Insufficient balance
Due to the head injury, plus the effect of An Ding, Bao Yulin slept for a day and night. When he came to his senses, the events on the prisoner's car that day were still vivid in his mind. He didn't know how long he had been unconscious. Looking at the sky, it should already be afternoon. Carefully looking around, he found himself lying in a large shed. The entire shed was very simple, and he was lying right in the center of a large kang. Seeing the neatly stacked bedding, Bao Yulin realized that there were many people living here. It seemed that he was now in a prisoner-of-war camp.
Enduring the headache, Bao Yulin observed that in the entire greenhouse, only his current sleeping position had a window, and it was located at the center of the greenhouse. It seemed that his comrades had arranged for him to be here on purpose to take care of him. Suddenly, a warm feeling surged in Bao Yulin's heart. His comrades were still taking care of him because he was injured, and they had arranged for him to be in the best position in the greenhouse. At least it could block some wind. However, he should have some style, once his injury healed and he was more mobile, he would leave this spot for another comrade who needed it.
Due to the headache, Bao Yulin could only gently turn his head. When he turned his head to the left, a bowl of noodles was placed not far away from him. With the gentle breeze blowing by, waves of noodle fragrance wafted over, and with great effort, he lifted his head to take a look. Sure enough, it was a bowl of noodles, topped with a poached egg.
Since arriving in Vietnam, Bao Yulin has not had a proper meal. Before being injured, due to the insertion mission, there was no time to eat, fortunately, there were many combat rations. Unfortunately, that thing was okay when eaten at first, but it became unbearable after eating too much. After being injured, it was much simpler, as he was wounded in the abdomen and could only rely on **maintenance** in the hospital. When he could finally eat some liquid food, he became a prisoner of the Vietnamese people. During the subsequent interrogation, they were given food to eat, but it was also difficult to swallow. The bowl of egg noodles in front of him really made Bao Yulin's eyes greedy, unfortunately, he couldn't move at all and could only stare at it to satisfy his craving. However, from the bottom of his heart, Bao Yulin thanked his comrades, knowing that it would be extremely difficult to get these things in a prisoner-of-war camp without even thinking about it.
At that moment, Bao Yu Lin was lost in thought when a faint sound came in, the sound gradually grew louder, and someone shouted: "One, two, one, one, two, one." Before long, the procession seemed to have moved to an unwilling place outside the house.
"Attention!" The commander gave the order: "Everyone hurry up and put away your tools, listen for the whistle to eat. Each team leader will take charge, return the tools to the tool room." The commander's orders were clear, as soon as you heard it, you knew it was a Chinese person giving orders. It's similar to being in a domestic unit.
At this moment, Bao Yulin was anxiously waiting, he really hoped to see his comrades as soon as possible.
While waiting, I always feel that time is passing very slowly, but it's actually not long. After a while, the sound of someone speaking came from the entrance of the big shed: "Deputy Commander Zhang, do you think that traitor has woken up? If not, we can think of some way to get rid of him."
"What nonsense! Didn't we discuss this yesterday? Why do the Vietnamese insist on putting him in a POW camp? The reason is simple: if he survives, he'll become a thorn in our side, and when the time comes, he'll devotedly serve his Vietnamese masters. If we kill him, the Vietnamese will use it as an excuse to persecute everyone. So, let's not fall for it, don't create any trouble..." The voice grew louder and closer, circling around the back window and arriving at the door.
Bao Yulin was puzzled, who did they say was the traitor? Still in the prisoner-of-war camp, it seemed that caution was needed. Listening carefully, someone was about to come in. Bao Yulin made an effort to turn his head around and opened his eyes wide, he wanted his comrades to see that he was already awake.
He was a young soldier, his movements were quick and agile, as soon as he entered the house, he wanted to rush in, but at this moment, he found Bao Yulin staring at him with wide eyes. His anxious footsteps stopped abruptly.
The person behind him was caught off guard and bumped into his body: "Little Wang, what are you doing?" Xiaobing was knocked to the ground, but he didn't say a word.
"Is he awake?" The person who followed immediately reacted. He dodged Xiaobing while asking.
。。。。。。
A strange phenomenon appeared in the big shed, as a number of people emerged one after another from behind Xiaobing's back. However, no one continued to move forward, instead they stood still near the door, forming a line at a distance. No one spoke, and everyone stared at Bao Yulin lying on the bed.
Bao Yulin felt strange, in such a situation, according to the army's habit, everyone should have come over to ask about his well-being, but now, why were these people looking at him with such eyes, making him feel so eerie, as if he had become a little lamb trapped in a pack of wolves, appearing so helpless.
"Comrades, good... I am Bao Yulin... originally from the 41st Army's 64th Regiment..." Bao Yulin said this with great difficulty, his voice was very soft, but he had to continue speaking, and at this moment, the scene made him feel very uncomfortable.
"That's right! It's him!" "It's this voice." "This is that traitor!" "Damn, losing face for Chinese soldiers!"
As soon as Bao Yulin's words fell, the people standing by the door began to discuss and argue with each other. Bao Yulin was left bewildered. What was going on? It seemed that they were talking about a traitor, and it sounded like they were referring to himself. What was happening?
"Alright, let's stop talking and do what we need to do! Just ignore people like him!" A man wearing a four-pocket military uniform, clearly a cadre, spoke up and walked into the barracks first. Apparently, he was the leader of these people.
As he walked away, others took action. Everyone did their own thing, and no one paid attention to Bao Yulin. It was as if he didn't exist.
It was the little soldier who had arrived first, who saw the noodles with eggs next to Fang Yulin's house. He rushed over in a few steps, picked it up and said: "Hey, not bad, there are noodles to eat, it seems that being a traitor is not bad." The little soldier said while picking up his chopsticks, ready to start eating. Xiao Wang's action surprised everyone, but no one knew what to say, they all looked at the cadre who had just spoken.
"Xiao Wang, put down your noodles!" Another older veteran who had been watching the officer without speaking couldn't help but say.
"Why? He can eat noodles, I can too. It's been ages since we've had a good meal." Perhaps seeing the officer not speaking up, the soldier's courage grew and he started eating without hesitation, picking up his chopsticks and digging in.
No one said anything else, and many people just watched Xiaobing eating noodles like that.

"You! Put down your bowl!" A female voice rang out: "All prisoners of war assemble on the playground immediately. This is an order!"
For a moment, Bao Yulin seemed to feel that he had heard the woman's voice somewhere before, but he really couldn't remember.
With a sharp whistle, the playground fell silent after a burst of footsteps.
"Everyone should have heard Captain Ruan Yuanjia's order. Bao Yulin, as an active member of the ideological transformation, has been appointed by Captain Ruan as the Chinese administrator of your prisoner-of-war camp. Currently, he is still injured and cannot get up. You should take care of him and show concern for him. However, I just found out that the special meal we carefully prepared for Bao Yulin was eaten by Wang Xiaodong."
"Wang Xiaodong, fall in!" a female voice commanded.
"Do you know that because of your Chinese army's invasion, our Vietnamese people are in a precarious situation? But even so, to take care of the patients and active reformists, we still prepared delicious food for them from our limited supplies. However, this food is not for those who are lazy and gluttonous!" The woman said with conviction.
"I hereby declare that Wang Xiaodong's selfish and self-serving behavior will be punished with 5 days of confinement. The rest of you, who saw Wang Xiaodong's actions but did not stop him or report it, will also be punished! Today's rations will be cut in half and you will all stand at attention for half an hour. All prisoners, listen to my orders, attention!" the woman's voice commanded loudly.
。。。。。。
Bao Yulin listened to the commotion on the playground in his room, and he really couldn't understand how he had become an active advocate for ideological transformation. What was going on?
Just as Bao Yulian was puzzled, the loudspeaker suddenly spoke up, and a voice that Bao Yulian was very familiar with came out of it.
"My name is Bao Yulin, I am a soldier of the 41st Army 64th Division of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. I was deceived by the Chinese government to join the army in March this year. Since I enlisted, our unit has been indoctrinating us with ideas that undermine the friendly relations between China and Vietnam...”
Bao Yulin lay on his bed, the loudspeaker's words exploding like a bomb in his heart. It was only then that he understood why his comrades looked at him with such disdain and hatred - it turned out that he was the traitor they were talking about.
The loudspeaker's voice was very loud and clear, but Bao Yulin could no longer make out what it was saying inside. None of this mattered. What he most wanted to figure out now was that he knew this was indeed his own voice, but he had never said these words before! This must be the enemy's trickery, imitating his own voice and fabricating it. Bao Yulin wanted to loudly tell his comrades that he had never said those words, that they were all framed by the enemy. But he opened his mouth wide, unable to speak a word.
。。。。。。
Bao Yulin was struggling on the bed when two Vietnamese soldiers came in carrying a stretcher. Without saying a word, they put Bao Yulin on the stretcher and carried him away.
The stretcher was carried along the edge of the playground to the canteen used by the Vietnamese guards, and all the Chinese prisoners standing on the playground stared at it. Bao Yulin lay on the stretcher like a walking corpse, his eyes wide open and his mouth agape. But he couldn't see anything or say anything.
。。。。。。
"Bao Yulin, do you know who I am?" Bao Yulin heard the woman's voice again after being splashed with a cup of cold water and waking up.
Bao Yulin came to, the stretcher was placed on the ground, and above it, a Vietnamese female officer stood at the edge, leaning forward and staring into his eyes. For some reason, he had a feeling of familiarity towards her. He opened his mouth but didn't speak.
"I'm telling you, my name is Wu Hongyuan, I am Wu Hongmei's sister. Do you know who Wu Hongmei is?" The Vietnamese female officer stared into Bao Yulian's eyes and asked.
Bao Yulin ignored Wu Hongying, in his opinion, who Wu Hongying or Wu Hongmei was didn't matter. What mattered was how he could make the comrades believe that what the loudspeaker said wasn't true.
Wu Honglian didn't seem to want Bao Yulian to answer anything, and she also knew that Bao Yulian was very weak.
"Do you still remember that sniper battle by the river? My sister was the last female warrior to sacrifice herself! Was it you who shot her with bullets until she was unrecognizable?" Wu Hongying carefully observed Bao Yulian's reaction.
As soon as he heard this, Bao Yulin's heart suddenly jumped up, and he suddenly remembered why he always had a familiar feeling when he saw Wu Honglian.
The changes on Bao Yulin's face all fell into Wu Hongying's eyes, and her face suddenly turned bright red. At this moment, she hated to tear Bao Yulin into pieces immediately! It can be confirmed that this Bao Yulin must be the murderer who killed her sister. Even if he wasn't, he must have seen her sister!
Wu Hongyan's face twisted in a scowl: "Bao Yulin, I'm telling you, it was me who led the assault team to raid the field hospital, and it was also me who captured you. And I can tell you that your statement was fabricated by our Ministry of Internal Affairs! The reason I won't kill you now is because I don't want you to die so quickly! I want you to live in pain forever, just like me!" Wu Hongyan spat out these words through gritted teeth.
Bao Yulin's expression became very strange, Wu Hongying knew that Bao Yulin was making a decision.
"Don't even think about committing suicide, let me tell you, from now on, I'll be keeping an eye on you every minute! Do you know why I knew you couldn't eat and still personally cooked a bowl of noodles for you? It's because I want to take someone hostage. If you say or do anything out of line, I'll take his life! I think it would be a good excuse if you were to die after violating the rules and being locked up. Cheer up, from now on, these things will always be with you, and if you don't behave, one of your comrades will definitely accompany you in death!"
Wu Honglian's words struck Bao Yulin's heart like a thunderbolt. He could sacrifice himself, but he couldn't drag his comrades down with him. Oh heavens! Why must I suffer so?! Bao Yulin silently screamed in his heart.
Looking at Bao Yulin slowly closing his eyes and the tears left in the corners of his eyes, Wu Hongdiao smiled. She only now understood what Uncle Wu had said. It's not hard to shoot someone dead, it's just a matter of pulling the trigger. But if you want to take revenge on someone, the best way is to let him live a life worse than death, watching his soul being destroyed, living in pain every day! Let him have suffering that cannot be spoken, and a mouth that cannot open!
At this moment, Wu Hongyan savored the thrill of revenge.
