Chapter 3 Entrance Examination
After seeing his body turn into attributes, Hu Siming couldn't help but feel a chill in his heart.
Not to mention being compared to the powerful heroes in the game, even the cannon fodder minions in the tower have a higher health limit than him. The pitiful ten or so points of attack are not worth mentioning, hitting the hero is like scratching an itch, it doesn't feel anything at all. The final combat evaluation, although hurtful, is indeed very objective.
Even the weakest cannon fodder in the Blade Tower is much stronger than he is now!
Is this the difference between ordinary people and heroes?
However, he was not troubled by despair for too long. Shifting his mindset, the huge gap in data represented a vast room for improvement. With this idea in mind, Hu Siming quickly transformed his despair into motivation. If one day he could become that strong, he would be invincible in the real world! Even superheroes from Hollywood blockbusters would fall with just one skill!
The beautiful future he envisioned made Hu Siming temporarily forget the strange phenomenon at the end of the physical examination. It wasn't until the golden light pillar representing the physical examination completely disappeared and slowly fell to the classroom floor that he calmed down. Because the talent test took up time, Hu Siming was the last one among the twenty people to finish. When he appeared, the classroom had already become noisy, with new students chatting about their discoveries in twos and threes.
"I'm a municipal sanda silver medalist in the real world, yet I'm not even as good as a cannon fodder..."
"Haha, brother is indeed a sports enthusiast, with 7 points in both strength and agility!"
"I didn't expect that my natural lifespan would be 94 years old, absolutely a longevity star! Who among you is longer than me?"
"I'm only 62 years old, it seems a bit short."
"62 years old is still too short? Be content with what you have! I don't know what's going on, but I can only live until 40. Damn it, I'm already 34 this year, doesn't that mean I'll really kick the bucket if I die once according to what was said above? This attribute-ized body is useless!"
"I'm 51 years old myself, and I don't seem to be much stronger than you... Speaking of which, is this lifespan really accurate? It can't be that the academy just made up some numbers to deceive us, right?"
"Heavens knows!"
A group of people, either excited or depressed, discussing their lifespan, reminded Hu Shiming. It wasn't until then that he remembered seeing his own lifespan in the attributes on the school emblem. If he hadn't misread it, was it only 57 years?
This lifespan is not considered long, but it doesn't seem to be the worst either. According to the saying that one death deducts ten years of life, at least three more times can be deducted. Moreover, although he has only been in contact with Hu Si Ming for a short time, he has already given the Knife Tower Academy a "miraculous" label in his heart. If it can predict human lifespan, doesn't that mean there are also ways to increase it?
Hu Si-ming thought this speculation was quite plausible.
Bang! Bang!
The assistant instructor stood on the podium with his arms crossed, calmly watching the commotion below. After everyone finished their physical examination, he paused for a few seconds and then clapped his hands loudly to signal everyone to quiet down.
His sudden and forceful move had intimidated the newcomers, and no one dared to disobey him. In just two or three seconds, the classroom quickly fell silent. Seeing this, the teaching assistant nodded and said, "No time to waste, since everyone has finished their physical examination, let's begin the entrance exam."
Entrance exam!
His words had just fallen when the white chalk characters on the blackboard changed, displaying the content of the entrance examination.
Entrance Examination
Mission: Complete a battle under the leadership of an assistant coach (regardless of win or lose).
Mission Reward: 200 Universal Points, "Novice Student" title.
Optional Task 1: Kill five neutral mobs or enemy soldiers (current progress 0/5), reward 100 universal points, no penalty for not completing.
"Listen up, everyone!"
Seeing the freshmen in the public classroom making a fuss again over the content of the entrance exam, the teaching assistant knocked on the table impatiently and said loudly: "Later, I will use my teaching assistant privileges to pull you into the battlefield. The battlefield is where we usually have compulsory courses because it is under the protection of the college's rules, so death will not deduct your lifespan. However, in order to prevent you from becoming numb, the principal has set up a small death penalty. So, after entering, don't run around randomly, follow me closely. Otherwise, after class, you'll have a hard time."
As soon as he finished speaking, the assistant's authority was activated, and the entire public classroom suddenly appeared with twenty dazzling silver lights.
………
Location: Large Class B Academic District, Battlefield No. 00691.
Mode: All Camps Random Shuffle.
Two hints jumped past his eyes and Hu Si Ming appeared on the battlefield of the entrance exam. Before he could even take in his surroundings, a stunning scene unfolded before him.
The dragon knight, identical to the one in the game, sprinted a few steps and transformed into a massive green dragon. Its cumbersome yet enormous body made the ground tremble with each step. It opened its mouth and spewed acidic dragon breath, corroding the sturdy defensive tower into a pockmarked mess. As a wave of nocturnal ghouls approached, the dragon knight's twin wings fluttered, unleashing a scorching cone of flames.
Then, the captain suddenly appeared from behind the Nightmare Tower and raised his hand to mark him.
Classic triple water cannon launch!
The dragon knight, seeing the situation was not good, attempted to retreat but was suddenly blasted into the air by a torrent of water that appeared out of nowhere on the ground. Immediately afterwards, the semi-transparent ghost ship COCO, rapidly approached from behind the captain and crashed into the dragon knight who had just landed, causing damage while also knocking him dizzy.
Seeing the situation was unfavorable, the Hell Lord protecting the Dragon Knight in the back immediately put on the Shield of No Light for him, instantly relieving his dazed state, and prepared to retreat.
However, the captain's teammate, the Earthshaker, also came down from the high slope of Nightmare Field on the side, and with a sharp angle, he slammed down the totem with great force. The massive power shook the ground, creating a magical trench that sealed off the Dragon Knight's retreat.
A fierce battle suddenly broke out!
A common scene in the game unfolded in reality, looking exceptionally shocking. Next to several heroes, the Heaven's Glory and Nightmares soldiers who were engaged in a fierce battle with white blades, although not as gorgeous, were even more intense and cruel. The new students brought by the teaching assistant were stunned one by one until the bloodied Dragon Knight was defeated and fled in disarray, at which point the new students cried out in surprise and prepared to scatter and escape.
It was also at this time that they realized they were actually invisible!
The enormous body of the Dragon Knight passed directly through them, and the jetting flames didn't cause any burns at all. Moreover, they were standing right in the middle of the battlefield's riverbed, but even the ankle-deep water didn't have a single ripple. Apparently, Instructor Unabelle had used her authority to protect them.
"This is Dota!"
The assistant coach, who had been silent since entering the battlefield, finally spoke up: "In the future, you will also take compulsory courses and choose a hero's temporary inheritance to defeat your opponents and earn universal points to strengthen yourself! Is there still anyone doubting the authenticity of Blade Tower Academy?"
All newborns shook their heads in unison, and the facts they saw with their own eyes were enough to explain everything. However, after the doubts in their hearts completely disappeared, a kind of excitement and expectation emerged.
"Can I really become a hero?"
There are new players who have played DotA before and deeply understand the power of late-game heroes, can't help but yearn for them: "For example, Phantom Assassin, Anti-Mage, Pudge?"
"Are these seniors re-takers of their freshman year? What's the difference between them and us freshmen?"
"What is the general point?"
"If I'm not mistaken, Blade Tower Academy is the real-life version of Blade Tower?" Some freshmen reacted quickly and asked, "Then, how do we choose our heroes?"
Innumerable questions surged towards the teaching assistant like a tidal wave. Fortunately, the freshmen still remembered the teaching assistant's previous ferocity and spoke in a relatively respectful tone, not daring to be too presumptuous.
"Stop arguing!"
The teaching assistant was driven dizzy by the questions of so many new students, and immediately let out a loud roar, saying in an ill-tempered tone: "Become heroes? Do you think hero inheritance is like a free cabbage that can be obtained at will? Please, open your school emblem and look at the top line of the attribute column - ordinary unit LV1! Do you know what an ordinary unit is? It's just a wild monster on the map! Wild monsters get it? Wait until you reach ordinary LV10 and enter the quasi-hero realm before talking!"
His words calmed down the freshmen.
It took five or six seconds before someone whispered: "Is becoming a hero really that difficult?"
