Chapter 32: Since we cant live together, Ill accompany you in death

Chapter 32: In life we cannot be together, I am willing to accompany you in death.

In the infirmary of the jungle, Dye was busily and nervously working.

A special forces soldier lay on the stretcher, his left leg a bloody mess, fresh blood constantly seeping out of the bullet-torn pants, staining the stretcher a deep red.

"Just bear with it for a moment, it'll be fine!"

Dai'er comforted him, cutting open the wounded soldier's pants with scissors while stretching out a hand behind her: "Anesthetic!"

"Captain, it's gone!" Little Fire said softly behind Dai'er.

Dai'er was stunned upon hearing this.

She didn't expect that so many anesthetics would be used up in such a short time. Turning back, she looked at Huo Er: "Didn't we have over ten left just now?"

Looking at Dai'er's seemingly angry face, Huo'er lowered his head in grievance.

Xiao Yue heard it from the side and walked over to replace Huo Er to answer this question, "Aren't those remaining ones supposed to be given to the medical team of the 29th Army? They've asked for them three times already!"

Dai'er was stunned. Just now, she was busy and didn't pay much attention to it. She just gave some to whoever asked for them, not expecting to create such an awkward situation.

From Xiao Yue's tone, Dai Er could also hear that she was not very satisfied with her own actions, but this couldn't be blamed on her. After all, the special forces and the 29th Army had only interacted for a short time, and their emotions weren't deep. But she knew she was different from them, when Qin Yang decided to come to Ji Zhou, she decided to fully support everything he did.

"If Qin Gege were here and encountered such a situation, he would also agree with my approach!" Dai'er thought to herself, not regretting her actions.

"What's going on now?" Xiao Yue saw Dai Er standing there in a daze, and her heart also ached for her. After all, she had been the busiest and most hardworking since the start of the war!

Dai'er looked at the wounded man lying on the stretcher and for a moment didn't know what to do.

Without anesthesia, if surgery is performed directly, the wounded may not be able to bear that kind of heart-wrenching pain, and they might die from it.

Just as Della and the others were at a loss, not knowing what to do, the special forces team member who was lying on the stretcher and had fallen into a semi-comatose state slowly opened his eyes, looked at Della and Xiao Yue, and said in a weak voice: "You find me a branch as thick as my thumb, make sure it's sturdy!"

Dai'er was taken aback when she heard the wounded soldier's request, but soon understood what he meant and wanted to stop him. However, when they saw the determination in the special forces' wounded eyes, they knew that dissuading him would be futile.

Every moment of hesitation adds an increment of danger.

Huǒ ér bēn chū mén qù, hěn kuài qì chuǎn xī de pǎo le huí lái, shǒu lǐ ná zhe yī gēn bàn chǐ lái cháng là zhú jī de shù zhī, tā yóu yù le yī xià, hái shì dì gěi le shāng yuán de miàn qián.

The wounded man endured the pain and forced a smile, then reached out to take a branch, opened his mouth and placed the branch horizontally in his mouth, biting it with his teeth.

Dawn nodded slightly, and the wounded man closed his eyes.

Dai'er's hands trembled as she approached the wounded man. She took two deep breaths to calm her heart, then reached out and picked up the forceps.

Blood was constantly gushing out of the wound, making the surrounding area blurry. The bullet head was deeply embedded in the wound and couldn't be seen from the outside. Della had no choice but to insert the tweezers into the wound.

As the forceps probed into the wound, the wounded man let out a muffled groan from his throat, his hands grasping tightly onto the handrails on both sides of the stretcher. Under the immense force, the bamboo handrails made cracking sounds and cracks appeared on the round bamboo rods.

"Hold on, you must hold on, it'll be fine soon!" Xiao Yue and Huo Er kept wiping away the cold sweat that kept appearing on his forehead, softly encouraging him.

Dai'er's forceps, which had been probing deep into the wound, finally touched something hard. By feel alone, she knew it couldn't be a bone in her leg; it had to be that wicked bullet. So she carefully grasped it with the forceps and pulled outward.

The bullet was stuck very tightly, and Dye's movements had no obvious effect, the bullet remained firmly in place, motionless at a distance.

Time passed minute by minute and second by second, but the bullet was still not taken out.

Dai'er took a look at the special forces member who was pale due to excessive blood loss, gritted her teeth, and with a pair of tweezers clamped onto the bullet, suddenly gave a fierce tug.

The wounded man's body suddenly stiffened, a low growl like that of a wild beast came from his chest, the bamboo handrail could no longer bear it, and with a "crack" sound, it shattered into several pieces.

  "when"

Dai'er threw the bullet head from the forceps into a nearby tray, and with quick hands and feet, helped the wounded disinfect, stop bleeding, and bandage. After the bullet was removed, it became much easier, and soon everything was taken care of.

The wounded man looked at Dye with gratitude, whispered a thank you, and fainted.

Dai'er watched as the wounded were carried out, picked up a branch with clear teeth marks on it, and remained silent.

Just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief, the tent suddenly opened and Tie Tou burst in from outside.

The one who came was Tie Tou. Xiao Yue's heart first felt a surge of joy, but then her face sank: "You're not at the front line, how did you run back? Say, are you a deserter?"

Tie Tou's face was gloomy, and he didn't respond to Xiao Yue's question. Instead, he said to Dai Er: "Dai Er Captain, as the acting instructor, I order the medical team to move immediately with the troops and return to the command center!"

Dai'er and Xiao Yue were both stunned, they didn't know what Tie Tou meant by this.

"You're the deputy instructor, what about Instructor Qin?"

  "Coach he...he..." Tie Tou muttered.

Dai'er looked up at him with a gaze that was fixed intently on Tie Tou, who was half a head taller than him. It seemed he wouldn't rest until he got an answer from Tie Tou.

Xiao Yue and Huo Er also became anxious, both urging him on.

Iron Head had no choice but to have Qin Yang appoint him as acting instructor and lead the team back to the command center, recounting their journey along the way.

During the listening process, Dai Er didn't say a word, she quietly listened.

"That's what happened, let's go back first, he stayed on the battlefield!" After finishing the story, Tie Tou also looked very anxious, but there was no way: "I also wanted to stay, but the instructor wouldn't allow it!"

After listening to Tie Tou's account, Dai Er almost without thinking gave the order to the medical team, letting the team members pack up their things and take the wounded back to the command center with the special forces.

"Xiao Yue, when I'm not around, you'll be in charge of the medical team as their leader. The sisters on the medical team will be under your care!" Dai'er said.

Xiao Yue suddenly understood what Dai'er wanted to do, and anxiously grabbed onto Dai'er, her voice trembling: "Dai'er, don't be so impulsive, you clearly know that going back will mean certain death, then what's the point of going?"

"It's precisely because I know going back will mean certain death that I want to go back and be by his side, do you understand?" Daisy cried out: "If being alive means I can't be by his side to take care of him, then I'm willing to die with him!"

Everyone in the house was stunned and didn't know what to say. Now any persuasion is superfluous!

Dai'er removed the captain's armband and stuffed it into Xiao Yue's somewhat bewildered hands, then picked up her own assault rifle from the tent and walked out.

"Dai'er, wait!" Xiao Yue shouted, stopping Dai'er. She took off the grenades and bullets from her own body and hung them on Dai'er's instead. She smoothed out the wrinkles in Dai'er's clothes with her hands and said, tears in her eyes: "Dai'er, you must live well, our sisters are waiting to reunite with you!"

Dai'er was tearfully embracing Xiao Yue, and Huo'er rushed over with the other two, all five of them hugging together.

"My goodness! This has made me feel uneasy too!" Tie Tou wiped his eyes with his hand.

Dai'er let them go and ran towards the tents, stopping at the door and turning back to reveal a melancholic smile.

  "Take care of yourselves, sisters!"
