Youth Begins Because of You (1)
Friday, April 9, 2010 sunny
Every Friday and the 9th of every month are my favorite days. Because, Friday means I don't have to go to work the next day, and the 9th of every month reminds me that I will receive my salary tomorrow.
Of course, these are now completely meaningless to a little devil like me.
Now I really want to go online.
I haven't been online for a long time.
I used to think I couldn't go a day without the internet, without gossiping, without shopping on Taobao, without watching Kangxi... In those previous days, sadness made me throw all of that to the back of my mind. However, when the saddest times passed, I started missing gossip, missing Taobao, missing Kangxi.
No one at the end of the sky will know that the owner of an ID has left this world, and this ID will never log in again, nor rush into those posts that are either melodramatic or funny or explosive "Braised Pork Chop". The owners of Taobao stores won't notice that a small buyer's avatar has gone dark, and from now on they won't participate in those crazy flash sales or group purchases. And I've found it very hard to know who was forced out of the closet by Kangxi recently, who was humiliated by Xiaos, and what new roles Chen Handian has developed...
I am a little devil who wants to surf the internet very much.
So I couldn't help but envy Wei Xingyun, who had started playing his World of Warcraft again, a game that this gaming idiot would never be able to understand or play.
I was lurking behind him, hitting his head, making faces at him and sticking out my tongue at his computer screen.
A ghost's self-entertainment.
He wasn't like that when he was little, at that time he never indulged in any games, calm and different from others. When we slept in on weekends watching TV and playing wildly, he practiced piano in a bright classroom.
It was in the winter of my first year in junior high school when I first knew he could play the piano.
The New Year's Eve party of the school, each class had to put on two programs. Under the organization of our English teacher at that time, our class rehearsed two English short plays, one called "Little Animals in the Forest" and the other was "Cinderella".
The first program was purely participatory, with almost two-thirds of the class participating, playing small animals, flowers and grass, and even a tree... Notably, Yang Can played Santa Claus, but during the performance, his beard fell off. Fortunately, he continued to perform strongly, finishing his lines and then calmly exiting the stage.
I actively fought for the role of Cinderella's stepmother, Tan Jiarui was easily chosen to play the prince because of his good looks, our English class representative, a small girl with big eyes played Cinderella, and Xie Xiangan made a guest appearance as the king.
Except for the lines which were written by our English teacher, everything else including memorizing lines, rehearsing, props and costumes was all handled by ourselves. It was everyone's first time being entrusted with such a big responsibility, so everyone was extremely enthusiastic, not only during class hours but also during holidays, we would gather together to design expressions and movements, and repeatedly rehearse.
That was almost the most interesting time for me to learn English, every moment I would involuntarily repeat the lines from the play. To this day, I still remember a line that Cinderella's stepmother said when she told Cinderella that after finishing sorting the beans, she could attend the ball:
When we were discussing the accompaniment, Zhang Shanshan, who played the bad sister, suddenly suggested that Wei Xingyun come to play the piano accompaniment.
Everyone stared at her in surprise.
"Will Wei Xingyun play the piano?" Xie Xiand asked out of everyone's curiosity.
"Right," said Zhang Shan, "his mother used to be a teacher at our kindergarten and now teaches piano at the Children's Palace. Wei Xingyun passed the amateur tenth level when he was in elementary school."
Everyone was shocked, I remained silent, was the person she mentioned the Wei Xingyun I knew?
After discussion, everyone agreed to invite Wei Xingyun to join us. At first, Wei Xingyun did not agree, saying that he was not very good at playing the piano and had no feeling when playing it. However, everyone repeatedly persuaded him: our performance requirements are not high, having no feelings is okay, as long as we can impress the audience...
So our little skit now has a piano accompaniment, and it sounds really cool.
He started joining our rehearsals, but most of the time, we didn't have the conditions to find a piano for him to practice, so he could only hold the score and be a human prop on the side. Only on weekends at Zhang Shanshan's home, he could use Zhang Shanshan's electronic keyboard to accompany us.
After he joined us, during the first rehearsal, when I said that line "Iellalie" with a pretentious and mysterious tone, I noticed Wei Xingyun smiled slightly. Then, while everyone was paying attention to Cinderella, I winked at him.
He was taken aback for a moment, then reacted, but just smiled politely.
I suddenly felt a bit awkward and quickly withdrew my gaze, resuming my sharp and sarcastic tone towards poor Cinderella.
One side recites lines while thinking in his heart: You little brat, didn't you take the initiative to shake hands and make peace with me?
At that time, I thought things were too simple and didn't understand. Sometimes when others are nice to you, it's not necessarily because they want to be friends with you, but maybe just to reduce some trouble.
Let me think about it, what was Wei Xingyun like on the night of the formal performance?
His mother had prepared a black suit and leather shoes for him, he calmly put them on, only taking off the tie around his neck and unbuttoning two buttons.
An originally ordinary face suddenly became exquisite.
And what about me?
My pigtails were tied up with my mom's fake hair, and I wore a deep blue long dress borrowed from the photo studio. My sneakers were hidden under the long skirt. Because it was winter, I was afraid of the cold, so I also wore a white autumn jacket inside. My face was heavily made up, did I look good? No, no, no, I looked old-fashioned and extremely ridiculous.
But at that time, I didn't have such awareness, and instead felt very proud of myself, thinking that I had suddenly become a sinister noblewoman in a fairy tale, which was very enjoyable.
When the stage lights changed, everyone's attention was focused on Cinderella and the prince who were dancing together, but I looked at Wei Xingyun on the other side.
He played only an ordinary piano moved out from the school music classroom, his expression was calm and natural without any extra emotions, his eyes did not gaze at anyone in the audience but focused solely on the piano in front of him, a string of notes flowed out smoothly like flowing water under his hands.
The blue light shone on his body, and the tiny ripples floated in front of him. I suddenly felt that everything here was illusory, only we were real.
Now thinking about it, I guess it was at that moment that Wei Xingyun became an extraordinary person in my heart.
The author has something to say: Finally there are comments... It's so cool... Haha
