Chapter 6: The Turbulent Town of Wulong
In a small restaurant in Wulong Town, there were several light dishes on the table, no wine.
Tang Zheng and Tian Meng had changed into clean clothes and sat down at the table.
Tian Meng bought a piece of satin one foot long, carefully rewrapped the paper flower that was worth a lot of money, and then put it back in the brand new package before handing it back to Tang Zheng.
"A day and a night's scenery, just like a dream...” Tian Meng's eyes were still slightly red, after tidying up his own luggage, he poured a cup of tea for both Tang Zheng and himself, using tea instead of wine to toast.
Tang Zheng stuffed all the miscellaneous things he picked up, such as lighters and whatnot, into his bundle in one go. Without saying a word, he finished the tea in his cup and then ate two more bites of the small dishes.
Tian Meng put down his cup: "I didn't expect that, under the power of the 'Star Burst' which was bound to kill me, I could actually survive. If it wasn't for meeting you, I might have already died in Fengmen Village."
"If you hadn't blasted that venomous snake to death, I'd be dead too!" Tang Zhēng waved his chopsticks nonchalantly and said, "No use thinking about those things! Look ahead!"
"Hmm, looking forward...” Tian Meng's eyes flashed with a hint of despair, and he seriously raised his cup. "Brother! Last time we met by chance, I asked for your great name, but you didn't say it directly. I wonder if you can tell me now?"
"Oh?" Tang Zheng put down the chopsticks he had picked up for Xiaocai.
Tian Meng asked very seriously.
Although Tian Meng also asked politely in the haunted house of Fengmen Village last time, this time's seriousness is incomparable to the last time.
Tang Zheng raised his head and tapped the bowl twice with his chopsticks: "I..."
It's been many years, and it seems like this is the first time someone has ever asked his name so seriously.
"Tang Zheng!" Tang Zheng's voice was not loud, but it was clear as the morning bell at dawn: "Remember me, my name is Tang Zheng!"
"Tang Zheng... Tang Zheng..." Tian Meng muttered twice, "Good name... upright and honest, a true gentleman... good name."
"Is it? I think so too!" Tang Zheng laughed.
Although his true feeling was that those few words spat out by Tian Meng had nothing to do with him.
Two people chatted happily, using tea instead of wine, and toasted each other with a few cups.
After finishing a meal quickly, Tian Meng wiped his mouth and spoke again: "So, Brother Tang, what are your plans next? Will you continue to wander around the world?"
"Hmm..." Tang Zheng had just arrived in this unfamiliar world and hadn't thought of where to go yet, so he turned around and asked, "How about you?"
"After going through the events of this day and night, my thoughts have changed a lot. In Fengmen Village, I took a step forward that I had never dared to take before - to fight! How many people spend their entire lives without illuminating even one fate palace? I think that even if it's Xing Mai sealing, Wu Feng Jian's successor shouldn't live like me!"
"So?"
"Putting down my pen and taking up my sword has always been my dream!" Tian Meng's gaze drifted wistfully out the window, "If I hadn't accepted the invitation to teach at Tangjia Fort, after everything that happened in Fengmen Village, I would have definitely set off westward immediately!"
But Tian Meng was a man of his word.
Since I promised to go to Tang's house to teach, I definitely cannot be irresponsible and back out just because of a change in my own thoughts.
Moreover, Tian Meng didn't say that compared with teachers from other places, Wulong Town is even more special.
Wulong Town is located at the intersection of Wuling Mountain and Longding Mountain, two mountains that are the territories of Xingxing Sect and Qintian Sect respectively. As a result, Wulong Town belongs to a gray area between the two sects, which is very chaotic. Few scholars are willing to come here unless they have to take up an official post. If not, it would be really difficult to find a teacher in Tangjia Fortress for a short period of time.
Tang Zheng hesitated for a moment before suddenly asking: "By the way, does being a teacher come with free food and lodging?"
"Ah?" Tian Meng was once again startled by Tang Zheng's sudden jump.
"Or else I'll go to Tangjiabao for you?"
Tian Meng's eyes lit up in an instant.
But he instinctively felt it was inappropriate: "That... how can that be, you have your own things..."
Tang Zheng leaned back in his chair and spread out his hands: "To be honest, I'm currently lacking a suitable job!"
"No... it can't be?" Tian Meng almost didn't dare believe it, "Such a coincidence?"
"Exactly, what a coincidence." Tang Zheng pointed to himself again, smiling like a drunken golden lotus, "So, how do you think I look? Suitable?"
The two had hardly exchanged a few words when they saw the wooden door of the small inn kicked open with a loud crash.
Three people came in wearing uniforms with the word "blue" embroidered on them. The leader stepped on a chair at the entrance with one foot, raised a purple-golden round yin-yang plate in the air and moved it around, while the other two held smaller versions of the purple-golden plates and ran upstairs.
"Is that... a Star Chart?" Tian Meng furrowed his brow and tugged on Tang Zheng's sleeve, "Could it be looking for us?"
Tang Zheng gently put down his cup on the table and smiled as if he was talking about someone else: "Mm, it should be."
……
Tang Zheng and Tian Meng naturally did not know who Fēng Mén Village belonged to, nor did they know what relationship there was between Zhǐ Zuì Jīn Mí Huā Tián and Yǐn Lán Shān Zhuāng.
It's not hard to guess who they're looking for with this urgent attitude of searching for someone.
Tian Meng's whole body was shocked, and he felt cold sweat breaking out on his back. When he looked again, Tang Zheng was still drinking tea with a carefree expression.
Two people are now sitting in the corner position, and for a while they can't find them on their bodies. However, the leader is standing at the door, motionless, with the cyan double-winged star pattern floating behind him, maintaining it without concealment. The lower part of both wings has a bright starlight shining.
The leader of the team was unexpectedly a two-star warrior!
Not to mention Tian Meng has already exploded with stardust, even if he hadn't, his one-star strength combined with San Jiao Mao's PK skills would definitely be no match for a two-star warrior.
The blue-robed leader glanced at the star chart and surprisingly walked straight towards Tian Meng and Tang Zheng.
In an instant, Tian Meng's face had already turned white.
Who would have thought that the leader of the Blue family stopped at a table in front of Tang Zheng and others, stretched out his hand and patted: "You, and you, get up!"
Tian Meng's eyes widened in shock.
On the table was an old man with white hair and beard, and a boy of twelve or thirteen years old, who looked like grandfather and grandson.
Upon hearing Blue's leader's voice, the two people didn't even lift their heads and continued eating and drinking.
"Hey, is it really good for such a young kid to drink?" Tang Zheng sighed.
"......" Tian Meng was speechless, is that the point?
Not getting a response, the leader of the Blue family called out and the two Blue family servants on the second floor also brought down their small astronomical instruments to present a united front at the table.
The old man used his trembling hands to pick up a piece of fish and put it into the child's bowl.
The leader of the Blue family's anger was ignited by this casual action: "By order of the master of the Blue Mountain Manor, inspect all two-star and above martial artists in Wulong Town. You'd better cooperate."
Tian Meng gave Tang Zheng an odd look.
Two stars?
Is there some kind of misunderstanding in between?
Why is it that only martial artists of two stars and above are being investigated?
Before Tian Meng could think clearly, the leader of the Lan family grabbed the old man's collar: "Not speaking? Think you can escape my eyes by not speaking? Take them away! Both of them!"
Tian Meng's face suddenly turned red.
Under broad daylight, he dares to bully the weak and vulnerable, and his targets are even an elderly person and a child. He can't just stand by and watch!
"Let them go, what you're looking for..." Tian Meng slapped the table and stood up.
As a result, halfway through, Tang Zheng suddenly pulled him back into his chair.
"Ah......" Tian Meng looked at Tang Zheng with a puzzled gaze.
Although he is still not quite used to Tang Zheng's moral integrity, but as for Tang Zheng's character, he absolutely believes in him!
If Tang Zheng was that kind of person who wouldn't dare make a sound even when seeing injustice, he could have been left alone in Fengmen Village.
But what does Tang Zheng mean now? Is he telling him not to interfere with other people's business?
Tian Meng's brain was originally slow, and this time it was even more straightforward to crash.
"Alas, it's all over." Tang Zheng helplessly rubbed his forehead.
In fact, he saw clearly that from the beginning, the old and young did not take the Lan family leader in their eyes. However, Tian Meng's bookish arrogance had already brought over the hatred of the Lan family leader and two house slaves.
Tang Zheng pressed down Tian Meng, but he himself stood up, quickly pulled a blue-robed leader, and piled on a face of smiles: "Yo, three big brothers, come come come, listen to me say one sentence..."
As he spoke, he mysteriously pulled the three people over to another empty table.
"Hmm..." Tian Meng's gaze fell on the package that Tang Zheng had placed beside him.
Just now, for a moment, he seemed to see Tang Zheng's two fingers reach into the bundle and take out something.
Ketang Zheng's speed was too fast, he really didn't see clearly.
Everyone in the tavern focused their attention on that corner along with Tang Zheng...
"There's something I'm going to say quietly, if you let a fourth person know, that's death," Tang Zheng lowered his voice and patted the three people with his hand, "We... are treasure hunters!"
"What? Th...thieves of a tomb?" One of the family servants stared with wide eyes.
"Shh!" The leader immediately interrupted him and turned to Tang Zheng, "Hey, doing this line of work, you've got quite a harvest, haven't you?"
"This is great, I've just found some good stuff, don't spread it around, don't spread it around..."
"I know, I know..." The leader also lowered his voice, "Heh heh, that..."
"Since I've got a good relationship with the three of you today, of course, I won't let you leave empty-handed," Tang Zheng said with a hearty pat on his own chest. "It's really like fate, I just happened to have dug up a set of blood jade cups today, and there are exactly three of them... it's as if they were prepared for you guys all along..."
The whole tavern stared at Tang Zheng in shock, as if he was telling the truth. He casually picked up an empty tea cup from a nearby table and handed it to the leader and two housekeepers.
The young waiter in the tavern rubbed his eyes hard.
He didn't even bat an eye!
Tang Zheng picked up three empty tea cups.
Even among them, there is one with a small crack on its horn!
"That's...the Blood Jade Cup?" Tian Meng had even forgotten to breathe, and no matter how slow his brain was, he could confirm that those were absolutely just three ordinary tea cups.
Everyone subconsciously held their breath.
Before long, they saw the leader Zhang, delightedly holding up the broken cornered teacup in his hand, trembling over his head, looking at it while deeply inhaling and saying: "Beautiful...the Blood Jade Cup is indeed famous for a reason, too beautiful..."
Tian Meng's mouth also opened wide - how is this possible?
"Look, the moonlight coming in at this angle is just like it's shining through Little Swallow's silk skirt." One of the Blue House servants also raised his head with a look of intoxication.
"If it's paired with a cup of old wine, the taste... hmm... " Another servant from the Lan family also had a similar reaction.
At least half of the people in the tavern subconsciously glanced out the window.
Moonlight?
Where does the moonlight come from?
It's now past noon, and it's just the best time for sunshine!
