Section 11 Platoon Building

  The Eleventh Section: Building Company

"Now that we've taken the first step, I have a preliminary idea. Let's think together about how to restore the vitality of the 8th company in the shortest time possible." Liu Mingjiu said after everyone sat down. On his way to Linglong Tower, Liu Mingjiu had organized the orders, logic and rules he memorized as a new recruit in his previous life. However, looking at the reality before him, this group of sloppy soldiers, he didn't know how much could really be used, and whether they could execute and use them well. So he called over his 18 brave warriors, but since he had just arrived at this unit, he still had some reservations deep down about the old-timers in the 8th company, so he didn't call them.

Wu Tongjin looked at Liu Mingjiu, who was leaning against a small cabinet (a northeastern term for furniture in the past, still used today), and took over the conversation: "I don't know what kind of clever idea Lian Zhang will come up with next. I believe that whatever you think of, we brothers should have a hard time adding to or changing it."

After Liu Mingjiu fell off the cliff and came back, everyone in the team just felt that he had changed, but Wu Tongjin, who was good at guessing his superiors' thoughts, discovered more strange things. First of all, many times, the things Liu Mingjiu came up with were completely different from those of Yi Jun and other Beiyang Army soldiers, yet they were all very practical. Then there was the fact that after Liu Mingjiu woke up, he was completely different from before. Because when he first joined the fourth company as a squad leader, Wu Tongjin, who was good at analyzing people, had already seen through him. He was just a bookworm who mixed with the world in a military middle school. But after he woke up, whether it was his behavior or his handling of affairs, he seemed to have already surpassed the maturity and competence that someone of his age should have, so Wu Tongjin chose to observe this greatly changed superior silently for most of the time.

"There's actually nothing much to say, I just feel that our current troop's organization and management are somewhat inadequate, so I thought of some ways to change it up a bit, but I don't know if they'll work. Liu Mingjiu had long discovered the biggest difference between Wu Tongjin and other officials and soldiers. This person rarely speaks much on his own initiative, most of the time he listens to others finish speaking before summarizing everyone's opinions and adding his own thoughts. Sometimes Liu Mingjiu even feels a sense of crisis in front of him, because someone like this, if they were to play politics, as long as they have good luck, could become an emperor."

"Alright, Commander Long, stop pretending to be mysterious with your brothers. What's on your mind? Just say it and we'll discuss it together. Whether it works or not, it's up to you to decide, but by sharing your thoughts, we can all help think of a more comprehensive plan. Just spit it out already." Commander Tongquan's impatient temper was something that would never change, and before Liu Mingjiu could finish speaking, he had already cut in.

Liu Mingjiu helplessly looked at this subordinate who was older than himself but still obviously immature, shook his head and continued to speak. First, he mentioned the change in the battalion's command system, establishing a seven-level continuous system consisting of company commander, deputy company commander, chief of staff, platoon leader, platoon deputy, squad leader, and squad deputy.

The deputy squad leader is mainly responsible for fully assisting and coordinating the squad leader in all aspects of work. The class leader and deputy class leader have the same responsibilities as the squad leader, but are only responsible for the work of their own class.

"I'm telling you, Lieutenant Colonel, what's wrong with your head? You got hurt a little and became so fierce? These rules and regulations of the army, it seems like you didn't learn them at all?" On one side, Luo Xiliang couldn't help but speak up after Liu Mingjiu finished; he was now more and more surprised by this Lieutenant Colonel. He just couldn't understand how a simple fall could change him so much that he became completely unrecognizable.

Liu Mingjiu looked at the stunned crowd, and in fact, he just flipped out what he remembered from his previous life in the army: "I haven't finished yet, there's also 'Three Main Disciplines and Eight Points of Attention', which must be implemented. I don't want our Eighth Company to be scolded by people as 'worse than bandits and darker than security guards' behind our backs. Without the support of the common people, once the enemy comes, no matter how hard we try, we'll be defeated again."

"What's with the three major disciplines and eight points of attention? Commander, what kind of brain do you have? How many more rules are there?!" Qi Quan couldn't help but look at Liu Mingjiu with a puzzled face: "If you have something comprehensive, can you write it down or say it out loud? Don't make us brothers squeeze oil from sesame seeds, we've followed you all the way up this mountain road."

"Heh heh, okay, then I'll tell you all the ideas I've come up with, but you must promise me that from now on, you will unconditionally follow me and carry them out together. If not, in the future, if nothing's going on, I'll just pretend to be Tang Seng (a Buddhist monk) and instead of reciting scriptures with you, I'll reason with you." As soon as Liu Mingjiu finished speaking, his old subordinates all started shouting in agreement. This term "Tang Seng" was something that Liu Mingjiu's subordinates had already known about since he woke up, every time he wanted to do ideological work on someone, he would always say "Let's learn from Tang Seng", the result was that he would nag and persuade those people until they were all scared and convinced.

Liu Mingjiu saw that his subordinates were all afraid of him, so he threw out the rules and regulations that he remembered from his past life in the military, which he thought were still suitable for use in his current unit. Of course, in his previous life, they had military medals, but in this era, even he couldn't get one, and the military equipment was not something that a small company commander like him could fully control. So after integrating the rules and regulations, he announced thirty articles to his subordinates.

The subordinates listened and didn't speak for a long time. Then it was your turn to argue, one word at a time. The meeting finally ended after more than three hours, and the new eight-line order, regulations, and training outline were finalized. Liu Mingjiu was exhausted, and after everyone left, he fell asleep soundly on the warm kang that had been heated by the cooking class.
