Chapter 22: The Mountain of Wild Grass
The following is the main text of Chapter 22 of "The Legend of Yue Fei":
Yue Fei and his men were traveling through a mountainous region when they came across a group of bandits. The leader of the bandits, a burly man with a cruel face, was threatening a group of merchants.
"Quickly hand over your valuables!" the bandit leader shouted. "If you don't, I'll kill you all!"
The merchants were terrified and begged for mercy. Yue Fei and his men quickly came up with a plan to rescue them.
"We can't just stand by and watch," Yue Fei said to his men. "Let's go and help them."
Wang Gui, one of Yue Fei's men, stepped forward and shouted, "Bandits, look out!"
The bandit leader turned around and saw Wang Gui charging towards him with a staff. He sneered at Wang Gui and swung his iron mace at him.
Wang Gui dodged the attack and counterattacked, but the bandit leader was too strong and knocked him to the ground.
Yue Fei quickly came up with a plan and shouted, "I'm a wealthy merchant! My goods are in the back. Let these people go and I'll give you some of my wealth later."
The bandit leader believed Yue Fei and let the merchants go. But then he turned to Yue Fei and demanded that he hand over his valuables.
Yue Fei smiled and said, "I'm not afraid of you. My staff is my partner. If you can defeat him, I'll give you some of my wealth."
The bandit leader was taken aback by Yue Fei's words and asked, "What do you mean?"
Yue Fei replied, "If you can defeat my staff, I'll give you some of my wealth. But if you can't, then you won't get anything!"
The bandit leader was enraged and charged at Yue Fei with his mace. Yue Fei dodged the attack and counterattacked with his staff.
The battle between Yue Fei and the bandit leader had begun...
