Chapter 4 Section 16 Cooperation
When Peng Haoming and Zhu Meier walked into the hall, Wang Licheng and others who had been waiting anxiously came forward to greet them. Just as they were about to speak, Peng Haoming waved his hand, indicating that there was no need to ask questions.
Zhu Meier was as cold as frost, glanced at Wang Licheng and others a few times, turned her head to order a servant: "Make arrangements."
"Yes, master." The servant replied with his head bowed and hands lowered.
The mercenaries in the living room saw that Zhu Mei'er had not given the order to take action, and they put away their guns and lifted the alert. Wang Licheng's heart, which had been hanging in his throat, finally fell back into his stomach. Weng Cai and Cong Zai wiped the cold sweat from their foreheads, secretly rejoicing in their hearts.
"Sir, please follow me." The servant said respectfully to Peng Haoming. Peng Haoming and the others followed the servant, turning several corners in the villa complex, until they arrived at a separate villa. The servant said respectfully: "Sir, you can stay here first. If there are any instructions, you can tell me."
"Alright, thank you." Peng Haoming replied politely, and the servant retreated.
This villa was located at a corner of the villa group, with one side being a cliff. If you wanted to leave, there was only one way to go. Peng Haoming looked around and found that there were watchtowers on all the high points around, monitoring everything. It seemed that Zhu Meier still didn't completely trust him.
Wang Licheng and others were still rejoicing at having narrowly escaped with their lives, so they didn't notice such details. Weng Cai saw the servant leave and said to Peng Haoming in a tone that suggested he had just survived a great calamity: "Boss, when you went in with Hei Guafu earlier, I thought for sure you were done for."
"What's wrong with me?" Peng Haoming thought he was being overly cautious.
"Ming Ge, how's the business talk with Zhu Jie going?" Although he is now free from worries about his life, Wang Licheng is more concerned about what will happen in the future.
"Just wait and see, I don't know either." Peng Haoming spread his hands out, some things were better left unknown to him.
A few people were chatting when Beret brought two mercenaries to the villa, pointing at Wang Licheng and saying: "Come with me!"
Looking at the fierce-looking beret that resembled a bear, Wang Licheng couldn't help but shudder again and stood there, unable to move his feet.
Zhu Meier was indeed unpredictable, and Peng Haoming didn't understand what was going to happen either. He spoke with the beret in English: "I've already talked it over with your boss."
Beret shrugged: "Is that so? You can go find her and talk to her again." Before Peng Haoming could respond, the two mercenaries stepped forward, one on each side, and dragged Wang Licheng out.
Cōng zǐ hǎo bù róng yì yàn xià qù de xīn yòu bèi tí le qǐ lái, Péng Hàomíng shàng qián yī bù xiǎng zǔ zhāi, Bèi Lěi mào qiǎng zài tā miàn qián dǎng zhù le: “Move back!”
Peng Haoming had no choice but to retreat, watching as Wang Licheng was taken away. Wang Licheng's legs went soft and he turned back to Peng Haoming, crying out: "Brother Ming, you have to save me!"
Peng Haoming is now struggling to save himself, how can he rescue him? Zhu Meier's actions are indeed unpredictable, smiling one second and cold as ice the next. Weng Cai was also stunned, watching Wang Licheng being taken away, and after a long time asked: "Boss, what should we do?"
"Don't worry, nothing will happen to him."
Weng guessed that he was going out, and as soon as he reached the door, he was chased back by two mercenaries. He took a peek and found that the guard towers around him were empty just now, but now they were all manned, and even if he had wings, it would be hard to fly away!
"Boss, I don't care if he has a problem or not, what I'm worried about is whether we will have a problem." Weng thought this sentence was very realistic.
Cong Zai saw the mercenaries with live ammunition standing guard outside the window, and he fell back into his chair, muttering to himself: "It's all over! It's all over!"
Peng Haoming sat down, poured himself a glass of water, and took a few sips. He had hardly drunk any water for several hours, which made him feel slightly dehydrated in this hot weather. He needed the water to calm himself down and think about what Zhu Meier was really up to.
Wang Licheng was dragged back into the villa's hall by the mercenaries, and on the way, Wang Licheng felt a warm sensation in his crotch.
Zhu Meier sat on the sofa, with a golden python coiled beside her. The python's head was resting on her arm, and Zhu Meier gently stroked its head with her left hand as she coldly gazed at Wang Licheng. She noticed the wet spot on his pants and sneered, giving a slight smile. She then instructed the servant next to her: "Give this coward a change of clothes and bring him back up."
The mercenaries dragged Wang Licheng away, but there were no suitable clothes for him to wear in this place. The servant had to grit his teeth and reluctantly handed over a set of servant's attire for him to put on. Wang Licheng looked somewhat comical wearing the servant's outfit. After being tossed around, Wang Licheng's numb legs seemed to have regained their ability to walk, and he was brought back in front of Zhu Meier once again.
"Sit down, Brother Cheng." Zhu Mei'er's red lips parted slightly, but her eyes didn't even glance at him.
Wang Licheng couldn't decide whether to let Zhu Meier sit or just be polite, so he stood still and didn't dare move.
"Don't be nervous, Cheng Ge, after all, you're a big shot, huh... or at least you used to be. How can you be so scared in front of me, a woman?" Zhu Mei'er seemed to be enjoying the thrill of having her prey cornered.
"Zhu jie...my elder brother...he...didn't he already agree with you..." Wang Licheng's voice was trembling.
"Cheng Ge, I, Zhu Mei'er, am not a rookie on this path. You're just a washed-up fugitive who managed to escape to Gangong with my help. In just over ten days, you've already acknowledged an old master? Cheng Ge, your abilities are quite impressive."
Wang Licheng's crotch had a warm feeling again, and his supposedly foolproof plan was actually seen through by Zhu Meier from the very beginning.
"Relax, Wang Licheng. If I wanted to kill you, you wouldn't be alive now. I'm looking for you alone because I have something for you to do. After all, if I killed you, I wouldn't get my money either..." Zhu Meier looked at Wang Licheng, whose face had turned pale with fear, and felt a sense of playful pleasure in her heart.
"Zhu sister, as long as you say the word, I, Wang Licheng, will definitely do it... definitely do it..." As long as Zhu Meier doesn't kill him, he has no problem betraying his own father: "I met Peng Haoming at the casino, this Xinyi brother can be a witness..."
"I'm not interested in this." Zhu Meier raised the Golden Python's head, her eyes staring into its eyes, and the Golden Python spat out a letter and stared back at her.
"Whatever Zhu Jie wants to know, I'll definitely say."
"What's going on with those cops over there? They've been acting like they're crazy, searching everywhere." Zhu Meier asked casually.
"This... I really don't know, that day we received the goods, the next house went to the nightclub to pick up the goods, I don't know how, but the police came to the door, and there were special police." Wang Licheng solemnly guaranteed: "Zhu sister, I absolutely did not leak any information."
Since the goods were found only when they arrived at Guining, their own secret passage was still safe for the time being, but Zhu Meier didn't dare to guarantee it now.
"How did Zhang find your warehouse?" Zhu Meier asked lightly again.
"Actually, Tiaozi couldn't find my warehouse, I was careless that day and called the middleman, wanting to come and explain to you, Sister Zhu..."
"Intermediary?" Zhu Meier seemed to have thought of something, knowing that the number of people who knew the secret passage was not many, and the intermediary was one of them.
Whoever leaked the secret, just try it and you'll know. Zhu Meier said: "I have a batch of goods to be transported over there, I think this batch of goods will be handed over to you, and when we arrive at the other side, there will naturally be buyers to receive the goods."
"Everything will be done according to your instructions, Sister Zhu!" Wang Licheng nodded repeatedly like a chicken pecking at rice.
"Right, this is between you and me, don't tell Peng Haoming."
"Got it! I understand!"
"Also, Wang Licheng, don't randomly acknowledge a master from now on." Zhu Meier handed the snake to the servant and stood up, saying coldly.
"From now on, Zhu Jie is my boss!" Wang Licheng didn't care whether he understood what Zhu Meier said or not. At this time, the best way to save his life was to show loyalty.
"Get out!" Zhu Meier gave the order to expel the guest, Wang Licheng broke into a cold sweat, his feet which had gone soft immediately returned to normal, and he quickly left this place fraught with danger.
Zhu Meier called Bellerin in and whispered a few words to him. Bellerin went out and soon brought the middleman in.
"Get ready, you and Wang Licheng will be in charge of delivering the next batch." Zhu Meier's tone was not to be questioned.
"Eldest Sister Mei? What's this?" The middleman was momentarily stunned.
"What about that person called Liu Zi?" Zhu Meier didn't answer his question.
"The calf suffered a minor skin injury, nothing serious. Now, should we let him confront Wang Licheng?" the mediator asked.
"No need, let them meet when we set off."
"Mei Jie, why don't you reconsider Wang Licheng's matter? After all..." The middleman hesitated and said to Zhu Mei'er as he saw there were still people around.
"You're clever, but many clever people use their brains in the wrong way and bring trouble to themselves." Zhu Meier sneered and walked into the inner room without paying attention to the middleman.
The middleman pondered for half a day without figuring out what Zhu Meier's last sentence meant.
For Zhu Mei'er, trust is the thing that can't be given to others, it's too rare! The middleman was Zhang Zhiqiang's trusted assistant when he was still alive, and later followed him to M country after Zhu Mei'er escaped. For over a decade, he has been working tirelessly, but even so, Zhu Mei'er didn't dare to give him an ounce of trust!
Trust is to entrust one's life to others, Zhang Zhiqiang was betrayed by another capable assistant because of trust, this lesson left a deep shadow on Zhu Meier. Zhu Meier walked into the bathroom, taking off her clothes one by one, looking at the face and figure in the mirror that could make any man infatuated, past events flashed through her mind frame by frame.
