Saved an idiot

The first section saved an idiot

In the islands of the South China Sea, pirates have always been lurking. In this area of about 100 square miles, there will be no merchant ships or fishing boats passing through, because here is a group of notorious pirates in Southeast Asia, even across the entire Western Pacific and Eastern Indian Ocean - Black Shark Gang!

Neighboring countries (actually colonies and overseas vassals of Western powers) had kindly sent troops to help the Qing Empire, which was powerless to properly manage its vast territory, to eradicate this gang of bandits, but none of them achieved decisive success. Often, when the soldiers arrived, the bandits would flee, and when the soldiers left, the bandits would return. Two years ago, the Kingdom of Spain even sent a new armored gunboat and several hundred armed-to-the-teeth soldiers to come and quell the uprising, but they ended up retreating in defeat, losing dozens of soldiers' lives and several new-style large cannons! Recently, the Philippines changed hands, with Americans from the east side of the Pacific replacing the Spanish from the west side of the Atlantic. Given the complicated handover procedures and troublesome internal affairs, the clever Americans did not do that kind of foolish thing again. The French on the Indochinese peninsula next door also wisely notified their warships and merchant ships: never go to that haunted place, there's a devil's island! People who go there (even just passing through) will be infected with the plague by the devils...

The pirates' happy life came in 1901!

The sun in the sky never gave any face to the brothers, and it was scorching hot on their heads, treating the few poor people on the boat as a barbecue feast. Even the usually diligent sea breeze had run away to who-knows-where for a stroll. Therefore, the task of "patrolling the wind" in the afternoon of June at sea was a typical hard job, and it was an important mission undertaken by those brothers who were least favored by the big boss in the "strictly disciplined" Black Shark Gang. Mao San happened to be the oldest and most experienced person in this group, so he was honored to be appointed as the "General Patrol".

At this time, Mao San was enduring the scorching sun on his head and severe discomfort in his heart. He shaded his eyes with his hand and gazed at a small coral reef not far ahead. Behind him were Ma Hou and Jin Lao Xiao, the owners of a homemade small cannon. Further behind them were Zhou Laifu, the sailor in charge of the "General Patrol Wind" ship's power, and his assistant (and apprentice) Zhang Xiaowu, Huang Mazi. At the stern was the helmsman and captain Zeng Erlou.

The "General Patrol Wind" warship was a single-masted wooden sailboat about 14 meters long, equipped with a homemade cannon of unknown caliber, two large swivel guns, and several knives, axes, and other objects.

Generally speaking, everyone on the ship is quite convinced of Mao San's strength. Because in the entire Devil Island, with nearly 400 brothers, only Mao San dares to compete with Old Master Cai Daya at arm-wrestling on the wine table, and every time he will press down Old Master's wrist tightly, while saying "Are you convinced, kid?" At this moment, Kong Er Gongzi (the military advisor) would walk over, hold up a bowl of wine and hand it to the winner, saying congratulatory words: "Mao San is truly our Black Shark Gang's number one strongman, come on, drink up this bowl of wine!"

Mao San didn't realize the game was over until now, and only then did he let go of his embarrassment to reveal a slightly red face.

The trouble is that on the island, there really isn't any more economical or practical form of entertainment than arm wrestling, so when everyone gets together to drink, Mao San always ends up being the last winner. In one go, he can win at least ten bowls of mixed grain wine...

"Hair, Hair San Ge, oh, San Ye! Look, there's something on the beach!" Ma Hou was a born far-sighted person, his eyes were sharp when looking at distant places, but for nearby places, he could only collect information through other senses. For example, just now as soon as he opened his mouth, he heard the faint sound of Hair San exhaling from his nostrils.

"There's really something, let's go take a look!" Mao San also saw that on the white sandy beach, there was a black shadow that wasn't moving. Maybe there would be some unexpected surprise, but it was uncertain. He excitedly opened the buttons of his short-sleeved shirt, revealing the well-developed muscles and dark red skin on his chest. The round face's muscles were also slightly trembling, and the eyes, narrowed by the sunlight, shot out a wandering light...

"Third Master, it's a person, looks like he has fainted!" Ma Hou used his innate advantages to curry favor with this not-so-powerful superior of his, provoking the extremely displeased expressions of several brothers behind him.

"Take in the sail and row over!" Mao San had been mixed up on the sea for several decades, and he was still relatively pure in "business".

The crowd jumped off the boat in a flurry, trampling through the shallow water and scorching sand to gather beside the dark figure. This dark figure was indeed just as Ma Hou reported - a person. However, this person's strange attire made everyone stare in shock. They had never seen a man dressed in such gaudy colors, with a "green hat" on his head! Moreover, this man also had visible weapons on him.

"It's a fire spear!" Jin Lao'er picked up that strange and short iron thing (even shorter than his own big crowbar!), and shouted strangely.

"What a novelty! Where's the flint and frizzen on this firelock? This must be one of those newfangled foreign gadgets!" Zhang Xiaowu was a newly joined brother, who used to work as a laborer at Jinlan Bay dock and had seen French firearms before.

"You dare? You have the guts to make a sound!" Huang Mazi was not impressed with this junior fellow apprentice, who was two years younger than himself. Who let this guy from Annan be more favored by Zhou Laifu than himself?!

"Right! Let's go!" The horse monkey who had tied up the rope also joined in the excitement.

Zhang Xiaowu snatched the new-style weapon from Jin Laoye's hand, examined it briefly, and roughly determined where the "mechanism" was. He felt delighted in his heart: "This yellow-skinned big country bumpkin only knows how to lie low on the island of Qiongzhou, what does he know? Today I'll let him open his eyes wide!"

The trigger was found, the gun butt was also pressed against his right shoulder, and his left hand was correctly placed on the curved iron bracket of the fore-end. Even one eye was closed, and his gaze really passed through the sight and aimed at some unknown target in the distance, perhaps an oxygen molecule (can't say that, pirates don't understand!). Zhang Xiaowu tried hard to pull the trigger, but it wouldn't budge. He pulled again, still nothing!

Zhang Xiaowu's forehead was sweating N times more than usual...

"How come it's not working? Little Wu, aren't you capable?" Huang Ma Zi was initially worried that his junior brother Zhang Xiao Wu would really get into a fight, but now looking at the situation, he couldn't help but go forward and stir up some trouble to cool down his adorable junior brother. An elder brother should care for and protect his younger brother, right? This was a phrase often said by Zhou Lai Fu, who was clearly biased towards Zhang Xiao Wu.

Zhang Xiaowu finally gave up, dejectedly putting down the "new-style weapon", cursing: "Damn it, it's just a broken gun, the trigger is dead, can't even fire!" After saying that, he casually threw away the broken gun.

Huang Ma Zi wouldn't let Zhang Xiao Wu continue to eat the flatbread, so he hurriedly ran over and picked up the broken gun again. In fact, he also knew that this was indeed a new-style broken gun, but on the surface, he still had to pretend to be tough with the despicable Zhang Xiao Wu. He had to pick it back up and study it (or rather, ponder it, as he didn't know what research meant). Who knows, maybe he could figure out its secrets, and then Zhang Xiao Wu would be in big trouble! Now neither of them could get a rise out of the other, so there was no point in arguing.

"What's the point of being poor? Take a look and see if you can wake him up, and also, move him to a cooler place first, don't let him get heatstroke! Maybe he's a spy sent by some faction." Ma San looked like he wasn't having any fun anymore, so while giving orders, he walked under a big rock to hide. This ghostly sun is really hateful!

Everyone dragged the unconscious stranger to the bottom of the rock, carefully examining him. The main task was to turn out everything on the stranger's body, such as a black flat iron box, four curved iron cartridges like broken guns, and yellow bullets shining brightly at the mouth of the cartridge. It turned out that this stranger used these iron cartridges to load bullets!

Jin Lao saw a strange person with a watch on his wrist, shining brightly and looking good. Taking advantage of no one's attention, he quickly snatched it off and tried to put it in his pocket, but unfortunately, the short jacket didn't have any pockets. After fumbling for a few moments, he had no choice but to hold it up with both hands under Mao San's gaze.

"Third Master, there was sand on top, I've wiped it clean, take a look."

"Damn it, I saw that coming! Wake him up, I've got questions to ask." Mao San didn't give him a good face, this guy was just asking for a beating. But he also seemed quite sensible and probably wouldn't go back and mention this thing again. The pirate had some experience too, at least he had seen pocket watches and Western clocks before. As for wearing such a Western gadget on his wrist, that was absolutely a great thing!

"Slap, slap", Jin Lao weng tried a few times to wake up the strange man who was in a daze, but after failing, he took out his anger at having his beautiful Western toy snatched away and slapped the stranger's face twice with great force.

No need to say, this method is still very effective! In a little while, the strange man moved, opened his cracked lips and made a sound that all pirates could understand - water!

Under Mao's triangular eyes, poor Jin Laoye took on the "heavy burden" of pouring water.

After a few mouthfuls of water, the strange man came to and opened his eyes. He was startled when he saw the 7 obviously unsavory characters around him and instinctively jumped up with extremely quick movements! Mao San didn't give him any chance to get wild, kicking him out with one foot, although not using full force (he was worried that this newly awakened guy was too weak and couldn't withstand it), but still vigorous and powerful.

"Bang!" Mao San inexplicably fell to the ground with a thud, and it was quite a loud one! The people next to him didn't see clearly how he fell, they just felt that the weirdo in the floral shirt made some movement.

The Flower-Clothed Fiend didn't stop, and with just a few moves, he had taken care of the six people who were stunned, taking back what belonged to him before walking away. However, after walking a few steps, he stopped again.

Where is this? It's obviously an island! What should we do?

The strange man lifted his wrist, but found that the watch on his wrist was gone. He walked back and searched among the crowd who were still panting and unable to move (actually they didn't dare to move, fearing another big fall). Finally, he found the watch in Mao San's pocket.

The strange man looked at his watch, let out a long sigh and said something that everyone could understand: "Where are we? Why isn't the compass working?", but this sentence was just Chinese to the pirates, as for what a compass is, no one had any idea!

Mao San and the others had caught their breath, exchanging a glance with each other. They saw fear in each other's eyes, as well as a warning not to make any sudden moves. The opponent's strength was too overwhelming, and everyone didn't know how they were lifted up high and slammed heavily onto the sand! All they felt was that their backs or waists, or even their buttocks and thighs, had been "touched" by the opponent's hands like a pair of pliers, and it still hurt a bit now.

Mao San was a bit more courageous, after all, he was the leader. The first sentence should be said by him, this is the rule. He asked in a soft voice to the strange man who still didn't know what to think: "Sir (oh, he still knew how to address someone as sir, showing that his manners were not bad), may I ask your surname and given name, what brings you here?" Interrogation wouldn't work, so he had no choice but to politely ask questions.

"Who am I?!! Who am I???" The strange man said woodenly, startling everyone, and then they suddenly understood that this formidable guy was an idiot!

"Who am I? Who am I? Who am I? Who am I? Who am I?" The strange man started pulling his own hair, and the round green hat on his head was also thrown to one side. The pirates looked at the strange man's ferocious and painful expression, and the big stone in their hearts finally fell down. It seems that this strange man is really an idiot, and he doesn't even know who he is.

The weirdo was walking back and forth on the beach, turning in circles, muttering something to himself, occasionally pounding his own head with his fists, and sometimes twisting his neck violently, making his head swing wildly from side to side. The extent of that swinging motion even made the kind-hearted pirate worry: don't snap your neck with a "crack"!

The weirdo finally got tired of walking, got tired of smashing things, and got dizzy from swaying around! He walked towards the crowd.

  "What place is this?"

"The South China Sea, the Devil's Island Small Ring Reef, is our Black Shark Gang's territory." Mao San introduced with a few proud words, but he immediately remembered the taste of being thrown and quickly changed his tone "Sir, would you like to visit our headquarters as a guest? Our boss will definitely welcome you warmly."

The strange man thought for a moment, the vast South China Sea, he could only temporarily rely on this group of pirates.

"Alright, take me there, what's your honorable surname?"

The fool is not a complete fool. He has completely rational thinking, it's just that there may be one or more neurons in his brain that have crossed the line, and after two hours of continuous questioning by the crowd, he still can't say "where I come from, where I'm going", let alone his own name!

But the fool, apart from these and occasionally falling into painful contemplation, has a nearly instinctual reaction that makes the 7 pirates tremble with fear! No one can move anything on his body, nor can they borrow anything with even a hint of bad intentions. It's as if those objects were his life! In fact, the only thing the pirates had their eyes on was the supposedly not-too-bright watch. As for other things like: flat square boxes, new-style broken guns, green flower clothes and green hats, and hidden handguns and daggers in long boots... The pirates' slightest thoughts about these things were brutally dispelled by the fool.

"Hmph! Once we return to the main camp, these things will still be Old Cai's!" Mao San and his brothers comforted themselves by thinking this way.

"Old Three, we need to give this fool a name, or else when the boss asks, it'll be troublesome if he can't even fart out a single word! You know the boss's temper..." Zeng Er Liu spoke up from the back of the boat, looking like they'd arrive at Devil's Island in about an hour or so, and they had to think of a way to deal with this.

"Third Master, this kid doesn't look bad, but he's a bit foolish and has too much killing intent. Why don't we call him Mao Si instead, to show gratitude for Third Master rescuing him from the isolated island?" Ma Hou took the opportunity to flatter.

It's okay, this time it seems to be quite effective. Mao San glanced at Ma Hou with a slanted eye and smiled contentedly: "Ma Hou is too much of a loss! But calling Mao Si is also good, haha!"

Everyone suddenly understood, "Mao Si" isn't that the meaning of toilet?! Instantly, they burst into laughter, and the resentment from being inexplicably slammed just now was also greatly relieved. Jin Lao patted the shoulder of the silly guy staring blankly at the mud cannon on the ship's side, laughing and saying: "Brother, so your name is Mao Si, remember it, don't forget again!"

Fool, now should be called Mao Siyi listen, eyes suddenly lit up, immediately turned around and grabbed Jin Lao's shoulder to ask: "Mao Si? How did you know I was called Mao Si? Where is my home?! Speak quickly!"

Mao Si's face was beet red, his eyes bulging as if they were about to pop out. His originally somewhat decent-looking face was now twisted beyond recognition, but his eyes still shone with a pleading light - otherwise, he would have scared Old Jin half to death! But Old Jin wasn't having an easy time either. His two shoulders were clamped tightly in hands like iron pincers, and it hurt! He could even hear the pitiful cracking of his own bones, as if they were about to disintegrate completely...

"Brother, brother, don't be in a hurry, let me go first, it hurts!" Jin Lao Xiao couldn't bear it anymore and directly shouted out his most sincere feeling at the moment.

Mao San came over to mediate, and he was also afraid of this powerful fool in his heart. He feared that if he provoked the fool, he would suffer again. He said kindly: "Brother, let go of Jin Lao first, and wait for him to tell you slowly."

The silly Mao Si finally came to his senses, and surprisingly showed a embarrassed smile, let go of Jin Lao Xiao, sat on the base of the mud cannon, quietly watching Jin Lao Xiao who was grinning from ear to ear, waiting for him to solve the biggest problem for himself.

Jin Lao's intestines were all green with regret at this time, what a damn stupid mouth he had...
