Volume 2: Crisis Acceptance 4 Chapter 4 "The Daughter of Tathagata Buddha"
Kawaki lay lazily on her bed after Mochizuki went to prepare food for herself, thinking back and forth about the things between him and her, and the more he thought, the more he felt that her downfall was not unrelated to himself.
Two years ago, one day, the switchboard transferred a woman's call, saying it was Kawachi's fiancée. This news was like his parents, who had long since hung up their military medals, suddenly receiving news that their only child would be coming home soon. Kawachi's blood boiled as he rushed to the transmission room and grabbed the phone impatiently.
"Hey... Sakura..." Kaito's voice was like a blade of grass in the gentle breeze, trembling and shaking with each heartbeat.
"Sakura? What sakura are you talking about? I am the daughter of 'Rulai Buddha'!" The woman on the other end of the phone said unhappily.
"'The Buddha's daughter'?" Kawahime was taken aback, her mind as if flooded with a foreign substance, and the boat of memories that had been supporting her for so long was now on the verge of collapse.
"Can't remember? Is Lieutenant Kawara a noble who forgets things, or is he thinking of something else?" The woman on the other end stirred with dissatisfaction, and Kawara's mind became even more confused.
"Who are you?" Kawahara's reaction was extremely slow.
"'You are', what are you?" The woman got angry and suddenly hung up the phone, the "zzt zzt zzt" of the electric current exploded, making Kawahara's eardrum ache.
The landline phone sat silently on the table, its black body as still and unresponsive as a dog staring at a bone in its master's hand.
For this mysterious phone call, Kawaraji sought help from the telephone exchange through connections, but was ultimately disappointed. He thanked the switchboard and, like a bereaved dog, muttered "Nyorai Butsu" (a Buddhist term for the Buddha's daughter) as he dejectedly returned to the General's residence. Coincidentally, Itami was urgently summoned back by the Tokyo High Command of the Japanese Army in China, and Kawaraji also had the opportunity to calm down and think about this mysterious woman.
One by one, the past events flipped through Kawaki's mind, finally flipping to the page that made his eyes shine, and the small boat of memory sailed towards Yokohama Port.
Apart from Sun Wukong, who was disobedient but loyal to Tang Monk, the river and horse also liked the Buddha. Unfortunately, the boss of Yokohama Port Shipping Company looked a bit like the Buddha in "Journey to the West". Although this boss had a big name, his name wouldn't be as memorable as his appearance, which would make people remember him for a long time.
Logically, a bald old man with a big belly, round face, drooping ears, kind eyebrows and eyes, and a smiling mouth should not evoke antipathy from Kawahara. Moreover, this old man never withholds wages from his workers, occasionally even showing kindness to support the weak, and donates hundreds of millions of yen to the Japanese Education Foundation every year, which should earn him respect. However, Kawahara just cannot get over the old man's interference in marriage freedom.
The only daughter of the Japanese version of "Tathagata Buddha", Meizi, is very beautiful, with a melon-shaped face, white skin, big eyes, small mouth, high nose bridge, and the only flaw is that there are a few attached objects on her earlobe. However, this tiny blemish is precisely what makes her stand out from the crowd.
Kawaki, relying on his intelligence and the skills he had honed from years of transporting goods, won over all the employees at the shipping company and became the leader of the transport team, gaining the opportunity to meet Michiko, the daughter of "Nyoro". As time passed, Michiko finally discovered Kawaki's good points and gradually came to like him.
"Hey, Kawachi or whatever, I heard you used to be a teacher?"
Chuan Qi said: "Uh-huh."
"Is it still Chinese teacher?"
Chuan Qi said: "Uh-huh."
"Great! Great!" exclaimed Yoshiko, clapping her hands.
"Miss, you're interested in Chinese?"
Mizuko answered irrelevantly: "I and my father have been to China, it's a good country. The men are handsome, the Forbidden City is majestic, and the Great Wall is well-maintained."
Meizi said: "Kawa what ride, have you been to China?"
Chuan Qi shook his head and sighed: "A stinky coolie, how can he have the ability?"
Meizhi said: "I've never been there, what kind of Chinese teacher am I? All talk and no action."
"I will go."
Mi Zhīzi said: "I also worshiped China's Bodhisattva, burned incense in front of my father and kowtowed."
This remark left Chuan Qi feeling bewildered, staring blankly at the other's spotless white teeth, wondering if this woman had gone crazy.
Mi Chiko saw Kawa riding a stupid horse and had to explain: "That chubby, smiling Chinese Buddha, called Rulai, looks like my father."
He finally understood what Meiko said and recalled the description in Journey to the West, thinking that the boss really looked like the Buddha.
"Next time I go to China, I'll definitely persuade Father to bring you along," said Yoshiko.
"Thank you, miss."
"Thank you for what? It was just a small effort."
The river knight repeated what he just said again.
Meizhi got angry and said with a raised corner of her mouth: "What else can you do besides saying 'thank you'?"
"Miss, what do you need me to do? Just give the order. I'll brave boiling water and walk through fire if necessary."
Mizuko's face had two red clouds, she bit her lip and then turned around and left quickly. Looking at that beautiful back, Kawahime's heart moved a little, this was the first time he felt something for a woman other than Sakura since leaving Mt. Fuji.
That night, Kawaki couldn't sleep. He counted the stars in the sky countless times, but through the small window, there were only a few twinkling stars winking at him. He got out of bed and walked slowly to the pier, basking in the sea breeze of the night, gazing in the direction of Mt. Fuji, and thinking of cherry blossoms with all his might.
"Sakura, I think I might have fallen in love with another woman. What should I do?" Kawa's voice was drowned out by the massive roar of the tsunami, and he couldn't even hear himself.
The following summer, Yoshiko pestered her father, Kawaji, and thus won the chance to accompany "Buddha" on a trip to China.
"Rulai Buddha" arrived in North China and went to visit his friends in the business world, leaving his daughter with Chuan Qi. He also found an opportunity to show off his talents to Mei Zhi Zi and told the story of "Journey to the West", a classic Chinese novel, in a fascinating way around her father.
"Does the Buddha have a daughter?" said Yoshiko.
Chuanqi said: "None. But there are many female disciples as beautiful as flowers and jade, such as Guanyin Bodhisattva."
"Am I like Guanyin?" said Yoshiko
Chen Qi said: "Not like. However, some are like female demons, such as the White Bone Demon killed by Sun Wukong."
Mizuko was unhappy, got up and chased Kawari, who was forced to the corner of the wall in a hurry to escape, touched her firm chest with his hand, and smelled the faint fragrance emanating from her body.
Later, the sound of the two chasing each other gradually disappeared, and the inn returned to calm.
