Chapter 34 Graduation (Three)

  Chapter Thirty-Four: Graduation (Three)

  ument.write(

I swallowed my saliva, gently pushed Lisa off me and stood up, awkwardly coughing twice. After taking a sip of beer, I put down the bottle with some embarrassment and said to both of them: "Uh, I still have something to do, you guys... uh, go ahead and play, I'm leaving!" I turned around and walked quickly towards the door. Lisa and Bruce's voices came from behind me: "Hey, Xu, come back! We were just joking with you, why did you leave? Come back quick, we'll introduce you to the girl!"

No way! Go back? I'd rather die than go back! I'm not going back at all! I waved my hand and quickened my pace, leaving this "troublesome place" behind!

Back in the dormitory, Kim Ji-hoon still hadn't returned. I washed up a bit and then fell onto the bed, fast asleep.

The next day, I woke up early and couldn't sleep anymore. The tense training that had been going on for days had already become a habit. I got out of bed, washed my face, put on my gear, and ran to the playground. After a 10km cross-country run, I hastily ate breakfast and went to practice the subjects I was interested in. A day's time passed unknowingly in training. It was just that without Kim Jee-joon's company and the instructor's scolding, it felt a bit lonely. In the evening, I took a cold shower, and having nothing else to do, I went to that club again.

A few bottles of beer later, Lisa was discovered. After exchanging greetings for less than a few minutes, she came over with a group of female soldiers, among whom there were indeed several beauties. What a wonderful thing it is to have beautiful women by your side! However, when I looked up and saw the sparkling eyes of the female soldiers, like they had spotted prey, I couldn't help but be startled, and my back felt slightly chilly. Lisa was really "enthusiastic" and "kind-hearted" to bring so many girls over, what...what the hell is she trying to do?!

But after all these years of traditional education, I really can't muster up any interest in girls who only care about sex. And with what happened with Kim Ji-hoon weighing on my mind, I forced myself to put up with them for half a day, but I just couldn't take their predatory gazes and provocative words and actions anymore. I made an excuse that I had something urgent to attend to and quickly left the club. I could still faintly hear their sighs of disappointment as I left, giving me a feeling of having narrowly escaped from a tiger's jaws...

As I walked out of the club, a blast of cold air hit me and I realized that I was drenched in sweat from head to toe.

Until the next day when I handed over all the equipment and there was still an hour before boarding, Kim Jee-joon pushed open the door and walked in.

I jumped out of bed in a hurry, Kim Ji-hoon smiled at me, I smiled and roughly guessed what was going on, ran over to hug him, then punched him hard.

Kim Ji-hoon gritted his teeth and let out a loud cry, throwing another punch. I burst out laughing, feeling exhilarated, grabbed his collar and threw him onto the bed with an over-the-shoulder throw. Kim Ji-hoon shouted loudly, cursing: "You bastard, do you treat your friends like this?"

I laughed and said: "What's wrong, are you okay now?"

Kim Ji-joon got up from bed, sat cross-legged on the edge of the bed, and pulled out a soldier's badge from his collar: "No. 17, I can now be your comrade!"

The answer in his heart was confirmed, and it was the result he had been hoping for all along. His heart suddenly felt at ease, and a fierce tiger pounced on Kim Ji-hoon's bed, but the latter cleverly dodged out of the way.

The result of receiving inhuman military training is that people inexplicably become very violent, the wildness inside the body is completely dug out, and the best way to vent it out is with a flurry of punches and kicks. After making a ruckus for a while, both of us were panting and lying on the ground, our faces somewhat purple.

"Ji-jun, tell me quickly, how did the instructor's office educate you to have such an obvious effect?" My mood is great, and I'm curiously poking at Ji-jun beside me.

"I've heard some things that I'll never forget, seen some things that I'll never forget, and experienced some things that I'll never forget," said Kim Ji-joon with a bitter smile.

I saw that he didn't want to talk, so I didn't force it. Suddenly remembering that the plane was about to take off, I quickly got up from the ground and kicked Eun Gi-jun who was lying on the ground: "Damn, get up quickly, the plane is going to take off in an hour, you haven't packed your things yet!"

Kim Ji-joon burst out laughing and got up from the ground.

Helped him gather his meager luggage, handed over the equipment, and rushed to the airport together with their luggage.

Today we are leaving this place, simple luggage, the soldier's badge on our chest, passing through the training ground that carries our sweat and unforgettable memories. We have become a qualified soldier.

Outside the training base, a black helicopter had already started its engine. Instructor Bruce, Lisa and several others were waiting in front of the aircraft, and even General Bigbeard was standing there with his guards. After bidding farewell to the others, Ji Hoon and I boarded the helicopter.

At the moment the helicopter took off, I suddenly remembered something, patted the driver, and signaled him to wait. Then jumped out of the helicopter, ran in front of the instructor, saluted, and smiled at the instructor: "Hey, instructor, since I came here, I've never seen you smile! Can you give us a smile?"

Everyone was stunned, their faces twisted into awkward smiles, as if they wanted to laugh but were too embarrassed. I felt even more uncomfortable just watching them. The instructor's cold face turned even colder, and he bellowed: "Number 17, 500 push-ups!"

  "Yes, sir!"

Almost as if on cue, I immediately dropped to the ground and started doing push-ups. The crowd couldn't hold it in anymore and burst into thunderous laughter. Bruce pointed at me, laughing hysterically, shouting "You asked for it! Haha, I'm dying of laughter!"

I have already graduated from this base, theoretically speaking, the instructor has become a past tense, leaving only emotional existence, and it is still a hateful emotion that gnashes teeth, but in my opinion, the instructor is still my instructor.

For the past six months, I and Kim Ji-hoon have been tortured to death by him in inhuman military training, but we have been moving step by step towards his ideal of a qualified soldier. For six months, our feelings for him were only fear and hatred, and the nickname we gave him behind his back was one after another, just because there wasn't one that suited our hatred for him! However, we knew that he was training us to death, simply because he wanted us to become qualified soldiers, so that we could save our lives on the battlefield in the future! What he taught us was not only military knowledge and skills, but also the skill of saving our lives. It is precisely because of this point that we can persevere under such inhuman training that can almost be called abuse. The instructor will always be our instructor, no matter what time!

The order had been given, and I had no choice but to grit my teeth and continue. Until I had done over 100 of them, the big mustache colonel came over to plead for mercy, and the instructor finally waved his hand magnanimously and set us free! For the first time, I felt a strong affection for the big mustache colonel.

I sprang up from the ground and ran onto the helicopter without looking back, knocking on the fuselage to urge the pilot to take off quickly.

In the midst of their military salute, the helicopter slowly rose into the air and flew away from the base with its head turned. What nobody noticed was that as the instructor lowered his hand, a hint of a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, only to immediately return to his usual cold expression. He saluted a few people beside him, then turned around and walked away.

Two days later, Kim Ji-joon and I stepped off the Boeing plane and walked out of Los Angeles International Airport with our luggage. It was now winter in LA, and both of us were wearing down jackets that we had bought when our flight was delayed - they were really cheap at the street stalls! After living in Africa for half a year, suddenly arriving in wintry LA was quite an adjustment.

I exchanged a glance with Kim Ji-joon and we both shrank our necks, quickening our pace.
