Chapter 19: Zhao Yun Slays the Tiger

Chapter 19: Zhao Yun Slays the Tiger

The fierce tiger, seeing that its first strike had not succeeded, turned around and came at Zhao Yun again. This time, however, Zhao Yun was prepared and quickly dodged to the side, hiding behind the tiger's back. But how could the king of the forest not have some real skills? The tiger suddenly swung its tail, which was as thick as an iron rod, in a horizontal motion towards Zhao Yun. Zhao Yun, unaware of the ferocity of this move, reached out to grab the tiger's tail. What he didn't know was that a tiger's buttocks were off-limits, but Zhao Fei, who was watching from the trees, knew it clearly. As the saying goes, "a tiger's buttocks cannot be touched," because they are a sensitive area, and tigers protect them very carefully, especially their tails, which are incredibly powerful. If struck, one would not die, but would lose half of his life.

"Brother Yun, danger!" Zhao Fei hastily shouted as he saw Zhao Yun about to stretch out his hand to grab the tiger's tail. Upon hearing Zhao Fei's shout, Zhao Yun's expression froze for a moment. In an instant, he withdrew his outstretched hand and instead clenched both fists to protect his chest.

In the blink of an eye, a loud crash was heard... The tiger's thick tail fiercely slashed onto Zhao Yun's arms. The enormous force sent Zhao Yun retreating three steps back before he barely managed to steady himself. Seeing that its first strike had landed successfully, the tiger's momentum surged greatly. "ROAR~~~~~" The tiger let out a long, thunderous roar, causing the mountains and forests to tremble, as all the beasts fled in terror, displaying the majesty of the king of beasts without a doubt.

Looking at the tiger roaring towards the sky, Zhao Yun felt a sharp pain in his arms and put away his slight disdain. Zhao Yun stared at the tiger motionless, while the tiger seemed to be waiting for an opportunity to strike, as if looking for a fatal blow. The two were locked in a slow stare. Meanwhile, Zhao Fei on the tree was getting anxious, seeing the sky getting darker. If it really got to midnight, the situation would become even more unfavorable for Zhao Yun. What if other beasts were attracted by the noise? That would be a disaster. Looking at the scene below, Zhao Fei also started to worry.

"ROAR~~~~~" The tiger charged at Zhao Yun with a loud roar. Perhaps the tiger had lost its patience, or perhaps it was hungry. The tiger launched another attack, opening its bloody mouth wide and pouncing on Zhao Yun again. But Zhao Yun was already very familiar with this move and easily dodged it. The tiger saw that its first strike didn't work, so it used its tail to slash at Zhao Yun again. This time, Zhao Yun didn't dare to be slow and quickly dodged out of the way.

Zhao Fei watched from the tree, his heart racing with excitement as he looked at the intense battle between the man and the tiger below. He looked around frantically, hoping to find something useful. When he raised his head, he saw a straight branch above him. It was just the right size; if he could break it off and throw it to Zhao Yun, even if it wasn't much use, at least it would be some kind of weapon.

Zhao Fei steeled himself and stood up shakily, holding onto the branch. He reached out to grab the branch next to him and used all his strength to try and break it off. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't snap it off. "Come on, big brother!" Zhao Fei muttered to himself as he strained with effort.

Just then, there was a loud cracking sound, and Zhao Fei's foot slipped, almost causing him to fall from the tree. Luckily, the branch in his hand supported his body. When Zhao Yun heard Zhao Fei's cry of alarm, his heart tightened, and he quickly looked up, momentarily distracted.

The tiger seized this opportunity and pounced on Zhao Yun again. Zhao Yun came back to himself, but it was too late. Although he managed to dodge the worst of the attack, the tiger still managed to bite down on his right arm, tearing off a chunk of flesh and blood. Fresh blood flowed from the wound, and the smell of blood only further stimulated the tiger's ferocity.

The tiger's attacks grew more and more vicious, while Zhao Yun could only barely keep up with defending himself.

Zhao Fei, standing on the tree, did not notice that Zhao Yun was injured. He happily hugged the broken branch and shouted towards Zhao Yun: "Brother Yun, hold on for a while, it'll be fine soon." Zhao Fei quickly broke off some twigs from the branch and occasionally used them to hit the tigers, hoping to attract their attention. However, his aim was not very good. At this time, even if he hit the tigers, the force would be difficult to attract their attention.

Finally, Zhao Fei broke off most of the branches from the tree and hastily threw them at Zhao Yun. "Brother Yun, catch!" Zhao Yun heard the sound, looked up, saw the branches thrown by Zhao Fei, leaped forward, caught the branches, and rolled on the ground. The tiger also took advantage of the situation to pounce over. Zhao Yun turned around and struck a blow, which happened to hit the tiger's head, but due to his injured right arm, he didn't have much strength. Therefore, it did not cause much harm to the tiger. The tiger, who had been beaten, retreated several steps in pain, staring straight at Zhao Yun without making any further moves.

Zhao Fei, who was hiding in the tree, couldn't help but feel secretly delighted when he saw Zhao Yun successfully hit the tiger. It's all thanks to the branch I gave to Brother Yun that he became a hero, if Brother Yun becomes a tiger-slaying hero, I should get half the credit! However, unbeknownst to him, Zhao Yun was injured because of him. "Brother Yun, come on and kill that big bug!" But when Zhao Yun heard this, he could only smile bitterly. Although the wound on his right arm wasn't very deep, it had been bleeding continuously due to constant movement. His entire sleeve was already soaked with fresh blood, if things continued like this, the two of them would probably really die here.

Just as Zhao Yun and Zhao Fei were each lost in thought, the tiger finally couldn't hold back anymore and launched another attack on Zhao Yun. Zhao Yun held a wooden stick and dodged left and right, not giving the tiger any chance to take advantage of him. Through such a long time of fighting with the tiger, Zhao Yun slowly discovered some of the tiger's attacking rules, which were nothing more than pouncing forward, cutting with its tail, or sweeping with its waist.

The tiger, having failed to attack several times, became somewhat annoyed and shook its massive head again before stopping once more. Zhao Yun also managed to catch his breath. Just then, a small tree branch happened to hit the tiger's nose, causing it to suddenly become enraged. It turned out that while Zhao Yun was fighting with the tiger, Zhao Fei had not been idle, occasionally finding branches on the tree to throw at the tiger.

The tiger, in a fit of rage, launched another attack on Zhao Yun. Seizing the opportunity, Zhao Yun swung his wooden staff with all his might, striking the tiger's cheek with a loud crack. The staff broke into two pieces, revealing the magnitude of his strength. The tiger let out a pained cry and fell to the ground. Zhao Yun did not spare it, swinging the broken half of the staff repeatedly at the tiger's head. After about a dozen blows, blood spurted from the tiger's mouth, eyes, nose, and ears. Eventually, the tiger stopped moving, and Zhao Yun sat down on the ground, exhausted.

But Zhao Fei, who was on the tree, didn't see it clearly and only knew that Zhao Yun had knocked the tiger to the ground, displaying his divine power. He didn't know that it was extremely dangerous, and with one careless move, he might end up in the tiger's jaws. In fact, he didn't even think about how simple-minded Zhao Fei was being, but rather how much he trusted Zhao Yun. He thought that since Zhao Yun had stretched out his hand, he wouldn't get hurt, so he went up. But he forgot about himself. With him there, how could Zhao Yun be at ease fighting the tiger? Looking down and seeing the motionless tiger and Zhao Yun, Zhao Fei didn't know whether to go down or not. He was afraid that the tiger wasn't completely dead yet. If it suddenly pounced on him, he would be finished, and Zhao Yun was still sitting there motionlessly, doing who-knows-what. "Cloud Brother, how are you? Why aren't you speaking?" Zhao Fei shouted at Zhao Yun. But Zhao Yun didn't respond and remained motionless. And Zhao Fei only thought that Zhao Yun was exhausted and didn't think much of it. After a while, Zhao Fei discovered that something was off and quickly jumped down from the tree, ignoring the pain, and hastily ran towards Zhao Yun. However, he found that Zhao Yun had already fainted, his sleeve completely soaked in fresh blood. And the blood continued to flow out from the wound.

"Brother Yun." Zhao Fei's hoarse and exhausted cries.
