Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Resisting US Aggression and Aiding Korea

Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Resisting US Aggression and Aiding Korea with Several Casual Remarks

"Hot Blood 1950" is a work commemorating the 60th anniversary of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, recently published by the People's Literature Publishing House.

I got the sample book and took a quick look. Due to various reasons, there are slight differences between the physical book and the original manuscript. For example, at the end of "Chapter 2: Crossing the Ice River", the original text reads: "Chen Zizhong, wearing pants covered in ice blocks, with his fly open, hobbled along at the front of the group, his two testicles clinking in the cold wind." The changes to the physical book are quite significant, most notably that the "testicles" have disappeared.

For example, in "Chapter 6: The Wife Wearing Red", there is a scene where a soldier with broken arms needs to urinate and asks the nurse for help. In his haste, he says: "What? Is that it? I want to pee, undo my pants, and hold my dick!" The creative idea behind "Hot Blood 1950" is to restore the cruelty of war and the true nature of humanity. After the Korean War, our soldiers were called "the most lovable people", but at that time, the cultural level of soldiers was generally not high, just like the characters in the novel who are rough and unrefined. The more realistic the situation, the more intense the language, which is why this sentence appeared. Now, the whole sentence has been deleted, first losing the testicles, then losing this... I think the heroic spirit of the Chinese soldiers has been reduced a lot.

In addition, "Chapter 3: All Are Stubborn" has the following sentence: "Chen Zizhong found Xu Kai lying in a pool of blood on the left wing position. A high-explosive shell exploded above his head, and six or seven hundred serrated shrapnel flew out in all directions, cutting off half of his cheek. The intense shockwave also lifted him up and slammed him to the ground." In the physical book, "high-explosive shell" was changed to "high cannonball", is there a difference between the two? Is there no difference?

The difference between e-books and physical books is a matter of personal preference.

Finally, thank you friends for your guidance and advice.

  Content Brief:

People in war years can drink a lot: Chen Zizhong was born with a big belly, and a bowl of wine could subdue the fierce bandits gathering in the mountains and forests.

People in the war years had big temper: stubbornness is the soul of the sharp knife detachment, the volunteer army guerrilla team. They slept on ice and snow, ate fried noodles, wore single clothes, they stood like the Yangtze River, fell down like the Great Wall...

People in the war years are open-minded, wars make people mature in despair, and farmers who wake up with the rise of great powers, they are champions when farming, and vanguards when fighting...

  Media comments

Omar Nelson Bradley, the former Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, once said that the Korean War was "the wrong war, at the wrong place, at the wrong time, and with the wrong enemy". Without a doubt, "My Way" is the best revelation of the inside story of this "wrong war, at the wrong place, at the wrong time, and with the wrong enemy".
