei carried those ammunition bags and followed Chen Shaoqin's footsteps, looking like she was going to reason with him.
At this time, all the little devils at the Gaozhuang stronghold had already set out and were rushing towards the woods where the previous gunshots came from...
