Section 15: Secret Infiltration (Part 2)

Volume 1: The Fierce Tiger Leaves Its Leash Chapter 15: Secretly Infiltrating (Part 2)

The interior layout of the US military command center has a relatively fixed pattern, with long-distance communication radios on the left and communication equipment for internal command of troops on the right. In the middle is a sandbox model of the area under the responsibility of this unit, and in one corner there is also an armory for storing firearms. Due to the extensive use of electronic devices, especially after the widespread computerization of large-scale networks, the US military's command system is quite complex, with many new command equipment added.

Ling Tianxiang only glanced inside from the window corner and roughly judged the situation in the command post. There were only two communication soldiers on duty, and three other people. What excited Ling Tianxiang the most was that Colonel John and intelligence personnel Swirely were both inside, and another person looked like a special forces soldier. After entering, he would definitely have to take out the special forces soldier first and then quickly control the situation. The problem was, how to get in? The command post's wall was made of high-strength engineering plastic, which couldn't be cut with a dagger, and using explosives would be too obvious. Entering through the front door would also be too conspicuous.

Ling Tian Xiang hid in the corner, and soon his gaze shifted to the barracks on the west side of the camp. Perhaps he could get a set of US military uniforms and walk in with confidence. Even if the sentry in the high tower saw him, no one would be able to make out his appearance. It shouldn't be a problem, right?

After thinking for a moment, Ling Tianxiang got up. He glanced at his watch and saw that it was 1:18 AM; there should still be enough time. Between the command center and the barracks, there was an empty space about 10 meters wide. Ling Tianxiang leaned against the wall of the command center to observe the movement pattern of the searchlights on the tower. When several searchlights had moved away, he quickly sprinted across the 10-meter-wide open space and hid himself in the corner of the barracks. Before the searchlights turned back, Ling Tianxiang had already disappeared from there.

As he approached the rear of the barracks, he suddenly heard a sound coming from near a Striker armored vehicle on the south side. The sound was that of someone walking through puddles in leather shoes. Ling Tianxiang immediately stopped and raised his pistol. A swaying figure emerged behind one of the Strikers, followed by the sound of unzipping pants and urination. Ling Tianxiang slightly furrowed his brow - did the US military not even have enough money to build a toilet? Or were these well-educated, self-proclaimed superior American soldiers fond of urinating in open spaces?

Ling Tianxiang didn't think that much, this was a very good opportunity. He quickly put away his pistol and pulled out a thin steel wire wrapped around his belt. Then he quietly walked to the back of the American soldier who was somewhat dazed. The steel wire wrapped around the American's neck, tightening quickly, while Ling Tianxiang used his right knee to press against the American's buttocks. The American soldier struggled desperately, but it was useless. Two minutes later, the American kicked his legs twice and then went limp. Ling Tianxiang waited for half a minute to confirm that the American had stopped breathing before dragging the body behind the armored vehicle. Then he quickly took off the American's jacket. When he smelled a foul odor of feces, he threw away the American's pants. It was normal for people to lose control of their bowels when they were suffocating, Ling Tianxiang just didn't want his clothes to be stained with blood, but he hadn't expected this result.

After putting on the American soldier's coat, Ling Tianxiang quickly wiped off the ink from his face and looked himself up and down, feeling that there was no major problem. He then imitated the American soldier's appearance, slinging the M4 carbine rifle behind him and hiding as much of the other weapons and ammunition as possible inside the coat. It wasn't until he stood up that he realized something was missing. Ling Tianxiang touched his head, then looked towards the barracks.

Because this is a semi-permanent camp, the barracks are also made of prefabricated engineering plastics. Each room accommodates one squad of soldiers and is very spacious, more than twice as large as Ling Tianxiang's dormitory in the army, but Ling Tianxiang had four people living together. The other American soldiers were all asleep, around 2 am was when people are most tired and sleep the best. Ling Tianxiang's eyes quickly adapted to the dim light in the room, and he saw the military uniforms and hats hanging on the wall. Seeing that the other American soldiers did not discover him, Ling Tianxiang quickly took down a hat and turned to leave the barracks.

From the barracks to the command center, there is a distance of about 150 meters. Ling Tianxiang walked very slowly, pretending to be normal, although the searchlight had swept over him several times, but none of them stopped, which was enough to prove that the US military had not found anything unusual.

About 20 meters away from the command post, Ling Tianxiang quickened his pace and pulled out the MK23 combat pistol holstered at his waist. He quickly screwed on the silencer that had been taken off earlier and loaded the first round into the chamber, then released the two safeties on the gun. After completing these actions, he arrived at the door of the command center, knocked twice, and without waiting for a response from inside, pushed open the door and walked in.

The special forces officer was facing Ling Tianxiang, and just as he reacted, a .45-caliber bullet entered between his eyes, leaving a small hole, while a large hole the size of a bowl appeared on the back of his head. The communications soldier on the left side of the door had just reached out to grab the gun holster hanging on the wall when two bullets hit his head and left chest in succession. The communications soldier on the right side had already stood up, but his movements were still too slow, and two bullets hit his face and neck respectively.

When Ling Tianxiang pointed the gun at the colonel who had just pulled out his pistol, the colonel seemed to realize something and immediately put down his pistol on the table, raising both hands to indicate that he did not want to resist. However, this was unable to save his life, as two bullets quickly sent him into the arms of God or Satan.

The intelligence officer, who had been facing away from Ling Tianxiang, had already pulled out a handgun and turned around. Ling Tianxiang had also rushed to his back. The bullet hit the intelligence officer's hand that was holding the gun. Before he could even cry out in pain, Ling Tianxiang had struck him on the back of the neck with his palm, knocking him unconscious!
