Section 18 Exterminate Arsonists

The 14th Section Assault Team annihilated Soviet arsonists

"Our Kalmyk assault unit, under the personal arrangement of the Führer, carried out a mopping-up operation in areas such as Somovo village in the rear of the German army. The goal was to search for and destroy Soviet commando units that had infiltrated the German rear, especially those disguised as SS men who were burning and killing Russian civilians...". The Kalmyks did not forget the outstanding leader's achievements, but were interrupted by a hubbub - the SS officers became indignant, not because the Soviets killed their own people to provoke relations between the Germans and the locals, but because the Soviets dared to impersonate the SS, tarnishing their reputation.

The Kalmyk stood before the map of one in thirty million, facing the Guards with an expectant yet scornful gaze, his face somber, lost in thought.

  ……

On that day, the Kalmyks brought an eleven-man raiding party through the snowstorm to Somovo village, which the Germans were about to abandon in a few days and was extremely chaotic. Several German tanks speeding westward were packed with soldiers, some of whom were tightly pursuing behind the tanks, while civilians carried water buckets and simple bedding, joining the retreating army.

The sound of the Soviet army's counterattack was getting closer and closer. Lida, who was acting as a guide, did not find her comrades here, and under everyone's suspicious eyes, she found two more places, finally entering the forest several kilometers south of the village with the old hundred names.

On the way, they met several villagers who told the Kalmyks with a frightened expression that a group of German soldiers had arrived in the nearby village, unlike the previous German army, fierce and menacing, and they sensed something was wrong and escaped.

Kalmek and Lida exchanged a glance and quickened their pace towards that village.

Here is a small village in the forest, with only a dozen or so households in the whole village. Adding those who accidentally strayed into the village to avoid the artillery fire, there are just over a hundred villagers, and the vast majority are elderly people, women and children.

Lida's expression tensed up, grabbing the Kalmuk's shoulder and pointing in one direction: on the empty land filled with old people, several SS guards appeared, with the red-faced leader being her commander not long ago.

These were one of the hundreds and thousands of "hunting teams" formed to carry out the orders of the Headquarters of the Supreme High Command of the Soviet Union No. 0428 (Arsonist Order), disguised as German troops, burning, killing, looting and raping fellow countrymen who refused to retreat and were willing to become occupied civilians, then putting the blame on the Germans, with the aim of provoking confrontation between the occupying German army and the local population.

These disguised "SS troops" drove a dozen or so elderly women and children to the front of the threshing floor, fired a shot into the air with their faces red, and loudly issued orders in German. Several soldiers came forward and threw gasoline bottles onto the roof, then fired at the bottles, and flames burst out. The villagers saw the situation and panicked, rushing into the houses, throwing out buckets and pots, which were their most precious belongings.

An old man wearing a green big hat asked, "Aren't the villagers here supposed to withdraw tomorrow? You burned down houses today, where will you live tonight? Besides, your superior told me personally that we should bring food and bedding when we leave, but you've burned everything. How are we going to survive in the rear?"

The red-faced man slowly walked up to the old man and asked in a stammering Russian accent: "What do you do?"

The old man accompanied by a smile said: "I am from Odoyev's post office, I just brought your order to the village, I have already posted it on the tree, there."

Following the direction of the old man's finger, Honglian went to take a look and found it was an order from the 478th German army unit. The gist of it was that tomorrow the villagers would withdraw to the rear, with German troops dispatched to escort them, and reminding the villagers to bring the notice certificates issued several days ago.

Hong Lian tore off a poster and asked the villagers: "Are you really willing to withdraw to the rear?"

  "Alright, alright."

"Don't you hate them?" Red Face asked with a sense of discontent, he really hoped everyone would say something against the Germans, even if it was nothing.

Everyone completely misunderstood Honglian's kind intentions and chattered:

"Look what you're saying, no matter who it is, we just treat them as our ordinary people."

"I've heard people say that maybe in the future they will distribute land to everyone."

The small church at the village head is now open.

  "School has started classes too."

Hong's face suddenly turned black, and he shot the old postman with a raised wrist. The old man fell to the ground with a loud thud. The villagers immediately became chaotic. Hong's subordinates wreaked havoc on the village, soldiers looted and stole chickens and dogs, and thick smoke billowed out of the village.

Among the villagers' cries and curses, Red Face climbed onto a low wall, shouting hoarsely: "Russian people, everything those green-uniformed men told you two days ago was lies. You are an inferior nation, and it is the task of the German army to exterminate you..."

The red-faced man did not expect his tricks to be exposed - immediately, a big aunt from a foreign village shouted loudly: "Villagers, I recognize these guys, they came to Odoyev village two days ago, just like today. A bad boy pretended to be German and raped Yelyuka's daughter, this damn thing got excited and started speaking Russian. You..." The words behind were never finished, the red-faced man raised his WALTHER P38 pistol and fired all the bullets in one breath.

Kalmek's face turned iron-green with rage, Rennya bit her lip, and Lida lowered her head. They tried their best to suppress the anger in their hearts, waiting for an opportunity.

Those fake SS troops drove the villagers together, and shots rang out from time to time. The raiders acted swiftly: Kalmyks took a few people using haystacks to sneak up behind the Reds, Tatars brought two men back to their opponents, Ranya and Gou Dan as well as Lida ambushed in the forest.

A flash of cold light, the dagger in the thief's hand flew out with a "swish" and hit the back of Hong Lian's neck. At the same time, Kalmuk swung his arm, and the assault team members suddenly jumped up, running, shooting, rolling, and jumping at the same time. Several of Hong Lian's subordinates fell down, and the Tartars on the opposite side also took action.

The SS men soon came to, some of them fearlessly fighting back, while others hid among the villagers. One SS soldier took cover in a chicken coop, where a hen clucked and flapped its wings as it flew out. Several hand grenades were thrown over, followed by a few loud explosions, and the chicken coop collapsed, burying the SS soldier inside, his mouth covered in chicken manure.

Kalmuk and Baldy faced off against a machine gun under the village entrance tree, when a hand grenade flew over their heads. Turning around, it was the impatient rapist. The hand grenade rolled back and forth next to the machine gun, annoying the SS soldiers hiding behind the tree so much that one of them rushed out and kicked it away. Baldy happened to jump up and fire at the same time, resulting in both of them perishing: Baldy shot the SS soldier into a colander, while the hand grenade blew Baldy's head open.

Another SS man behind the tree raised his machine gun, a Kalmyk held a grenade, pulled out the friction igniter and threw it away just as everyone suspected he had forgotten to throw it, which exploded in mid-air right above the tree.

Misha cursed and rushed into the crowd, pulling out a stormtrooper. The guy was tall and strong, grabbed Misha's arm and spun around, Misha was already pressed under him. Grubbs stepped forward and kicked him away with one foot. Misha turned over and rode on his face, then let out a mournful cry: the other had bitten his buttocks fiercely.

One SS guard was dragging an old lady into the woods, just as they reached the edge of the forest, Renya burst out and gave him a hard kick in the butt, followed by a stab to his lower back with her dagger. The hostage-taker released the old lady, dropped his gun, spat out blood, looked back at Renya, and fell softly to the ground. After the old lady regained her composure, she trembled as she tried to kick him but missed and fell down herself.

The battle is over, and the village has returned to calmness.

The assault team members gathered in front of Red Face, with blood staining his neck and face, becoming a true Red Face.

The dying man with a red face looked at the German soldiers squatting around him, his hands struggling to stretch into the air, as if swearing to the great man in the sky.

"For the Motherland... For the USSR..."

He used his last ounce of strength to bite into the collar - where potassium hydroxide was hidden.

The officer of the Soviet Internal Troops, an exemplary executor of Order No. 0428 of the Headquarters of the Supreme High Command of the USSR (the arsonist's order), the head of the 55th hunting group, died with a smile on his face.

"He died with a smile! He was a brave warrior, you should bury him." The Kalmyks sighed.

Rania hugged the bald head and wept, taking off her own hat to put it on the actually-bald head. He had long been dead, if heaven knew Rania's current state, he would be comforted. In fact, Baldy was very dear to Rania, due to injuries in the war that made him lose his manly demeanor, forcing Rania to leave him reluctantly.

Misha howled incessantly, Dog Egg pulled down his pants, a small piece of flesh dangling from the left buttock, as if it was about to fall off at any moment. Dog Egg applied some ointment and bandaged him up simply, Misha struggled to get up, but a sharp pain made him lean to the left, and he was caught by Gorbachev. Then he cursed and carried him on his back.

Misha said: "I know you won't leave me behind."

  "What's the reason?"

Misha: "Because you need my ass."

Glubbs gave him a white eye and threw it down and left.

Misha the flea generally jumps around, shouting in a rich and varied voice: "Don't leave me behind, wait for me. Dear, lieutenant, Grubbs, pighead, homo, ***, oh, I've finally caught up with you, thank you, dear, ah..."

As the sun sets in the west, a temporary hospital appears ahead. The hospital is overcrowded, with wounded soldiers lying on rough wooden beds outside the farmhouse. Some are missing arms or legs, others have dirty bandages wrapped around their heads, revealing only their eyes and nostrils. Some have cotton stuffed into their bellies, while others are on the verge of death, too weak to cry out. There are also those who are barely clinging to life, waiting for their final moment to report to God.

The Kalmyks found the director - who turned out to be a Russian, The director said that the hospital was preparing to retreat and asked them to walk another dozen kilometers. As soon as Ranya appeared and begged, the director readily agreed. Misha was carried onto an operating table covered in bloodstains, where he was sewn up with twenty stitches on his buttocks without anesthesia, and Misha fainted.

After the director finished the operation, he drank a few mouthfuls of liquor mixed with water, half-jokingly and half-seriously telling Rania that he was short of a typist. First, let him touch Rania's fingers to see if they were suitable for typing.

Rania's hand was sandwiched between two coarse hands.

  His subordinates burst out laughing:

"Have you seen a typewriter? Can it peel potatoes?"

"Right, as long as your hand is on the keyboard, potatoes will keep falling down."

"When you have a typist, unless pigs can fly."

The last sentence made everyone burst out laughing.

"Let go." Rania endured for a moment and said with a suppressed smile.

The dean closed his eyes abruptly and exaggeratedly rubbed his palms together.

"That's enough, stop it." She raised her voice, but the other party was as deaf as a dead pig and didn't budge.

Rania grasped his fingers and flipped them over, causing the principal to yell out in pain.

"Find me." She was relentless, her cold and elegant face stirring people's emotions.

Everyone burst out laughing, the principal felt that he couldn't lose face in front of everyone, and with his other hand, he swung a fist over. She dodged to one side, using her right palm to easily dissolve the punch, while her left hand increased its strength. The principal knelt on one knee, his head knocking against Rania's foot.

"Let go, little beauty, female officer, big sister, commander..."

The principal's pleading voice grew louder, and his address to Rania became increasingly respectful. Amidst a burst of laughter, the assault team left the blood-soaked, ravaged place.

  ……

"That's all." The Kalmyks gazed at the mud-like leaders, everyone was enchanted - including those invincible SS officers.
