Chapter 21 First Stop America
When it comes to food, Liu Ye was thoroughly disappointed with America. Authentic American cuisine, regardless of the occasion or price, basically has similar ingredients and flavors, which are mainly large beef slices, chicken breast, potatoes, corn, and chili sauce. Even in San Francisco, where there is an abundance of seafood, except for roasted fish, most of it is eaten raw. Unless you go to eat Italian food, French cuisine, or Chinese food, etc., a minority of ethnic cuisines, you can still taste the decent flavor. Fortunately, Liu Ye didn't have a strong interest in eating, and in both his past life and this one, he found eating to be somewhat annoying, so he didn't have any deeply bitter feelings, but rather just felt sympathetic towards American stomachs.
As for the beauty, Liu Ye didn't disappoint. Since San Francisco is a city on the west coast of the United States, it's mostly composed of gold rushers and adventurers, which in modern terms means it's basically made up of nouveau riche and riffraff. So, the entertainment taste here can't compare to that of the east coast of the United States, especially New York.
However, Liu Mou discovered several foreign women with perfect figures and above-average looks at the party. One of them, a red-haired woman wearing a tight-fitting top and a long skirt, even danced with Liu Mou, but his awkward personality and clumsy dance skills left them with nothing to talk about after introducing themselves.
To be honest, Liu Ye was quite resistant to redheads, always thinking they looked dyed. However, that ample chest and slender waist felt great to the touch. But due to personality issues, when encountering people he wasn't very familiar with, Liu Ye wasn't too willing to initiate conversation.
Seeing Liu Ye's awkward performance, David actively introduced Liu Ye to different ladies. Liu Ye was not very adapted to this occasion and no longer danced on the floor, but sat at a small table on the balcony, looking through the glass at the people in the house, feeling extremely unreal.
A cigarette was not yet finished, the balcony door opened, several slender women surrounded David and sat at the table.
"Liu, I just discovered that I have one advantage over you, and that's being popular with women. With so many beautiful girls around, aren't you interested?" David asked Liu Yifei in Chinese, looking very concerned.
"You know, our habit is to slowly talk about feelings first, and then it's natural to develop a relationship. Unlike you Westerners, who might just happen to meet someone and go to bed together if both parties are in the mood at the time." Liu Mei looked at David's awkward smile and knew that this guy wasn't concerned about her at all, but was actually making fun of her.
"Oh, no, you misunderstood. They are all famous socialites, don't you understand? Socialites don't talk about emotions, it's their profession, haven't you been to those...those... brothels in Taiwan and Guangzhou? Haha!" David suddenly enlightened, explaining to Liu Fu in Chinese while trying to hold back his laughter.
"That's even more impossible, I'm afraid of getting sick." Liu Mei still didn't give in.
"Stop messing with me, come on, let's have a few drinks. Since we met, I don't think we've ever really had a drink together." Liu Fei was afraid that David would say something else out of the blue, so he quickly changed the subject to drinking.
Two people sat on the balcony, and a woman went inside to bring out a bottle of wine and some snacks. As they chatted and drank, Liu Ye slowly got into the mood, occasionally using English to tell some off-color jokes to the socialite next to him, making everyone on the balcony burst out laughing.
Liu Ye was still not satisfied with the dullness of drinking, so he taught David and the women next to him to guess numbers with dice and wine cups. Everyone's interest was very high, starting with Liu Ye and David playing together, then several socialites joined in, and a group of people shouted and laughed on the balcony, launching a big battle of guessing dice.
You had a cup, I had a cup, and who knows how many cups later, Liu Fei's last memory was of a black-haired woman feeding him a cup of wine with her mouth. After that, he couldn't remember anything else. The next day when he opened his eyes, he found himself lying on a big soft bed, completely naked, with two other equally naked women sleeping beside him.
"My god, this is what happens when you get drunk and have casual sex... and it's a threesome? Liu Ye was a bit skeptical of his own abilities, his future self wasn't that powerful after all. Not only was he having a threesome, but it was the Western style too."
Anyway, it's done, Liu Ye felt more relaxed and open-minded, woke up the black-haired girl again, and did another morning exercise.
After finishing his bath and coming out of the room door, he found himself still in that villa. David was already downstairs in the living room reading the newspaper and drinking coffee.
After having breakfast with David, the two American girls who were in bed with him last night also got dressed. Liu Fei was no longer unfamiliar with them due to a deeper understanding and even suggested taking the two girls out for a stroll and buying them something. Mainly because Liu Fei didn't understand the tipping culture of this era in America, he was afraid that if he didn't give them any tips, it would be said that Chinese people were stingy.
Sitting in the carriage and enduring the feeling of nausea, they visited several shops at that time, but Liu Ye didn't buy anything. It wasn't because she didn't have money, but rather because the shops in this era weren't very large, and there was no high-end shopping mall experience to be had. Moreover, the prices were not low, and Liu Ye was not accustomed to spending high-end specialty store prices on the same item in a small shop, even though the shop owner, David, and the two American girls all guaranteed that these items were genuine A-grade goods.
After visiting several shops, Liu Ye was tired, David was annoyed, and the two American girls were angry, thinking that Liu Ye was a cheapskate who deliberately found excuses not to buy them gifts.
"Isn't there a big mall around here? You're still an aristocrat, right? These stores aren't good enough for your refined taste as a wealthy nobleman? Where do you usually go to buy clothes?" Liu Mei ignored the two American girls complaining to David about his stinginess and directly squeezed past him.
"Oh, Liu, you're too picky. These few stores are already the best in San Francisco, and their goods all come from New York. If you don't believe me, you can ask these two ladies." David was very dissatisfied with Liu Mei, this Taiwanese country bumpkin, looking down on American stores, and pulled over the two girls to help him prove it.
"I don't see your pocket watch and clothes being sold here, nor did I see this pen earlier. Did you buy them from England?" Liu Mei ignored the two girls nodding in agreement with David's point of view like chickens pecking at grain, and continued to press David for an answer.
"Oh, most of my stuff is from France, this watch and pen were bought in New York, it's a bit backward compared to New York." As they talked about these things, David's head involuntarily lifted slightly again, and the small nick on his chin from shaving was clearly visible.
"How is New York compared to here? How much better?" Liu Mo knew David's weakness, once his strong point was mentioned, he wouldn't be modest.
"Ah... how to put it, if this is Taipei Prefecture, then New York would be Shanghai, roughly that kind of gap." David racked his brains for half a day and finally came up with an analogy that Liu Mei could understand.
"So let's go to Shanghai... Oh no, I mean New York. Two ladies, would you like to come with us to New York?" Liu Wei realized after hearing David's metaphor that she had crossed the ocean and finally set foot on American soil, only to find herself in a rural area of Taipei!!
"Oh, great, you're a real gentleman." Liu Yegang had just finished speaking when the two American girls immediately replaced his previous title of "miser" with "gentleman". The black-haired girl even wrapped her arms around Liu Yegang's head and gave him a big kiss on the face.
The next day, David and Liu took two girls and several attendants on the train to Omaha, after a few days of travel, they changed trains in Omaha and went straight to New York.
