Chapter Fifty: Bar Brawl
He lay on the ground, following the flow of wine to lick towards the broken bottle. Just as I thought of going up to pull him up, a foot wearing military boots suddenly stepped into the wine and blocked Ha Wei's "route". At this time, Ha Wei finally raised his head and looked at the owner of the foot in a daze, obviously recognizing who had kicked him down. However, he didn't counterattack, but instead very dispiritedly bypassed the foot and picked up the broken bottle behind, pouring the remaining wine into his mouth.
The owner of the foot kicked away the broken wine bottle in Ha Wei's hand and said, "Blood Warrior, lick the wine off my shoe clean, and I'll buy you a bottle of wine, how about that?" The people around them burst into laughter again!
After hearing this, Ha Wei actually considered it for a moment and lowered his head to lick that guy's boots. I couldn't sit still anymore, killing someone is just a matter of nodding one's head, but humiliating someone like this was too much. I stood up, reached out to grab Ha Wei, pulled him up, turned around and wanted to take him to the side table to sit down, when suddenly a large hand pressed against my shoulder from behind.
"Hey! Kid, who told you to meddle in other people's business? Are you asking for a beating? Want me to loosen your bones?" It was that arrogant guy.
I turned my head to look at him, not speaking but staring fixedly into his eyes. His eyes were brown and shifty. Neither of us spoke. I don't know what my expression was like, but he couldn't bear to meet my gaze and lowered his head, then immediately realized that this was very unmanly and mustered up the courage to lift his head again to face me squarely. However, as soon as our eyes met, he involuntarily looked away again, even the muscles on his face twitching. Within two seconds, he had lowered his head again, not daring to look at me. The hand that was on my shoulder also relaxed its grip. I led Ha Wei to sit down by the table at the side and got him a bottle of wine.
"Daruto! What's wrong with you? Why did you let him go? Did you take the wrong medicine?" The guys who came up alongside him started jeering and shouting.
"You don't need to care about my business... Wait until the boss comes and then we'll talk."
I didn't notice what he was saying because I saw REDBACK and the butcher push open the door and walk in, and when they saw me, they walked over.
"What brings you here to hide in the quiet?" The butcher ordered a whiskey and sat down beside me, while REDBACK also ordered a brandy and sat on my right side.
"No big deal, just thinking of something that's been bothering me! Let's go out for a walk. Does REDBACK know you're sneaking out to drink?" I didn't want to talk about myself, so I tried to shift the topic to REDBACK.
"Let's not change the subject... What does it have to do with me? I didn't want to stay in that dirty place, so I ran out. Besides, I'm an adult now, and I'm not a nun, why can't I drink? I just want to try it. And he said he wants to see you, if you're free, go find him...". REDBACK took a sip of cognac and scrunched up his face from the strong liquor.
"Don't drink anymore... You don't often drink, and this wine is strong, it's easy to get drunk..." I tried to grab the cup from REDBACK's hand. But she wouldn't let go, and the two of us struggled back and forth for half a day, but I still couldn't get the cup away from her.
"Are you Ha Wei? Ha Wei. Daisen? Blood Warrior? How did you become like this?" The butcher's voice interrupted my struggle with REDBACK, I stopped and looked at the butcher: "Do you know him?"
"Of course, the Blood Warrior, the most notorious mercenary of the 70s. He was almost on every battlefield, back then mercenaries were paid peanuts, just a few thousand dollars per battle, but I heard he made hundreds of millions! Think about how many battles he fought? And managed to survive, every time covered in the blood of his enemies and comrades, that's why they called him the Blood Warrior." This is the first time I've seen Butcher speak so much at once.
"That's right, it's me... Do you know me? Then please buy me a drink!" Harvey said dazedly, lifting his head and looking at the butcher.
"What the...?! How did you become like this?! Don't you recognize me? I'm Ivan, the Butcher... We've met before and shared a meal together..." The Butcher frowned, sizing up the disheveled and beggar-like Ha Wei.
"Oh. Are we acquaintances or comrades? Then you should treat me to a drink even more!..." Ha Yu's big mouth was open, revealing half of his front teeth as he smiled at Chu Tong.
The butcher ordered another cup of wine for him to drink, then sighed and said: "In the past when I just joined the mercenary group, this guy was still my idol. How did he become a virtuous person now?"
I quietly told the butcher that Ha Wei had killed his own son, and he nodded in understanding. Sighing, he said: "What a tragedy! What a tragedy! This guy is quite pitiful."
"My ass! You can also say the word tragedy with your mouth? I thought you didn't even know how to write the character for 'cruel'!" Seeing the butcher's sentimental words surprised me more than seeing a cow eating meat. Cruel? I think anyone who knows you, whether friend or foe, is already miserable enough. Enemies are tormented by you, friends are toyed with by you."
"It's too pitiful for a hero to end up like this, it would be better if he died on the battlefield! Heh heh! Why don't I just finish him off now and spare my idol from further tarnishing?" The butcher rubbed his hands together.
I'm too familiar with his actions, this guy thinks of seeing blood when he's in this state. It turns out that being an idol for this guy is also so dangerous! If you're not careful, you'll be done for...
Just as I was worried about how to stop the butcher, I felt someone approaching from behind and a voice came: "Silver-haired girl! Looks good, how much money? Brothers want to have fun with you!"
I knew without turning my head that it was one of the guys from earlier who had been humiliated by Harvey. I hadn't even made a sound when I heard the guy let out a loud "Ah!" and turned around to see REDBACK's hand slap down on the guy's groin, sending him flying two centimeters into the air before crashing to the ground, where he curled up into a ball and continued to roll around in agony. With her strength, I estimated that this little punk wouldn't be able to get out of bed for at least half a year.
"Haha! Haha! This chick is quite spicy!" The people in the bar saw that something exciting was happening and all came to join in, these people were originally looking for trouble but now they had a free show to watch so they were delighted. They pulled their tables open to clear out space to prepare for the spectacle. Looking around, everyone seemed used to it, even the bartender didn't care.
I've always wanted to keep a low profile and not cause trouble, but this kid can't mess with anyone, actually dared to flirt with REDBACK. No matter what, REDBACK is now my woman, no matter what she thinks, her business is my business from now on. This fight is definitely going down.
The butcher and I stood up ready to fight, I put my hand on the grip of my gun, but was stopped by the butcher. "Mercenary rules, in a non-combat zone city, you can't use guns when fighting. Don't draw your gun!"
I pulled my hand back on the gun handle, it seems that I'm going to have a close combat, just what I wanted! These days I've been studying the martial arts my brother forced me to learn before and some ideas I came up with during my own practice. Having made some progress, this is a great opportunity for me to put them into practice.
I shrugged and stood shoulder to shoulder with the butcher, REDBACK raised his cup and downed the remaining wine in one gulp, then slammed the cup down and also stood up, looking like he was ready to take action.
"That... REDBACK!"
"What?"
"Hmm... never mind, I won't mention it!" I originally wanted to stop her from getting involved, but seeing her innocent and eager expression, I changed my mind. After all, she's not an ordinary woman, and looking at her with a condescending attitude would be an insult. Still, I couldn't help but add: "Be careful!"
Redback stared at me blankly for a moment, but quickly regained his composure, smiled mysteriously and nodded silently. It was only then that I refocused my scattered attention and scrutinized my opponent intently.
Across from them stood seventeen people, among whom was a tall and sturdy black man, looking to be over two meters high, like a black tower. This guy wasn't with them when they came in earlier, probably the "boss" they were talking about earlier. No wonder they had the guts to provoke us, just by looking at this guy's appearance is enough to intimidate people.
"Black Iron. So it's you! No wonder these little rascals dare to jump out and bark wildly. What, thinking of avenging the last time? Don't think about avenging if you haven't already been crippled by me again." The butcher was teasing that big black guy with his eerie voice.
"Butcher, others may fear you, but I don't. Last time's debt, I must get it back, and now that I've finally caught you alone, this time I will definitely take you down." Hei Da Ge's voice was quite magnetic.
"Ass! Do you have a grudge? Why didn't you say so earlier?" It seems that this fight isn't aimed at me or Ha Wei, but rather REDBACK is just an excuse to start a war. The root of the problem lies with Butcher.
"What? You're scared? Don't worry, just stand aside and watch. I can handle this bunch of trash on my own." The butcher shook his head, ready to start fighting.
I didn't say a word, I just slowly started practicing my qigong. My hard qigong was taught by my brother, who learned it from a high-ranking official's bodyguard after spending a lot of money. This method is much faster than regular hard qigong and is suitable for emergency situations on the battlefield. As his younger brother, I got to learn it for free, but at the time, I didn't appreciate it until he beat me up badly and I seriously practiced for two months. Now that I think about it, I really regret it, fortunately, my memory is good and I recently recalled it again and started practicing, the effect is still okay.
I took a deep breath, and a surge of heat flowed from my abdomen around my lower back down to my legs and up to my shoulders. My muscles tensed instantly and swelled with blood, and slowly my originally loose-fitting military uniform began to be stretched tight, as if it would tear apart at any moment.
"Hard Qigong! Good kid, how did I not know you knew this skill? No wonder when we first met and you blocked the crossbow arrow, you shouted out 'Hard Qigong'! It turns out it's not that you've seen little, but you've also seen Hard Qigong of that level before!" The butcher exclaimed in surprise as he took off his shirt, revealing a physique like a small mountain.
"You don't know how many things!" I also felt that clothes were a hindrance and took them off too.
"Don't think that just because you've gained a few pounds and learned some hard qigong, you can beat me. I'm not someone to be trifled with!" The butcher said as he punched down an enemy who had pounced on him. The guy was knocked flying by the butcher's punch, crashing into the table more than two meters away. With his weight of over 100 kilograms added to the acceleration of the fall, the table was directly smashed into splintered wooden blocks.
I didn't know how to react, so I used the butcher as a reference and set a standard. Just then, a guy rushed over with an arrow step, throwing a hook punch at my abdomen. The punch was aimed at my liver, which would cause temporary physical dysfunction if hit. This is a common move in boxing, not a killing technique, because it's not fatal. So I thought I'd try out my hard qigong training and didn't dodge, taking the punch head-on.
My fist hit his abs, and I felt a huge impact, but no pain. I knew this guy was far inferior to me, he's not even worthy! My brother once said that after practicing hard qigong, it's not that you can't feel the pain, but rather your tolerance for impact increases. In other words, no matter how big the impact is, you won't lose your ability to counterattack due to pain. If it's not an opponent of the same level, a hit on the body won't be felt as painful.
The combination of punches landed on my body and face, but only made me shake my head slightly. This guy clearly didn't expect an Asian to be able to withstand such a beating. I took advantage of his momentary stunned state and grabbed his neck with one hand, lifting him up single-handedly. His 150 pounds or so felt like a small bundle to me. I swung my arm in a circle and slammed him against the wall like a pancake, only hearing the sound of the windows on the wall shaking loudly. The guy bounced back like a rubber ball, knocking over a table before landing on the ground motionless, unsure if he was dead or alive.
"Whoa!" I hadn't even turned around when a gust of wind came from behind me, and as I spun my head around, I saw a guy jump up with a Muay Thai-style knee strike, flying straight for my head. Relying on my sturdy qigong training, I didn't retreat or dodge, but instead raised both arms to block the attack, letting his knee strike land squarely on my forearm. The intense pain shooting through my arm told me this guy was the real deal, much stronger than the last one. Before I could even recover and counterattack, a tight grip clamped down on the back of my head. Ah, "Headbutt!" - the name of Muay Thai's most infamous move flashed into my mind. And indeed, just as I thought it, a fierce impact struck my abdomen, confirming my suspicions. This guy was clearly much more ruthless than the previous one, each strike aimed squarely at my soft ribs on both sides, making them crackle with a "Ka-ba! Ka-ba!" sound that seemed to shake my very bones. If not for the thick abdominal muscles and internal energy I had just cultivated, which wrapped around my ribcage like a protective shield, they would have been shattered into pieces by now. I quickly grabbed his waist and pressed down on his thighs with both palms, preventing him from lifting his legs again, but just as the crisis below was averted, the hands gripping the back of my head suddenly released their hold. A downward elbow strike came crashing down onto my left temple, sending stars flying before my eyes. My head hadn't even steadied itself when another gust of wind whizzed past my right ear, and I hastily raised my hand to block it - a glancing blow from an elbow strike that would have otherwise landed squarely on me.
A flurry of attacks came like a storm, this guy must have been practicing Muay Thai since he was young, otherwise he wouldn't be so skilled and natural. Although I took several hits, thanks to my hard qigong training, I didn't suffer any serious injuries, just some superficial pain that went away quickly. As he leaned back and raised his elbow to strike my nose, I took advantage of the distance to suddenly exert force and heavily collide my eyebrow with his face, smashing him so hard that he covered his nose and shook his head, temporarily losing direction. Then, a knife-hand strike landed on his neck, and my fingers chopped at his nape, just like breaking a plastic tube, producing a "crack" sound. This guy immediately clutched his neck and knelt to the ground. After dodging a wine bottle thrown from behind, before his accomplice could rush over, I grabbed his hair and slammed his head against the bar counter with great force, knocking off a piece of the counter edge, shattering his nose into two segments, and then kicked him in the ribs, breaking two of them and sending him tumbling to one side.
The third one used Israeli close combat technique, with both hands shoulder-width apart and a side kick that looked like Chinese Sanshou. Since I'm familiar with this type of close combat, I often spar with him. Relying on my hard qigong, I took his kick directly to the waist, but it was actually a feint, meant to make me dodge so he could use his fingers to poke my throat. However, I didn't budge, and his kick didn't have much force. With one hand, I grabbed hold of his left leg, which made him uncomfortable. He lifted his right leg to kick my chest, but if I hadn't dodged, he would have used the momentum to pull his left leg out of my grasp. As it was, I leaned back and let his leg kick over my shoulder. With my left hand, I chopped down at his calf with force, breaking his fibula.
As soon as I loosened my grip, he let out a miserable cry and pulled back his left leg. However, as soon as his foot touched the ground, his leg went soft and he fell to the ground. Before his head even hit the floor, I kicked him in the face with one foot, sending his body flying like a soccer ball, crashing into countless tables and chairs.
"Hit him hard! Kill him!" "Smash his face in!" The people around me were shouting and screaming wildly, the intense music stirring my ferocity. A beastly energy surged up to my chest, which was about to burst, I caught the enemy who was flying towards me with a butcher's blow, like a wooden stick, and slammed him heavily onto my knee, breaking his spine like a broken wooden rod, lying across my leg.
I had just taken down the fourth guy when I was suddenly hit from behind by a heavy object. I turned around to see that it was some poor guy who had been knocked flying by REDBACK. It was then that I noticed that REDBACK wasn't using her usual brutal tactics, but instead was using Jeet Kune Do. I knew she was strong, but I didn't realize her movements were so agile and quick, like a small cat. Her punches were fast and powerful, and the guys she hit were all knocked flying with their mouths bleeding. What's more, when she saw me watching her, she even imitated Bruce Lee's "hi-yah!" shout twice, which was really funny. She clearly didn't take these guys seriously at all.
Just as I was distracted, a sharp pain shot through my left cheek, and a heavy fist hit my chin, sending me flying over a meter away, knocking down several people and tables. Many bottles of wine smashed against my face, with some liquor even entering my nostrils, causing me to cough violently. Before I could even make a sound, another wave of pain shot through my chin, and when I touched it, I found that it had been dislocated!
I sprang up, supporting my chin, and saw that it was that guy called Hei Tie. No wonder he had such great strength, comparable to a big bear. I wasn't careful and he actually knocked my chin down. Damn! I held my chin, pinched the joint in front of my ear, aligned the bone ring, and pushed upwards with force. With a loud "crack" sound, my chin was quickly restored to its original position. I opened my mouth and moved my jaw joint around, feeling a bit uncomfortable with a sour pain.
I didn't expect this big black guy to pick on me first, how unlucky! Do you have a grudge against the butcher or something, why are you taking it out on me? I'm slowly getting angry while circling around the table with him, that last hit wasn't light, my head is still dizzy now. This is just super ridiculous... If not for my hard qigong training, my neck would have been broken already...
I shook my head to drive away the dizziness, and slapped my cheeks with both hands. The pain quickly awakened the brain's function, and my body not only recovered its function but also became much more agile. Originally, I didn't want to use my newly acquired kung fu skills because they weren't yet familiar to me. I wanted to practice them well before using them to take revenge on that butcher. But looking at the situation now, if I don't use it, I'll be finished. Forced by circumstances, I had no choice but to use it.
The black iron opposite me pulled open the table in front of me with a loud crash, and rushed towards me with big strides, his shoulder charging towards my chest. This kind of collision is what tall people like him love to use, and Big Bear often uses it too. I know that even if I have strong internal energy, I won't be able to withstand it if I get hit once.
I also rushed towards him, and just as we were about to collide, I suddenly dodged to the side, letting his shoulder pass by mine. With one swift motion, my hand slid along his smooth head, my fingers pinching his chin, grasping his lower jaw. My palm supported and pushed at the same time, transmitting a tight and loose sensation through my arm. My heart skipped a beat: done!
Hei Tie rushed past my side, didn't stand firm and fell to the ground with a thud, clutching his chin and humming for a while before getting up. When I took another look, his mouth was crooked. Done! I had dislocated his jaw.
Hei Tie wouldn't let go, holding his chin and humming while picking up the wine bottle next to him and throwing it over. I dodged one by one. Just as I was busy avoiding Hei Tie's hidden weapons, there was a loud crash behind me. I only felt a shock on my head, and a stream of liquid flowed from the top of my head down to my mouth, which tasted sweet. When I turned my head, it was a young man who had sneaked up behind me and hit me with a wine bottle. The wine spilled all over my neck, and I didn't know if my head was injured or not.
When I turned around, that guy swung the broken bottle in his hand at me. I was annoyed and thought that fighting didn't require any tools, but he actually used a deadly weapon, which was truly despicable. As soon as I got angry, I stretched out three fingers to grab his wrist, pinched the joint capsule, and twisted it with force, causing his hand to be dislocated. After dislocating it, I still didn't feel relieved and gave it another hard twist, causing him so much pain that he immediately knelt down in front of me, limp and paralyzed. I kicked him in the stomach with one foot, sending him flying up, but I didn't let go, pulling his left hand back to me instead. Only then did I release my grip, watching as he clutched his hand and vomited there. This time, his joint capsule was damaged, and his ligaments were torn, rendering his left hand useless; even after recovery, he could only hold a cigarette.
I was admiring my masterpiece when a miserable cry came from behind, I turned around to see the butcher locking Black Iron's left arm from behind and trying to break his hand with force. Black Iron kept crying out in pain but the butcher seemed not to hear it as he chuckled and increased his strength, Black Iron's thick arms made a "crack crack" sound like grinding soybeans, which sounded pleasant to my ears.
There are no more enemies standing around, REDBACK is making an effort to kick someone's face, I don't know what that guy did to offend her, his face was kicked into a pulp and REDBACK still doesn't intend to stop.
As I was scanning the battlefield, looking for any remaining "live forces", I heard a familiar sound next to me - "click!" - the sound of a gun's safety being released. I turned my head and saw a black hole staring back at me - the muzzle of a P7M13 pistol held by the guy whose left arm I had broken, his face twisted in a crazed expression as he took aim at me.
My instincts kicked in, a loud "bang" sounded, and the bullet grazed my nose bridge, flying right past my face. I was drenched in cold sweat. Before he could fire his second shot, Redback, who was standing beside me, had already jumped over, unable to stop the first shot but preventing the second one. With a swift kick to his wrist, he directly severed his right hand, and the handgun fell to the ground.
I sat on the edge of the chair, covered in cold sweat, and it took me a long time to come back to my senses. I almost saw the trajectory of the bullet flying in front of me just now. What a close call!
Before I came to my senses, I rushed over in an instant, grabbed the guy's hand with one hand, pulled over a table, pressed it upwards, and drew out a military knife to nail his right hand to the table.
"Damn it! I'll screw your mom! Screw you!" I cursed as I beat the guy up. Without regard for his life or death, I grabbed a nearby wine bottle and smashed it on his head.
The scene just now was really thrilling, at that time there was nothing, but now the more I think about it, the more I'm afraid. I've seen countless guys with their heads blown off by bullets, their entire face flying off. I almost ended up like that! And to die in a small bar at the hands of an incompetent fool, the more I think about it, the angrier I get, and my fists clenched tighter, crazily punching that guy. If the bartender next to me hadn't fired a warning shot, I wouldn't have stopped.
"Listen up, I'm the only one who can fire a gun in this bar. Any objections? You want to fight, fine, but no killing, I don't want any lawsuits on my hands. Now you bunch of unruly bastards pay your tabs and get out." The bartender surprisingly pulled out a submachine gun, giving me quite a shock.
Looking at the submachine gun in Jiu Bao's hand, no one could do anything about it and had to give up. I angrily pulled out the military knife stuck in that guy's hand, pushed him hard, and he fell to the ground like a puddle of mud. Then I picked up my clothes and slowly walked out of the bar with Zhu Hou. When we reached the door, Zhu Hou turned his head and said to Hei Tie, who had lost both arms: "Hei Tie, next time your arms grow back, come find me again and I'll break them for you! Remember, my name is Zhu Hou, and he's Shi Gui!! This time, consider it a treat from you!" Unexpectedly, Zhu Hou left but still left his name behind.
The three of us had just walked onto the main street and hadn't taken two steps when we heard the sound of police sirens. Two riot control vehicles drove up from the intersection and stopped in front of the bar we had just left. A large group of riot police got out and started walking towards us.
"Run quickly! Don't get caught, or else there won't be any good fruit to eat..." The butcher waved goodbye and took off running. I hadn't even come back to my senses when REDBACK and the butcher had already slipped into a small alley and escaped. And it wasn't until I saw the police officer pointing at me with his baton that I realized there had been gunshots and so many people were seriously injured, if I got caught I would be done for. I quickly ran, with several police officers chasing after me from behind.
Because I wasn't familiar with the road, I ran into a dead end several times. If my physical strength hadn't improved so much now, I would have been caught by climbing over the wall that was more than three meters high. As it was, I managed to shake off the police after knocking out two guys who were closely following me.
After I got rid of the police, I realized I was lost! Made a phone call to find Butcher, only to know he had run back to the vicinity of the bar where the incident happened earlier. I quietly ran back there too. Found Butcher and REDBACK in a small bar, we three were drinking while watching the handling process across the street until midnight before it ended. It wasn't until then that we ran back to start our Hummer.
Sitting in the car, I hadn't even asked Butcher what was going on when my phone rang. I answered it and it turned out to be Genius, saying that he had already taken care of all the weapons I had listed for him and told me to go check them out, also asking me to bring everyone along. I curiously told Butcher about this, and then we all decided to head to the Wolf Pack base to see what kind of good stuff Genius had bought back with my $1 million.
