Lü Bu patrols the border and encounters an unjust case

Lü Bu patrolled the borders of the Three Kingdoms for thirty-eight years and encountered many injustices along the way.

Because Lü Bu messed up the timeline, history has changed a bit. Some events are off by a few years, and some people lived a few more or fewer years than they should have. Hehehe...

Lü Bu was formally appointed as the Governor of Beidi by the imperial court, so he worked hard to train his soldiers and govern the people. He wanted to open up all the wasteland in the Hexi Corridor.

In the sixth year of Guang Xu, Lü Bu subdued Yang Feng and Han Xian, then settled in Shuofang, ordering Gao Shun to lead the Imperial Guard cavalry back to Beidi. He personally led Cheng Lian and thirty Imperial Guardsmen from north to south to inspect military affairs and government matters in various parts of Shuofang and Beidi.

During this time, due to not bringing the seal of Taishou, there were many inconveniences. When Lü Bu returned to Ma Ling, he took the seal and went south to inspect.

At the end of April, Lü Bu patrolled to the banks of the Wei River in Niyang County and heard the sound of killing from a distance. After his accident, Lü Bu's ears and eyes became very sharp. The guards hadn't heard anything yet, but Lü Bu knew it first. He thought: Who is so bold, dare to fight on my turf? Listening to the sound, there seemed to be many people. Thinking of this, Lü Bu's feet had already lightly tapped the horse's belly and rushed towards the killing sound. The thirty guards didn't know what happened and hurriedly followed closely.

Lü Bu rushed over a hill and saw that not far away, a group of people were killing each other with swords. There were already many corpses on the ground. On one side were more than ten masked men in black clothes, and on the other side was a mix of people, including some bailiffs surrounding several prisoners. There were also dozens of house slaves who were being commanded by a man on horseback to fight against the black-clothed men. Several horse-drawn carriages were parked nearby.

Lü Bu saw that the group of family servants, although numerous, were far from being a match for the black-clad men. The black-clad men were obviously assassins, and each one was an expert. One against several, they would occasionally knock down a servant or constable to the ground. The servants and constables were surrounded by the black-clad masked assassins in the middle.

Lü Bu's anger flared up as soon as he saw them, and with a loud shout, "Who is so bold, daring to run wild on my territory?" As his voice fell, Lü Bu's Heaven-Shaking Halberd had already been swung out, and with one swing, it cut down a black-clad man who was approaching from the front. The black-clad man did not notice the person behind him and was cut in two by Lü Bu. Lü Bu's halberd did not stop, switching between cutting and thrusting, and thrusting towards another person. That person was just turning his head to look back, seeing Lü Bu's fierce momentum, with a terrified look in his eyes, wanting to dodge, but it was too late, and he was stabbed in the throat by Lü Bu's halberd. Lü Bu's Heaven-Shaking Halberd was so powerful that it cut off the man's head entirely. Lü Bu rode his horse without stopping, killing two people in the blink of an eye.

Lü Bu's horse did not stop, his hand did not pause, and with a swift swing of his spear, he struck down the third man. The third black-clad man hastily abandoned the family servant beside him and raised the sword in his hand to block Lü Bu's spear. But Lü Bu was too powerful, and riding his horse at full speed, his momentum was astonishing. The black-clad man's two hands could not withstand Lü Bu's spear, and with a loud "clang", the man's sword was knocked aside by Lü Bu, and his chest was also slashed open by Lü Bu's spear, his heart and lungs exposed, and he fell to the ground dead.

Lü Bu's bodyguards followed closely behind him, and Lü Bu killed three people with a single charge of his horse. The bodyguards caught up and joined forces with the black-clad men to attack Lü Bu's guards. Seeing that the newcomers were not friendly, the black-clad men abandoned their posts and came to kill Lü Bu's guards. Lü Bu's guards had long been accustomed to killing alongside him, having trampled over Xianbei camps, charged through Xiongnu arrays, and plundered Man slave tribes. They were also more numerous and had the advantage of horses, so they quickly gained the upper hand. The assassins were no match for them and intended to retreat, but Lü Bu's guards had brought many mounted crossbowmen, who unleashed a barrage of arrows that shot down many people.

Lü Bu charged forward, then reined in his horse to watch. Just as he was feeling proud of how fierce his bodyguards were, he heard a blood-curdling scream. Lü Bu saw that one of his bodyguards had been stabbed off his horse by an assassin in black clothes.

At this time, the assassins were almost all killed, leaving only one person. That person was very skilled, wielding an unremarkable black sword in his hand, dodging the slashing of three or four riders, and finding an opportunity to stab down one of Lü Bu's guards. Lü Bu looked over and became enraged, shouting loudly: "Get out of my way!"

The guards scattered and avoided the attack. Lü Bu charged forward on horseback, his spear thrusting towards the assassin. The assassin saw Lü Bu's spear coming and didn't dare to be careless. He quickly focused his energy, with his right hand tightly gripping the hilt of his sword, which was held horizontally in front of his chest, and his left palm pressed against the middle section of the blade, using his sword to block Lü Bu's attack.

All of a sudden, there was a loud "thud" sound. The assassin did not expect Lü Bu's strength to be so great. A surge of blood and energy rushed from his arms straight to his chest. The assassin felt something was wrong, immediately adjusted his breath, and forcibly suppressed the blood and energy, finally forcing back the blood and energy that was about to spurt out of his mouth.

Lü Bu struck the assassin's sword with one blow, galloped past, and rushed out for several dozen feet before reining in his horse to look back. His eyebrows were slightly furrowed, but his face showed admiration. He thought to himself: This one strike of mine has been met by countless warriors who have lost their lives trying to block it with their weapons. But this time, that black sword merely bent slightly, and the sound it made was extraordinary. He rode back to the assassin and exclaimed in surprise and praise, "What a fine sword! Whose handiwork is this?"

The assassin saw Lü Bu's face with a praising expression, originally pleased, thinking that Lü Bu was praising himself. Unexpectedly, Lü Bu didn't pay attention to him, but instead praised the sword in his hand, and he felt slightly annoyed but didn't respond.

Lü Bu saw that the assassin didn't respond, and he became slightly angry. He raised his chin slightly, curled up the corner of his mouth, and said coldly: "If you can withstand my three moves, I will spare your life." After finishing speaking, he swung the Hulao Jue in his hand again, slashing towards the assassin once more. The same move, the same offensive.

The assassin knew Lü Bu was formidable with just one move and didn't dare to confront him head-on. Seeing Lü Bu's ghost halberd chopping down, he slightly tilted his body backwards, and with a black sword in hand, he made a swift stroke, sticking close to the halberd as he swept it aside. Lü Bu's ghost halberd chopped from right to left, and the assassin dodged the attack by leaning back, but his sword borrowed force to deflect Lü Bu's halberd. Seeing an opening in Lü Bu's defense, he attempted to stab Lü Bu's calf. Unexpectedly, Lü Bu's moves changed rapidly, leaving the assassin greatly astonished.

Lü Bu saw that the same second move couldn't cut down the assassin, but instead was deflected by the assassin's sword, and he knew the assassin was formidable. He secretly sneered in his heart. The Guī Jǐ originally relied on Lü Bu's strength to quickly slash at the assassin, but then it was again deflected by the assassin, increasing its speed even more. Lü Bu didn't change moves, only using the Guī Jǐ's momentum, and with a whirl of both hands, he spun the Guī Jǐ around his body in one circle before once again slashing at the assassin as before. This time, however, the Guī Jǐ's power was not ordinary, twice borrowing force to become swift as lightning.

The assassin thought that by borrowing strength to open the ghostly spear, he would have an opportunity to wound Lü Bu. However, Lü Bu had been through many battles and was experienced in combat, so he didn't pay attention to the assassin's sudden attack with one sword. Instead, he also borrowed strength and struck again. The speed of the ghostly spear borrowing strength twice was much faster than the assassin's single strike. The assassin saw that Lü Bu's ghostly spear came again as before. If he insisted on attacking Lü Bu, at most he could only wound Lü Bu's calf, but it was unknown whether he could even hit him. If Lü Bu lifted his leg, this sword would at most only be able to stab the horse under Lü Bu. But he would definitely die under the ghostly spear. So, without thinking, he turned from offense to defense and continued to block Lü Bu's attack as before.

Lü Bu's moves were the same, but his offense was already different. The momentum had already pressed down like Mount Tai, sweeping towards the assassin. Another loud "dang" sound was heard. The assassin's treasured sword in his hand was knocked open by Lü Bu's spear and flew out several meters away. The ghostly spear then drew a three-inch long gash on the assassin's left arm shoulder, immediately causing blood to flow like a fountain.

The assassin managed to save his life with the treasured sword, but his left shoulder was cut open by Lü Bu, leaving a large wound. Not only that, Lü Bu's next move made the assassin remember it for the rest of his life.

Only to see Lü Bu swing the ghost halberd and knock open the assassin's treasured sword, the halberd tip also cutting the assassin's left shoulder. Just as the ghost halberd was about to reach the assassin's heart, Lü Bu's palms suddenly flipped over strangely, and the halberd borrowed its momentum to spin rapidly in Lü Bu's palm. The halberd blade spun rapidly on the assassin's chest, instantly creating a small whirlpool. The assassin only felt that the whirlpool was like a suction cup, sucking his own chest towards the halberd blade. Just as the assassin's chest was about to collide with the halberd tip, Lü Bu's hands suddenly gripped the halberd handle tightly, and the ghost halberd also stopped moving, causing the assassin to break out in a cold sweat.

Lü Bu slowly withdrew his Ghost Halberd and said calmly, "You are the first person to be killed by me three times and still come back to life. As I said before, if you can withstand three moves, I will spare your life. I, Lü Bu, never go back on my word. Scram!"
