Chapter 56 "Kunming Economic Cooperation Organization"

Chapter 56 "Kunming Economic Cooperation Organization" Modern Warlord Mung Bean

China has won two wars in a row, especially after easily defeating Vietnam again, China is recognized as the number one power in Asia. Especially in the past decade, China's economy has developed rapidly, and its total economic volume has surpassed that of old capitalist countries such as Britain, Italy, and France, currently only second to the United States, making it the world's second-largest economy.

However, due to the large population of Huaxia, the per capita national income is relatively low, and it has only reached the economic level of a moderately developed country in the world. Moreover, with Lin Feng's reminder and assistance, especially the support in technology and equipment, state-owned enterprises in China have not experienced the phenomenon of large-scale bankruptcy and closure as in previous lives.

Now the mainland is dominated by state-owned enterprises, private enterprises are booming, and foreign-funded and joint-venture enterprises are struggling to survive. Why does this phenomenon appear? This is because although China has also implemented reform and opening-up policies, it has not introduced a series of preferential policies for foreign capital like in the past, mainly because China currently has abundant construction funds due to receiving numerous compensations.

At the same time, Taiwan can also provide technical and financial support to the mainland, so it does not need external support. Now that the domestic economy is booming, international financiers are envious but because of China's socialist economic system, there are many means by which they cannot easily exert their influence.

Moreover, with the development of China's economy, the mainland has learned from some of Lin Feng's practices in Taiwan, particularly in emphasizing the quality of government officials and paying attention to the lives of ordinary people. Deng also allocated shares of some state-owned enterprises on the mainland to ordinary citizens, greatly increasing their income.

With the end of China's military actions in Indochina, Chinese state capital began to land in some countries in Indochina. These capitals entered these countries in various forms of economic aid, especially Cambodia which had just been restored and Vietnam and Myanmar which had just ended conflicts with China.

King Sihanouk led a delegation to Taiwan to study economic development, and his old friend Lin Feng arranged for him to visit the achievements of Taiwan's Ten Major Construction Projects. The first China-Cambodia Economic Cooperation Conference was then held in Taipei. At this meeting, King Sihanouk again thanked China for its help to Cambodia, and Lin Feng announced that the Chinese government had decided to provide a $1 billion low-interest loan to Cambodia. Meanwhile, local Taiwanese capital had also decided to invest $500 million in setting up factories in Cambodia under Lin's matchmaking efforts.

Five days later, the first Cambodia-China economic cooperation meeting was successfully concluded. At this meeting, in order to introduce technology and capital from Taiwan, Cambodia introduced a series of preferential policies for foreign investment, including tax cuts and exemptions. Under the attraction of these favorable policies, local Taiwanese enterprises actively participated in Cambodia's economic construction. The successful convening of the meeting made King Sihanouk very happy. After the meeting, it brought nearly $3 billion in funds and a large amount of advanced technology and equipment to Cambodia.

With the end of the war, Cambodia has shifted its main focus to economic development. After the end of the civil war, King Norodom Sihanouk drastically reduced the size of Cambodia's military forces, retaining only the 30,000 national defense soldiers who were trained in Taiwan at that time, and all other armed forces were disbanded.

After returning from Taiwan, Cambodia began a vigorous and extensive construction movement nationwide, with factories under construction everywhere, making Cambodia look like one big factory.

At the same time, Myanmar and Vietnam also started economic construction like Cambodia. The two countries adopted political and economic policies similar to those of China. Three months later, the economies of these countries had a clear recovery, and domestic order was restored to normal.

After China gained these three allies in the Indochina region, China's influence in this region increased greatly, almost reaching the level of control that China had in this region in past history.

By the end of 1979, China had completed its new military reform. The army established eight Category A group armies and ten Category B group armies, excluding troops in the Taiwan region. The 11th, 13th, 14th, 41st, and 42nd Group Armies had experienced actual combat testing. In terms of the navy, the commissioning of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier "Laozi" enabled the formation of China's second aircraft carrier fleet, making China's navy the world's third-largest. Notably, China is the only country in the world that has experienced actual combat with a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, which makes even the United States dare not underestimate the combat effectiveness of China's aircraft carrier fleet. The air force, apart from nearly three hundred fourth-generation fighter jets in Taiwan, also equipped over five hundred "Flying Leopard" fighter jets on the mainland. China's air force has become one of the most powerful forces in the world, only lacking large-scale aerial combat training.

In addition, China's Chang'e 1 spacecraft has successfully returned to Earth, and China has replaced the Soviet Union as the world's second-largest aviation and aerospace power. The Soviet side is unwilling to lag behind China and the United States, and has publicly announced a new lunar landing plan, with the intention of having Soviets land on the moon within five years.

The year 1979 is about to pass, this is the tenth year Lin Feng has come into this world. The past ten years have passed in the blink of an eye. In these ten years, Lin Feng has made Taiwan a source of China's technology and economy, thoroughly trampling Japan, China's arch-nemesis, underfoot. Moreover, this year he solved the security threat on China's southwestern border with one move, greatly expanding the living space of the Chinese nation.

On New Year's Day in 1980, China held the first China-Southeast Asia Economic Cooperation Forum in Kunming, and the countries that participated in this forum included Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand. It can be said that all Southeast Asian countries except Malaysia attended this economic forum.

The Indochinese Peninsula is one of the three major peninsulas in Southeast Asia. It was formerly known as the Indian Peninsula and also as the Indo-Chinese Peninsula. Located between China and the South Asian subcontinent, it borders the Bay of Bengal, the Andaman Sea, and the Strait of Malacca to the west, and the Pacific Ocean's South China Sea to the east, serving as a bridge between East Asia and the Southeast Asian archipelagos. The southern tip of the peninsula controls the throat of the South China Sea, the Singapore Strait, and the Strait of Malacca, making it an important international shipping route with significant transportation and strategic importance.

China has already established its prestige in the region through military actions via Vietnam and Myanmar, and this economic forum is China's attempt to continue to pull these countries under its control using economic means. At the meeting, Cambodia's finance minister proposed that the nations of Indochina should unite around China and seek China's help economically and militarily.

Just like Cambodia now, Cambodia has become the country with the fastest economic development in Southeast Asia with China's help. Although Cambodia only has around 100,000 national defense troops, no surrounding countries dare to underestimate this armed force trained and equipped by China. To further strengthen ties with China, King Sihanouk's finance minister proposed at this meeting that China take the lead in uniting these countries into a new alliance to maintain stability and peace in Southeast Asia.

The Cambodian Finance Minister's proposal was warmly responded to by Vietnam and Myanmar, and Laos and Thailand dared not have any objections. Since the overthrow of the Burmese government, these two countries have greatly revised their national policies, especially vigorously promoting China's friendship and the friendship between the two countries. Now is the opportunity to improve relations with China, they also strongly agree to strengthen ties with China.

Soon, a new regional international organization with cooperation - Kunming Economic Cooperation Organization was established. The organization, apart from the five countries of Central and South Asia, is also a developing country in China. After the establishment of the organization, Western countries such as the United States, Britain, and France all wanted to get involved, but were rejected by China for various reasons.

The first meeting of the Kampuchean United Front for National Salvation was held in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, in the first half of 1980. This meeting established the structure and purpose of the organization.

Japan and Pakistan sent letters of intent to join after learning about the establishment of Kun and organization. Lin Feng's goal is to develop this organization into an economic circle dominated by Chinese Confucian culture, preparing for the future establishment of the "Greater China Alliance" and accumulating experience.

The Great Chinese Alliance will be Lin Feng's main force against the West, which will be the foundation for China to dominate the earth and compete for dominance in the universe. The Great Chinese Alliance will take Confucian culture's "benevolence and righteousness" as its core, promoting China's "emotional" culture to counter Western utilitarianism and "ruthless" culture.

If the Great China Alliance is established now, it may lead to resistance from neighboring countries and other countries in the world. Therefore, Lin Feng suggested that the central government first establish a Kunhe organization and then slowly absorb neighboring countries to join, and wait for the opportunity to mature before turning into the alliance in Lin Feng's mind.

Most countries in Asia have been deeply influenced by Chinese culture throughout history, but due to China's backwardness in modern times, China's influence in Asia has declined sharply. However, over the past decade, China's rapid development in both economic and military aspects, particularly its victories in two border wars, has greatly enhanced China's global influence.

The Kunhe Organization was established with eight member states, including China, Pakistan, Japan and five Central Asian countries. Among them, five are iron-clad allies of China. As the predecessor to the Greater China Alliance, the organization's purpose is to prioritize economic cooperation as its main goal and military cooperation as a supplement. With this organization, China has an excuse to interfere in the affairs of these countries, achieving the goal of controlling these countries.

The formation of the Kun and organization has made Southeast Asian countries more fearful, especially since China has reasonably obtained the right to station troops on the Indochinese peninsula. China has established a naval base in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam, deployed some air force fighter squadrons in Yangon, Myanmar, and set up a naval training base in the Coco Islands of Myanmar, marking the first time Chinese military power has entered the Indian Ocean.

From now on, the Indochinese Peninsula will be China's backyard, and any actions that disrupt peace and stability in this region will no longer be tolerated.
