Chapter 4 Gold Mine

  Insufficient balance

The messy table was cleared, everyone sat down in front of the fireplace in the living room, the lights automatically dimmed, and a large screen on the wall began to play all the information.

The original government structure of the Aroch Kingdom in Southern Africa was a special 'democratized monarchical system'. Although it was managed by the king, a general election was held every ten years to elect a new king or confirm the legitimacy of the original king. It is generally believed that there are only two royal families with imperial blood in Aroch: Chitou and Krodla. The Chitou family has ruled Aroch for 120 years, except for the period from 1988 to 1998 when the king was a Krodla family member named Peipei.

The Lüshi family, after the re-election of King Pae, organized a large number of mercenaries to assassinate King Pae. Fortunately, thanks to the loyalty and bravery of the captain of the royal guard, King Pae was able to flee overseas and survive in hiding.

After that, in the ten years of autocratic rule by the Tlaxcaltec family, people's livelihoods were declining and all industries were abandoned. Government functional departments, including educational institutions, had been completely paralyzed for several years, and social welfare and security had been interrupted for at least 9 years.

The only business that continued to operate was Alok's mining industry. Alok discovered rich precious metal mines in 1988 and has been extracting them for nearly 20 years. The huge profits from this were mostly used for the luxurious expenses of the Alok family, with the rest being used by the military to hire foreign military advisers and purchase weapons, leaving almost no benefits for the people.

This is Arohk, a country dying in desperation and agony.

Arriving in South Africa on a French airline flight, Gui Long and his seven subordinates switched to a small private plane in the suburbs of Cape Town and flew shakily towards their destination - the Kingdom of Arolok! It's unknown where Ah Cheng found this arms dealer from, but as soon as they got off the plane, a black man threw a whole truckload of equipment at Gui Long and left, while another thin white man who looked like a monkey stayed behind to act as guide, translator, and liaison.

A torrential downpour and gale-force winds battered the truck, while everyone else was packed into the sweltering cargo compartment. Wiping sweat from his forehead, a lean white man began to brief them in all seriousness: "Ladies and gentlemen, your destination is a royal palace, where you'll find many other mercenaries like yourselves on guard duty! You know that this country has never had much of a regular army, relying mainly on mercenaries as its primary military force. The royal guards number over 300, with three T-34 tanks and some Stinger anti-aircraft missiles; the rest are mostly light infantry. Today we'll head to a nearby village to settle in for the night - your reinforcements are already waiting for you. And tomorrow is the ruling family's anniversary of coming to power, when all the male members will go to the palace zoo to watch the beast-fighting show... it's up to you then!"

The driving rain gently tapped on the car's roof, in a long and short rhythm. The SB in the carriage suddenly cut open the canvas above with one knife, quickly extending a MINIMI heavy machine gun, while others also picked up their weapons beside them, the car came to a stop.

Before my eyes lies a small village that has just been destroyed, simple mud-brick round houses crushed into dust by tanks, burning thatched roofs spewing flames under the scorching sun, dozens of corpses scattered throughout the small village, some corpses shot into beehives by machine guns on T-34s, and others simply flattened into a dry human skin by the wide tracks of T-34s!

The white tour guide's face was filled with terror: "Oh God... I just left here five hours ago! The reinforcements are finished..."

Several people were dispatched to search the perimeter, while others hastily found a large tree that had been knocked down. Several men combined their strength to move the tree away and dug furiously for a while. The white guide leader lifted his head in despair: "It's all over! All the heavy artillery is here, crushed by tanks!"

"Ghost Dragon, what are we going to do? Without heavy firepower, we can't take down the T-34. We'll have to rely on snipers to take out 300 mercenaries and dozens of key targets?"

The Tsar, who had been tossing about in the carriage for half a day, also jumped down helplessly: "There are no heavy firearms, at most AK series rifles and a few grenade launchers, which can't deal with those big guys at all!"

The demon dragon sat down behind a piece of shade, to be strict, no matter what the reason was, the mercenary corps that had not completed its first mission was almost sentenced to death. Was it defeated by these few old tanks in its first battle?

Taking advantage of the night, Guī Lóng led Dà Gōng and Qīn Wáng to a small hill near the palace, although there was not much vegetation to cover Guī Lóng's body, but the effect of the camouflage paint covering his whole body was quite good. It's just that the smell was too unbearable, even the insects that usually circled above their heads were gone, it seems that the American camouflage paint really has a good mosquito-repelling effect!

Kneeling on the scorching ground, Guī Lóng held up a Russian-made white light telescope to carefully examine the defensive deployment of the imperial palace. This was a common quadrangular large building in Africa, although the Qīnghé family spent a lot of money on it, but it still gave the imperial palace a kind of nouveau riche coarseness and shallowness.

There is a watchtower at each of the four corners of the building, which should be a product of the Cold Arms era. There are even several old leather shields on it, and one or two sentries are shaking inside. Three T-34 tanks are parked in the open space in front of the palace, one of which is warming up the engine. Several tank drivers are chatting and drinking by the bonfire next to the tank, while many people in some concrete buildings on the left side of the palace are excitedly sharing the spoils brought back from the daytime looting.

The big cat slipped over from the left, "Captain, I took a look at the back of the imperial palace, and there are at least twenty or more lions in the arena inside. What do these guys plan to do here? Open a zoo?"
