Chapter 9 "Fisherman" Ding Yunyi
Ding Yunyi has been living as a "fisherman".
He had thought about his various futures, following San Ge's daily life of cutting heads and licking blood, eventually going to prison or being hacked to death by a chaotic knife... or turning over a new leaf, finding a job, and living out the rest of his life honestly.
But no matter how I think about it, I never thought I'd be living a life like this:
Wearing a plaque of "Imperial Inspector" and then acting as a "fisherman".
What's even more deadly is that fishing is far from being as easy as you imagine it to be.
Hong Diao-yuan fishing is easy, using the most primitive and simple natural fishing method, that is, rowing a sampan, on one side of the boat near the shore, install a "cloth bag" lifted by three bamboo sticks away from the water surface. At the bottom of the boat, there is a bamboo stick perpendicular to the direction of the boat's advance, which lies horizontally in the water, basically close to the bottom of the water, but will never be too close to the bottom of the water to affect the boat's progress.
The fisherman rowed his boat, leisurely along the riverbank against the current. The horizontal pole was in front, and the fishing net was on the side. As long as the horizontal pole swept across the bottom of the water, the startled fish would jump out of the water, some of which would fall back into the water, but there were always some that didn't land in the right place - and so they jumped into the "fishing net"! The fishing net had a bit of a depression in the middle, making it difficult for the fish to jump out once they were inside. As long as the fisherman continued to row forward along the shore, there would always be fish jumping into that fishing net.
It looks very simple, but it's actually quite difficult when you really do it.
Let Ding Yunyi, Xiao Yifeng and Bao Zonghua these three people go to the battlefield to fight to the death, bleeding and risking their lives. The three of them will never be ambiguous, but if you let the three of them fish according to this method, it would cost them their lives.
It's not that the direction of rowing is a problem, it's just that the "bu dou" follows the boat for a while and then comes loose. In short, three people rowed the boat for half a day, but didn't even catch a single fish scale.
Xiao Yifeng and Bao Zhuhua were full of grievances, they had originally thought that although Penghu was poor, following Ding Xun to temper themselves for a period of time would allow them to accumulate some capital, and when they returned, they would have the capital to achieve great things. Who would have thought that now they ended up becoming fishermen here?
And still those fishermen who can't catch fish.
The real Penghu fishermen on the side couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight of three people struggling and stumbling.
These Penghu fishermen were originally very xenophobic and didn't like to interact with outsiders. After Hong Tiao Yuan arrived on the island, it also took a long time for him to get along with them. Unexpectedly, Ding Yun Wei's three men went out to sea to catch fish, but their comical appearance made the Penghu fishermen's hostility disappear, and instead found these three men interesting. This is also an unexpected gain.
"You won't catch any fish like that." Suddenly, a voice with a hint of smile came from a fishing boat beside them.
The voice was sweet and beautiful, and Ding Yunyi's three people looked at it, suddenly feeling refreshed and all the unpleasantness thrown behind their minds.
She was a sixteen or seventeen year old girl, although her skin had darkened slightly due to living at sea for many years, but she looked beautiful and elegant, with a slender nose, bright red lips, and a slender figure. Standing in the sunlight on the small boat, she was a real beauty.
Ding Yunyi, Xiao Yifeng and Bao Zonghua all had the same thought in their minds at the same time: It turns out that life on the sea is also full of fun.
"Little girl, if you don't catch fish like this, then how should you catch them?" Ding Yunyi asked casually.
"Little girl? Are you very old?" The young girl pouted, but still pointed to their boat: "You tie the left mooring rope tighter and loosen the right one a bit, so it won't come loose easily."
Ding Yunyi and the other two were half-believing and half-doubting, but they followed the girl's instructions and did it once. As a result, the "cloth bag" indeed became "honest".
At that time, Ding Yunyi was overjoyed and rushed towards the small boat, saying: "Little girl, thank you, what's your name?"
"My name is Axi, what's yours?"
"My name is Ding Yunyi, I'm the new patrol inspector of Penghu."
"Inspector? What a big official?" Ah Xi blinked and asked.
Ding Yunyi was speechless for a moment, and just then Hong Tiao Yuan's fishing boat returned fully loaded. He heard the words and laughed: "Xiao Axi, this inspector is quite powerful, can manage...can manage all of Fujian!"
"What an official!" Ah Xi clicked his tongue repeatedly.
Ding Yunyi is so awkward, and he's in charge of such a big place like Fujian? He can't even manage a small island like Penghu. Hong Diaoyuan has blown his own trumpet too loudly.
A Xi didn't know what kind of official he was. He believed it to be true. At this time, he said: "Inspector, Hong Butong can't get the silver, can an official as big as you also not get the silver and have to go fishing yourself?"
"Ah, this..."
Ding Yunyi scratched his head, while Bao Zhuhua helped to exaggerate: "Our Inspector is the most upright and honest, and he's also the most willing to share joys and hardships with his subordinates. Since Commander Hong and the brothers have to rely on fishing to make a living, our Inspector must be doing the same."
"Then you are also a good official."
Good official? This "Inspector General" and the officials barely touched, when speaking in front of their superiors, they didn't even have half a point of weight. Shared joys and hardships? The majestic battalion commander couldn't even get his salary, how could Inspector General Ding Yunwei not catch fish and wait to starve to death?
Ka A Xi's innocent and lively appearance makes everyone like her.
Those fishermen didn't know what kind of official the inspector was, and listening to Hong Diao Yuan and Bao Zong Hua's boasting, everyone thought that this new Ding Yun Wei was a very important official. At this time, one of the fishermen said:
"Inspector, a few days ago, a group of red barbarians came, from what and what company..."
"Is it the Dutch East India Company?" Ding Yunyi added.
"That's right, it's this company." The fisherman nodded repeatedly: "They come once every three to five days, and each time they come, they want us to provide food and drink. If we're a bit slow, they'll beat and scold us. Hong Batou had an argument with them before, and almost got into a fight with them. Hong Batou said that since we have fewer people, we can't beat them, so let's wait until the imperial court sends a high-ranking official with troops to teach them a lesson properly. Are you here this time to teach those red barbarians a lesson?"
Lesson? Are the three of us going to teach the Dutch a lesson? Ding Yunyi said with a hard head: "The Dutch East India Company's fleet has been defeated by Zou Weiqian, and I don't think they dare to come and make trouble again?"
"What if it comes back again?" The fisherman asked relentlessly.
As he saw the surrounding fishermen casting their hopeful eyes on him, as if taking him as the backbone, Ding Yunyi suddenly burst out with great momentum: "Come again, and I'll beat them to death!"
The fishermen were first stunned, then burst into cheers:
"Inspector, you're wise and just, next time come and beat those sons of bitches!"
