Chapter 11: Ripples Rise Again (Part 2)

Volume 1: The Fierce Tiger Leaves Its Leash Chapter 11: Stirring Up Waves Again (Part 2)

In the cave, the green fluorescent light only illuminated a corner, and other places were still shrouded in darkness. After taking off his night vision goggles, Ling Tianxiang took ten minutes to let his eyes adapt to this dark environment, and then he instinctively quickly observed the situation in the cave.

The fluorescent lamp was placed near the radio, a wire connecting the radio to an antenna set up outside, disguised as a rock. The radio was battery-powered and didn't seem very powerful, probably a specialized satellite communication device. Next to the radio were piles of weapons and ammunition, mostly NATO-standard bullets and several types of guns. On the other side were food and water supplies, enough for 100 people to use for several days. In other areas of the cave, team members lay on the ground or sat on rocks, silent as if waiting for news. Finally, Ling Tianxiang confirmed that Gu Weimin was not in the cave, probably observing from near the exit.

This is obviously a temporary camp that has been set up not long ago, probably just to find him and Wei Daming. The terrain inside the cave is not complicated at all, and it's even not very conducive to defense, but that doesn't matter, if the US military had the guts to sneak into the cave, they wouldn't use heavy bombers to deal with the Taliban fighters hiding in the cave.

  "Tianshang, drink some water."

Ling Tian Xiao suddenly came back to his senses, took the water bottle from the teammate beside him, and then stood up.

  "Where are you going?"

Ling Tianhui turned his head and glanced at the comrade who stood up with him, obviously arranged by Gu Weimin to keep an eye on him. "What, can't I move around freely?"

"No, it's just Commander Gu who cares about you and takes extra care of you, that's special treatment."

Ling Tianxiang smiled and shook his head. "Then I'll go get some food, should be no problem, right?"

That team member shrugged, indicating that Ling Tianxiang could do as he pleased. However, his gaze followed Ling Tianxiang's back until he walked to the place where food was stored, and only then did he sit down.

Piled up together were high-calorie military rations, specially provided for special forces, a small piece could replace the consumption of an ordinary person for a day. Ling Tianxiang first filled his canteen with water, then filled his own canteen with water, and then picked up a ration. When the signal soldier looked at him, he had already picked up the third ration. Ling Tianxiang smiled slightly at the signal soldier who was backlit by the fluorescent light, and then walked away as if nothing had happened.

The team member who was still observing Ling Tianxiang's movements saw that he was walking aimlessly in the cave and gradually lowered his guard. Five minutes later, Ling Tianxiang walked around to the other side of the radio station, where the guns and ammunition were stored. The communications soldier turned his head back to look at Ling Tianxiang again.

"Not bad, just a bit off with the sights!" Ling Tianxiang made an expert-like expression as he picked up the M4 on top, took a look and put it aside, then picked up the G36K below. "This one's not bad, looks like it's brand new, still has machine oil on it."

The communications soldier shook his head and then didn't pay any more attention to Ling Tianxiang. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Ling Tianxiang quickly picked up the several pistol magazines placed on one side, and then stuffed two boxes of .30 caliber NATO bullets into his own pocket. The entire action was very quick, and it did not attract the attention of others around him. When the communications soldier turned his head again, Ling Tianxiang retreated two steps, while glancing at the several rifles mounted on the rock wall beside him. His M40 sniper rifle, as well as other equipment removed from his body, were all there.

"Tianxiang, come sit down, you've just recovered, take a good rest!" The team member in charge of keeping an eye on Ling Tianxiang was getting a bit impatient with his constant pacing back and forth.

"It's nothing, I've already recovered a lot. Where are Captain Gu and the others?" Ling Tianxiang deliberately slowed down his pace while paying attention to the direction of the ground wire extension.

"Observing the enemy outside to determine the time for withdrawal, but it should be soon, the US military's search can't last forever......" Seeing Ling Tianxiang suddenly walking towards the depths of the mountain cave, the team member immediately shut his mouth and stood up, "Where are you going?"

"Finally, I've been holding it in for three days, are you coming?" Ling Tianhui turned his head to take a look.

That teammate immediately followed up. "I've been holding back all day, and it's just right to have someone to chat with, so I won't be nervous while squatting."

Both of them burst out laughing, and Ling Tianxiang quickened his pace. After turning a corner, he felt that the comrade behind him had followed up. Then, he suddenly stopped in his tracks, and with a swift elbow strike, he hit the head of the person behind him, while at the same time, his left hand struck the neck of the team member with a palm knife. The force was just right, and the team member following Ling Tianxiang barely blocked the elbow strike but ignored the incoming palm knife and was immediately knocked unconscious. At this moment, Ling Tianxiang also turned around and hugged the comrade's body.

"Sorry, brother. When I come back alive, I'll definitely apologize and give you compensation. At that time, let you chop me ten times!" Ling Tianxiang said in a low voice to his comrade who was unconscious on the ground, then quickly stretched out his head to glance at several other team members lying on the mountain cave floor. Those team members were all meditating and no one noticed the change that had occurred here.

After quickly retrieving the equipment on the rock wall, Ling Tianxiang checked it and confirmed that nothing was missing. He then put on his tactical vest and slung the sniper rifle over his shoulder. As he stood up, he noticed the M4 carbine on his comrade's back and stopped again to take it off, along with several spare magazines. After reconfirming that he hadn't forgotten any equipment, Ling Tianxiang proceeded to crawl into the cave following the power line on the ground.

As soon as Gu Weimin walked into the grand hall of the mountain cave, he felt something was off. "Get up, everyone! Who saw Little Zhang and Tianxiang?"

The roar of anger echoed in the cave, and those team members who were lying on the ground to rest immediately jumped up like a spring. The communication soldier sitting at the radio also looked back at Gu Weimin with a puzzled expression, whose face was full of anger.

"Captain Gu..." The team member who was knocked unconscious by Ling Tianxiang struggled to get up, leaning against the rock wall. "Tianxiang knocked me out and took my weapon."

Gu Weimin took a step forward, and at the same time he noticed that the M40 sniper rifle that had been placed on the rock wall was gone.
