Chapter 1: One Shot Returns "One Shot" Flying Warehouse Network
Western Line Corps, a mechanized infantry tank unit is on standby for deployment. To teach the ungrateful and treacherous Vietnamese army a lesson, soldiers are clenching their fists and preparing with high morale, waiting for the scouts to return.
Dien Bien Province is located in the northwest of Vietnam, 240 kilometers north of Kim Ping County. The terrain is continuous and mountainous, with rugged roads and closed transportation. Chang Lin led Xiaopang and a scout to explore enemy situations and road conditions in a jeep.
"Halt!" As the reconnaissance platoon leader, Chang Lin, who had come to aid Vietnam a year ago, felt something was off. It shouldn't be this quiet here, and there shouldn't be no armed personnel in sight.
The car screeched to a halt, and Chang Lin didn't wait for it to come to a complete stop before jumping out onto the road. He held up his binoculars and carefully observed the surroundings, muttering curses: "This is ridiculous, it doesn't look like two countries are at war!"
He walked to the roadside bushes and pulled down his pants due to a sudden call of nature.
"Boom!"
A burst of flames flashed from the waist of the opposite mountain, and a woman was seen firing a rocket at the jeep. With a loud bang, the car and two soldiers were hit. Angered, Chang Lin bent over and ran forward, he wanted to avenge his comrades, to take down that damned Vietnamese woman!
In front was a small town called Meng Lei Town. Last year, Chang Lin had been here before, he made up his mind to get rid of the damned woman and find a car back to report the situation. However, when he walked onto the gravel road, he heard a thunder-like whistling sound.
Suddenly, Chang Lin stood up. But a fear he had never seen before appeared in his eyes, and the waves rolled in from afar like a tsunami. He knew this was not ordinary river water, and it might be a sign of a reservoir collapse.
"Run!" Chang Lin had only one conviction in his heart, he must run to the mountain before the flood arrived. However, the water flow carried mud and even rocks, as if a landslide was coming, Chang Lin was swept away by the turbulent water flow to a bay area of the mountain.
The reconnaissance platoon leader, who was struggling in the floodwaters beyond his control, was crushed by a large tree that had been uprooted. He didn't even have time to catch his breath before he fainted and fell from under the tree. However, a weak arm stretched out from behind, grabbed his hair, and pulled him towards the rolling trunk.
"He's awake! He's awake!" A soft cry startled the iron-blooded soldier who had just regained consciousness. Two girls were protecting him on either side, still drifting with the current.
"Ah Lin, it's me! I'm the Ajiao you rescued from the leopard's mouth!" The girl on the right kept shaking Ah Lin's arm, her face excitedly shouting.
"Nguy?n á Quyên!" Zhōng Lín was shocked. This girl was a Vietnamese, yet she had saved his life at the moment when their two countries were at war.
The trunk was just blocked by the mountain, and the three people quickly pulled the thorny vines to jump out of the flood. Chang Lin pulled A Juan to climb up the slope, but unexpectedly stumbled and almost fell!
"Ouch!" He fell to the ground all of a sudden and only then did he realize that the base of his right leg had been stabbed by a tree branch.
"Blood!" The two girls exclaimed, propping up the sturdy man who had been washed away by the flood. The three of them panted heavily on the hillside, no longer having any strength to stand up.
Ajiao was fifteen years old, with a nose like garlic and big eyes. She was a Yao ethnic minority girl with clear eyebrows and beautiful eyes, elegant and refined, just like a lotus flower emerging from the water. She was 1.58 meters tall, wearing a worn-out but brightly colored cheongsam. Another woman looked even smaller, but also gentle in manner, with a beautiful appearance.
Chang Lin was grateful to the lifesavers, but he didn't have time to thank them, as his wound continued to bleed. Ah Juan squatted down, tore open the pants that had been pierced by tree branches, and found that the young man inside was a vacuum. Her face turned red, but she still tore off a piece of cloth from her own clothes, wiped clean the wound, and tightly bandaged it. Chang Lin's sweat drops fell continuously, and he kept inhaling cold air through his mouth.
"Bang!" A gunshot rang out from the mountain across, and three people hastily fell into the bushes, discovering two Viet Cong soldiers and a woman on the other side.
"Hurry, it's not safe here!" Chang Lin knew that if they delayed any further, the gunfire from across would become even more intense. The three of them crawled towards the top of the mountain, and only by entering the forest would they be safe.
"Your gun." The little girl on his left suddenly stretched out her arm and handed a handgun to Chang Lin.
"It's too far, the handgun can't reach!" Due to the obstruction of the flood, people on the other side couldn't come over either. Chang Lin didn't want to waste bullets and crawled into the woods under the care of the two girls.
Three people, parched and exhausted, sat behind a tree trunk, panting non-stop. Clever A Juan searched for edible things in the forest, but after running around, she couldn't find anything that could be eaten. Chang Lin furrowed his brow and said, "Let's go, hold on a bit longer, once we get over this mountain, there will be villages."
"No, there are troops in the village!" The little girl's expression changed dramatically, and she said tearfully: "I escaped from the village, the Viet Minh forced the villagers to evacuate, and all the houses were burned down by the big fire!"
"Yue army?" Chang Lin was stunned. His own troops were slaughtering and driving away his own people, what for?
"Starve the wall and clear the field, do not give food and water to the Chinese army." Ah Juan walked over and finally picked a few mountain fruits, three people shared the sour and hard-to-swallow fruit.
Dien Bien Phu City, historically a territory of the Tang Dynasty, is part of China. After being forcibly taken by Vietnam, villages originally belonging to the Chinese became ethnic minorities in Vietnam. However, they all know that they belong to the Yao, Viet and Dai ethnic groups and speak the Chinese language.
There are enemies on both sides and his own legs can't move. Chang Lin anxiously said, "You guys go ahead, being with me will bring bad luck!"
"No!" Ajiao shook her head firmly, pointing southwest and saying: "There are steep cliffs there, let's go find a cave to hide in."
Chang Lin cried and laughed as he said: "What's the use of hiding? Are we going to starve ourselves to death?"
"Get you settled down first, then we'll go look for food." Ah Juan wiped the sweat off her face and brushed her hair back before bending to pick up the man on the ground.
"You can't carry me, let's walk together." This was a mountain forest, and it was extremely difficult for one person to walk. The slender girl wanted to carry the iron tower strong man, which was really not easy. Chang Lin refused the girl's kindness, stretched out his arm and let them support him as he walked along the mountain waist.
After walking for four or five miles, the mountain suddenly shook. Chang Lin's face changed, and he pulled the two girls to the ground. Cannonballs were seen flying overhead, heading straight for the village below.
Hundreds of shells instantly blew the enemy in the mountain village into the sky, and Chang Lin pointed to the urgent shout below: "Hurry up and grab back all the useful things!"
Two girls were running in the mountain forest, and they arrived more than two miles away in the blink of an eye. They were searching for useful things, not even a pair of shoes was spared. As they walked back and forth, a man and a woman chased after them from behind.
Chang Lin hastily loaded the pistol bullets, crouched down and held his breath waiting for the opportunity. Two mountain village girls kept running, reluctant to throw away what they were holding in their hands.
"It's terrible!" Chang Lin couldn't bear to save them, seeing Ah Juan like this, almost shouting out loud.
The distance was getting closer and closer, so Changlin had to fire a bullet. The people chasing behind heard the gunshot and crouched on the ground to identify the movement in the woods. Ajuan rushed back to where Changlin was hiding, suddenly exposing the target.
"Give me a hand grenade!" Chang Lin could only bitterly smile, but seeing the girl hugging the gun and ammunition, his eyes lit up and he shouted out.
"Bang!"
"Ouch!" The little girl was hit from behind and fell to the ground crying out in pain.
Chang Lin knew she was not in danger, and had to take out the enemy first! He took over the Soviet-style hand grenade handed over by A Juan, and threw it down the mountain with all his might. The pursuers saw that they were at a disadvantage, and hastily retreated and ran away.
"Bang!" Ah Juan fired a shot, instantly shattering the man's skull. The woman holding the gun saw she couldn't escape and dropped her weapon, raising her hands.
"Go, bring her over." Chang Lin was surprised at Ah Juan's marksmanship, this was a divine shooter. But he didn't have time to ask questions, letting her hurry up and bring the captive over. He wasn't after the captive and their opponent's weapons, but rather afraid that the enemy would escape and reveal their hiding place.
"Put down your guns! Put down your guns, put down your guns!" Ah Juan stood up with her gun and shouted loudly at the other side. The female captive raised her hands gently and stumbled towards the hillside.
"Tie her up!" Chang Lin saw the captive walk up to him and hastily raised his handgun, giving orders to Ah Juan.
Ajiao, who was petite and agile, quickly untied the belt from the woman's waist, twisted her arm behind her back, and tied it tightly. She ran over to help up Xiaohua and asked anxiously, "Xiaohua, where are you hurt?"
"Ass." Ah Hua's face turned red as she muttered: "The bullet just grazed it, didn't penetrate."
Chang Lin turned his head towards the two girls, but at this time, the female captive suddenly kicked his pistol away. The opponent suddenly struggled free from the bound waistband and pressed down on the man beside her.
Ajiao was stunned, raised her gun but didn't dare to shoot, watching the two people rolling down. She closely followed behind, waiting for an opportunity to strike. When Changlin was pinned under the woman's body with his neck caught, the girl used the butt of the gun to smash the female captive's head!
"Bang!" A loud explosion, the opponent's head was split open like a watermelon. Blood and brain matter splattered onto Chang Lin's upper body and face. He violently pushed away the corpse, his hands rubbing his neck as he gasped for breath.
"You——" Ajiao pointed at Changlin's lower body, so embarrassed that she didn't dare look directly again.
"Haha, I've become a naked immortal!" Chang Lin couldn't help but burst out laughing, rolling down the mountain with his pants already torn to shreds. His little brother was completely exposed, proudly standing upright.
"Damn, almost got blown up!" Chang Lin knew that just now the two people coincidentally stuck together, and the other's legs were clamped around "it". Taking a look at the dead female captive, he knew this was the culprit who killed Xiao Pang and destroyed the car with a rocket.
"Quickly, go and retrieve the two of their weapons from just now!" Chang Lin found that the rifle of that man was a bit strange, he wanted to study it carefully.
"I——" Ajuan covered her stomach and squatted on the ground, painfully crawling towards a distant place.
"Ah, you're also injured?" Chang Lin exclaimed, the girl's skirt was stained with blood, dripping down drop by drop. He worried, three people were all hurt, what to do...
