Chapter 30: Duan San Er

  Chapter Thirty Section Three

After drinking in the Moon Pavilion, I returned to the inn, and Sun Xiyu had already arrived with the silver.

Both sides handed over clearly, and after chatting for a while, Sun Xiyu stood up to bid farewell. Ding Yunyi sent him to the door. However, Sun Xiyu suddenly stopped in his tracks: "Ding Gongzi, I know you are the Penghu Patrol Inspector, what should be done if pirates are encountered?"

Ding Yunyi was taken aback: "Take him down and prosecute according to law!"

Sun Xiuyu smiled slightly and pointed to the dining area downstairs: "There is a pirate there, why doesn't Master Ding capture him?"

Following his pointing direction, there was a thin man in his thirties eating there with an eerie expression, constantly looking around.

Although this man doesn't look like a good person, Ding Yunyi was puzzled in his heart: "Mr. Sun, how did you know that this man is a pirate?"

Sun Xiyu smiled again: "The Shanghai pirates in the big sea are so numerous, each with their own unique mark, and when they meet, they can know who the other is. If it's a friend, avoid accidental injury; if it's an enemy, draw swords and stand shoulder to shoulder!"

Ding Yunwei suddenly realized: "What is this?"

  "Look at his arm..."

Following the direction of Sun Xi Yu's pointing finger, a strange tattoo appeared on the arm exposed by the rolled-up sleeve of that person, which was something Ding Yun Yi had never seen before.

Son Hei Yu knew this all too well: "This tattoo is called Umo Rugar, the black demon. Anyone with this design on their arm belongs to a pirate gang... The Pirate King, Ghost Maru!"

As soon as he heard this name, Ding Yunyi's eyes narrowed: "Gui Wang Wan?"

"It's just that..." Sun Xiyu thought Ding Yunyi didn't recognize him, so he briefly introduced the origin of Gui Wang Wan: "Gui Wang Wan usually doesn't come to Fujian, but this time he sent someone for some reason."

"How did sir know he was sent by Guī Wáng Zuan? What if he slipped out of the pirate group?" Ding Yunyi was somewhat puzzled.

"Look at how his tea bowl is placed in front of him."

Ding Yunyi looked over and saw that the pirate's tea bowl in front of him was indeed different from the others. The lid had been removed and placed on the table, with a pair of chopsticks still resting on top.

"A wheel of proud sun rises to the sky, two rainbow colors shine brightly." Sun Xiyu said two sentences that didn't make sense: "This is a pirate's secret code, it means I'm doing business here, brothers please don't block my way."

Ding Yunyi finally understood that there were such intricacies between pirates. He couldn't help but look at Sun Xiyu with new eyes, he was just a merchant, yet he knew the pirate slang and rules so clearly.

Dangxiaoleng smiled coldly: "Wanting to know why he came here isn't simple? Please ask Mr. Sun to go back and sit for a while, Yundei will be right back."

Sun Xiyu turned back, Qin Yun and Xie Xuan were talking, seeing Sun Xiyu come and go, they both found it a bit strange. Sun Xiyu roughly explained why he did so.

The words had not been finished, the house door had already been opened, and Ding Yunyi unexpectedly brought that pirate in, and the pirate had no room for resistance in Ding Yunyi's hands.

Sun Xiyu's eyes widened in shock, this, this is too fast, right?

A dagger was pressed against the pirate's back, and Ding Yunyi let Qin Yun lock the door. Then he pressed down on the pirate's shoulder and made him sit down. Suddenly, there was a "crack" sound, followed by the pirate's pained cry as one of his arms was dislocated by Ding Yunyi.

Ding Yunyi's ruthless move was not surprising to Qin Yun, who had seen it before. However, Xie Xuan and Sun Xi Yu were shocked, their eyes wide with wonder, and they didn't dare say a word as they stared at Ding Yunyi.

"I say what you answer, otherwise I'll take off your other arm too." Ding Yunyi said coldly.

The pirate was sweating all over his head and nodded repeatedly.

  "What's your name?"

  "Section... Section Three..."

  "Whose subordinate are you?"

  "Oni-ōmaru-sama."

  "What brings you to Quanzhou?"

When Ding Yunyi asked this question, Duan Saner fell silent there.

Ding Yunyi smiled, lifted up Duan San'er's intact arm, and placed his hand flat on the table. Suddenly, with a swift knife, amidst agonizing screams, one of Duan San'er's fingers was severed.

"Grandpa, grandpa, what's going on inside? Should I come in and help?"

The third son's successive miserable cries finally startled the little servant here, and a voice sounded outside.

Sun Xiyu knocked on the door and handed a few coins to the shopkeeper: "A few friends are just having fun, it's none of your business."

"Alright, got it." The young servant who received the reward was overjoyed: "Sir, just call me if you need anything."

Sun Xiyu closed the door and looked at Ding Yunyi with a frightened expression, but only saw Ding Yunyi's face without any expression saying: "Do you want all your fingers to be gone?"

"Master, I'm telling you, I'm telling you!" Duan San's forehead was dripping with sweat as he gritted his teeth in pain and said: "The disciple of Guī Wáng Wán, Jōng Lù Jiàn Bǎo Tián, was killed by someone in Penghu. Guī Wáng Wán was furious and wanted to mobilize all his men to avenge him with bloodshed in Penghu. Later, Guī Wáng Wán's military advisor, Dong Shi Xian Sheng, advised him to investigate the situation in Penghu and Fujian before taking action. So, Guī Wáng Wán sent me to Quanzhou. Master, I'm just a scout, spare my life!"

Ding Yunyi let out a breath, did Gui Wangwan know that Chang Lügeng Bao Tian had died? How did he know? Thinking again, something was wrong. Penghu only had Hong Tiao Yuan and those few people, how could they withstand the large group of pirates?

  "Who is Mr Dongshi?"

"We don't know his background, but we do know that the master trusts him very much and consults with him on everything!"

Ding Yunyi nodded: "How many ships does Gui Wangwan have and how many people?"

"Twenty-six ships of all sizes, over 400 people!"

Ding Yunyi had inquired about all the information he wanted to know, and was just thinking of sending Duan San'er to the authorities when suddenly a thought occurred to him: "Duan San'er, do you want me to take your life or send you to the authorities?"

Duan San'er was shocked and pale, these two things are fatal, he quickly "thud" knelt down on the ground: "Master, master, spare my life, spare my life, Duan San'er was forced to become a pirate, master please spare Duan San'er's life!"

"If you want to save your life, just be honest with me and do what I tell you!" Ding Yunyi supported his dislocated shoulder, taking advantage of Duan Saner's inattention, he suddenly pulled and lifted, Duan Saner cried out in pain, and the dislocated arm was already back in place.

Duan San'er was both shocked and admiring, and without regard for his own severed finger still bleeding: "Spare Duan San'er's life, from now on Duan San'er's life belongs to you."

Ding Yunyi ignored him, his heart tied to Penghu, anxious and eager to fly back to Penghu immediately: "Mr. Sun, I'm leaving for Penghu with Qin Yun now, goodbye!"

"Wait!" Sun Xiyu suddenly stopped him: "Ding Xun, if you go back like this, it's just a waste of death!"
