Volume 1 Chapter 11

  After occupying Fengtian, the 3rd Brigade of the 2nd Division of the Kwantung Army, the 2nd Cavalry Regiment and the 1st Independent Guard Unit quickly advanced towards Changchun.

  More than 200 Japanese devils from the third company of the first battalion of the independent guard brigade passed through a small village between Fenyang and Siping. The commander of this battalion, Major-General Ishikawa, was one of the main culprits who created the September 18th Incident, and he led his men to charge into the Beidaying barracks, firing the first shot at the Chinese troops. This company was also the vanguard of the first battalion's attack on Beidaying. The company commander, Captain Kawashima, was a short, fat, ugly-looking man with a stubble beard, and he was extremely cruel.

  When they saw the devils passing by, all the villagers were so scared that they hid in their houses and didn't dare to show their faces.

  The devils of this unit walked for two whole days, and everyone was exhausted. Kawashima ordered the troops to rest temporarily and sent two soldiers to the village to fetch water.

  Two Japanese soldiers entered the village, but found that every household had closed their doors, and no one dared to show their faces.

  "Damn it!" The two devils cursed and, having no choice, used their bayonets to pick up the two chickens before turning back to report to Captain Kawashima.

  Still no one dared to open the door and come out, those hiding in the house saw the group of devils outside, everyone was so scared that they were trembling all over, how could they still dare to open the door?

  Japanese soldiers started to break down the doors, and these ordinary people, mostly poor farmers from Shandong who had come to Northeast China, saw that the devils were going to break their doors, which would cost them money to repair. However, he only knew a few simple Chinese phrases and couldn't continue, so he turned his head and gave Liu Shikui a glance, indicating that he should take over.

  The traitorous interpreter Liu Shiqiu opened his loud voice and said: "Fellow villagers, don't be afraid. The masters just want to borrow a ride to Changchun! After walking for a few days, the masters are all tired and only want to ask you for some water to drink. I hope fellow villagers can help out."

  The villagers looked at each other with suspicion, and now that it had come to this, they could only prepare water for these devils in order to save their own lives. However, these kind-hearted people never thought that a disaster was waiting for them!

  Those short and ugly devils were gazing at the women in the village with lustful eyes, trying to find a "flower girl" among them. Suddenly, a young girl who was hiding in the crowd, trembling with fear, was pulled out by two devils from among the villagers. The girl looked about sixteen or seventeen years old, tall and slender, with a thick and long braid, her slightly red skin revealing a healthy beauty, and a pair of big eyes embedded on her rosy face.

  "Oh yeah! Flower girl! The flower girl is extremely good!" Almost all the devils stared with wide eyes.

  Captain Kawashima turned around, looked at this beautiful village girl, and his saliva flowed down. He walked up and pinched the little girl's face: "Yo Xi, flower girl, very good."

  Traitor Liu Shi-kui also came up with a smile on his face: "Miss, you have been favored by the prince, it's your good fortune!"

  Captain Kawashima waved his hand, and the two devils dragged the struggling and crying little girl towards their camp. At this moment, an old man in his sixties rushed out of the crowd, knelt down in front of Captain Kawashima, hugged his legs tightly and begged: "Officer, please don't! My daughter is still a virgin!"

  The old man rushed forward recklessly, hugging the legs of Kawashima Taichō: "Sir, please spare my daughter! Sir, please!"

  Suddenly, Captain Kawashima drew his command sword with a "swish" sound, and the cold light flashed as the snow-white military sword chopped down towards the old man's head!   Seeing her father being killed, the little girl struggled free from the two devils and rushed towards the old man's corpse, crying out: "Dad! Dad!" But she only ran a few steps before being pulled back by the devils who were much stronger than her.

  "Murder! The Easterners have murdered!" The villagers cried out in terror, scrambling to flee. Just as they were about to scatter, more than a dozen devils emerged, brandishing bayonet-tipped rifles and charging towards the slower-moving villagers. The glint of knives flashed, and more than a dozen innocent villagers fell into a pool of blood.

  A young woman who didn't have time to run away was caught by two devils. Seeing that the woman still had some charm, the two devils were overcome with lust and immediately tore off her clothes, ready to commit a violent act. At this moment, the woman's husband saw his wife being caught, he forgot his fear and turned back to kneel in front of the devils: "Officer, please have mercy! My wife is pregnant, you can't do this!"

  "Eight trigrams!" The devils cursed loudly. A gleaming dagger stabbed into the chest of that Han man, the knife stirred inside his body, and fresh blood spurted out like a gushing spring.

  Several young men were enraged by the brutal acts of the devils and grabbed wooden sticks from the wall to charge at them.

  The sharp crack of gunfire pierced the quiet northeastern plains, and the wicked bullets penetrated the chests of several young men.

  "Charge!" Captain Kawashima yelled, drawing his command sword. "Kill all these insolent natives!"

  The beastly devils went on a killing spree, chasing and slaughtering the fleeing villagers. Young men who were caught were stabbed to death with bayonets; those who ran faster were shot dead. Children who were caught were pinned to the ground, their legs torn apart while still alive, some were thrown into boiling water pots. The elderly who were caught were thrown into fires and burned alive. Young women who were caught had their babies snatched from their arms and smashed to death on the ground, then they themselves were subjected to brutal violence at the hands of the devils. Young girls who were caught were often stripped naked by two or three devils... even 70-year-old elderly women and 5-year-old little girls, these devils would not spare anyone!

  Men's mournful cries, children's wails and women's shrieks of despair filled the air. The villagers' helpless shouts mingled with the excited yells of the Japanese devils like beasts.

  After nearly an hour of massacre, more than 180 people in the village were killed by the devils, except for a little girl who was taken away by the devils.
