Chapter 20: Subduing the Robbers

  Chapter 20: Subduing the Robbers

Ten minutes later, Laim drove the Hummer to Daimi's house. The surroundings were quiet, the door was wide open, and the iron gate was half lying on the ground and half hanging on the wall. Daimi's wolf dog was dead in the yard, shot by a gun, with shell casings scattered all over the place. "Daimi!" Laim jumped out of the car and ran while shouting. At the door, Old Daimi held a double-barreled shotgun and came out with his wife Ahong supporting him. Old Daimi was injured, with blood stains on his left shoulder. Old Daimi said: "A group of bandits came to rob us, firing guns randomly, I couldn't resist. The bandits took away all the valuables, took Meier and Nezha away, and asked me to send money..."

  "How long did you walk?"

"Just a moment ago, heading south..."

  "How did the bandits come?"

"A van with over 10 people..."

Before Old Dai finished speaking, Lem turned around and left, got back in the car, stepped on the gas, and the Hummer sped out with a loud "hum", heading south at 120 miles per hour. The road to the south only had one way, leading to the outskirts of Baghdad. The Hummer drove along the bumpy asphalt road, overtaking other cars like a runaway horse, scaring pedestrians on the side of the road into stumbling and dodging. In less than half an hour, they saw a pickup truck in front with over ten Iraqis armed with guns in the back, some wearing long robes, others wearing old military uniforms, laughing and having fun, with Dai Mei'er and her brother Nezha sandwiched in between.

The Hummer rushed to the front of the large truck, about ten meters away, and let out a sharp screech as it braked suddenly, turning sideways to block the truck's path. Rhyme jumped out of the car and stood coldly to one side. The large truck had no choice but to stop in front of the Hummer. The bandits were stunned - they recognized that this Hummer was a US military vehicle, but the guy standing in front of them, dressed in casual clothes, looked like he was on some kind of medication and didn't seem to have any special abilities at all.

"Looks like someone's looking for trouble!" More than a dozen thugs jumped out of the car, surrounding Lem in the middle. A thug with a full beard, who appeared to be the leader, held up a handgun and pointed at Lem, saying: "Brother, are you itching for a fight? Are you looking for a beating?"

"Let go of the person you're holding!" Lyme said gloomily.

"What about you? A fool? Ha..." The leader of the bandits' laughter got stuck in his throat. Laim flashed, his right hand transformed into a knife, lightly making a "ka-chak" sound, and broke the leader's wrist bone, snatched his gun, lifted his leg, kicked him flying one zhang away, and also knocked down another bandit.

"Hit him fast, hit him dead!" The bandits shouted in confusion.

Bang, bang, bang! Several gunshots rang out, followed by "Ah, ah――" wolf-like cries of pain. However, several bandits had thrown away their guns, and no one saw how Laim made his move. The bullets accurately hit the wrists of several bandits who were holding guns, causing them to drop their weapons. The bandits panicked and retreated in all directions, revealing a two-meter-tall giant bandit. He held an axe and let out a strange cry, "Hiss!" as he swung it down at Laim with both hands. Laim spun around like a whirlwind, kicking one leg up high. Before the bandit's axe could even fall, his thick face had taken a kick, instantly becoming a bloody mess with nosebleed splattering everywhere. However, the bandit was extremely stubborn and shook his head, still charging at Laim with his axe raised. At this moment, another bandit on top of the truck was also aiming his gun at Laim.

All bandit's actions are in vain.

  Laim acted too quickly.

Before the bullets of the bandits on the truck were fired, Laim's gun fired first. With a loud gunshot, a rifle fell from the truck, and the bandit held his bloody right hand with his left hand, wondering how he was shot. At the same time as the shooting, Laim dodged the big-headed bandit's slash to the side and countered with a palm strike on the back of his neck. The big-headed bandit went dark in front of his eyes and fell to the ground along with his knife. Next, Laim entered the fray like a tiger entering a flock of sheep, knocking down several bandits with a few punches and kicks, then leaped into the air above the bandits like a whirlwind. His legs were like strong springs, stepping on the heads of the bandits in a circle, and the bandits near his legs felt that it was not feet but a dull knife chopping down.

It was a lightning-fast process, in just two or three minutes, more than ten bandits fell to the ground.

There were three more bandits on the big truck, two of whom dragged Dai Mei'er and Nezha, holding a dagger to their necks, shouting at Laim in terror: "Don't come over!"

Lyme didn't approach the truck, but his face was gloomy, and his two eyes were like sharp swords stabbing at the bandits on the truck. He said calmly, "Let them go." Behind him, a bandit who had fallen to the ground quietly picked up a gun to launch a sneak attack. Lymes, as if he had eyes in the back of his head, casually fired a shot and made a hole in that bandit's forehead. Still looking at the bandits on the truck, he said, "Let them go!"

This sound was like a thunderclap, the volume suddenly increased by eight degrees, scaring the bandits in the car to tremble, and the dagger in their hands fell involuntarily.

"Come down." Lyme smiled and beckoned to Damiel.

Dai Mei'er was overjoyed and pulled Nezha up. The siblings climbed down from the large truck container and stood beside Laimu.

"It's okay." Lime patted Nezha on the head.

"Now that you're here, everything's all right," said Della.

While Laim was talking to Damei, a bandit tried to sneak away quietly, but unexpectedly, Laim turned around and fired a shot. With a loud bang, the bullet hit the cement road in front of the bandit and ricocheted onto his thigh. He let out a cry of pain and was so frightened that he didn't dare move again.

"You two get in my car first," said Raim, pointing at the Hummer.

Dai Mei'er pulled her little brother up onto the Hummer.

Laim walked up to the leader of the bandits and kicked his butt with his foot: "Get up and talk."

"Yes, yes." The head of the household got up.

  "What's your name?"

  Kashi wood.

  "What about the Republican Guard?"

"Is," Gaxi Mu looked at Laim in surprise, "Hero you... how did you know us?"

"The troops dispersed and then rushed out to loot?"

"Yes, but we have no choice, nothing to eat, nowhere to go."

"Want to come with me?" Lyme pulled out a wad of US dollars from his suit pocket.

"I'm willing, I'm willing." Gaxi nodded repeatedly, but didn't dare stretch out his hand to take the stack of US dollars.

Laim threw US dollars at Gasiwu: "If you're willing, go back and return the stolen things to their owners."
