Chapter 3 Piano Sound

  I heard there's a ghost here

Everyone left, and the self-study room for the third year class was left with only Nuo Yan herself. She was still there, intently looking at the English textbook in her hand, repeatedly reviewing the words on it, hoping to memorize them thoroughly.

Even if she didn't want to listen to Hang Zhan's half-told ghost story just now, the ghost story still quietly crept into her ears like the wind. She couldn't forget it even if she wanted to, but she didn't take it too seriously because she knew that Hang Zhan always liked to joke around and nine out of ten things he said weren't true, so there was no need to take him seriously.

"...Suddenly, the sound of a piano kept coming to my ears. So late, who would still be playing the piano? Who could it be? Where did this sound come from? Was it the abandoned piano room on the third floor?"

She was very curious and couldn't help but want to go see what it was all about. Although Nuo Yan majored in English and didn't have any piano talent, she still thought the sound of the piano was beautiful, like heavenly music that made people feel nostalgic.

The third floor has always been full of mystery for the people here. It is said that the third floor is just an abandoned piano room, but no one knows why it was abandoned. No one has ever really talked about it, only heard that the floor is unstable and not allowed to go up, otherwise accidents will happen and the consequences will be borne by oneself.

No one wants to gamble with their own life, so no one has ever been to the third floor. The passage leading to the third floor is also different from other floors, and there is only one passage here, nothing else.

Perhaps it was the moving melody, or perhaps it was her curiosity, but Nuo Yan couldn't help but walk up to the third floor, where the abandoned piano room was located. The self-study room was on the second floor, not very far away.

Gently holding onto the handrail of the stairs, I stepped up one by one to the third floor on the double staircase, it seemed that this place had been abandoned for a long time and few people came here.

Arriving at the resting platform of the double-run staircase, I surprisingly saw a big seal on the entrance to the third floor corridor, with strange symbols drawn around it. These ghostly symbols were only seen in TV shows and seemed to be used for exorcising evil spirits.

But she didn't think too much, and somehow there seemed to be a mysterious force drawing her in, making her go.

As they walked closer and closer, they soon arrived at the third floor. The sound of the guqin grew louder and more melodious, entrancing all who heard it.

Gently pushing open the door of the piano room, I saw a boy sitting in front of the piano wearing a white shirt and a blue tie.

He had a pair of slender fingers and a pair of beautiful peach blossom eyes, only to see his fingers lightly playing on the keyboard, playing out a wonderful melody.

"Excuse me, was that you playing the piano just now?" Nuoyan couldn't help but walk forward and ask in a low voice.

When she said this sentence, she just realized that the question was really stupid. Here, except for him, there is no one else. His fingers were pressed on the keyboard. If not him, who would it be?

"How did you end up here?" The young man couldn't help but pause for a moment, he stood up, his eyes full of confusion, and his tone was not friendly.

"I came because I heard the piano sound, you play the piano very well." Nuoyan slightly frowned and said: "It's so late, why are you still here playing the piano? Aren't you going back? It's almost twelve o'clock."

"Twelve o'clock?" As soon as he heard these three words, the young man's face suddenly became stiff. He hastily pushed away Nuoyan's hand and said, "It's very late, you should leave quickly and don't stay here any longer!"

"Why? Aren't you leaving yet?" Nuoyan slightly furrowed her brow, somewhat perplexed. "Your piano playing sounds great, can't you...".

Before Yu Yan finished speaking, the young man coldly interrupted: "Don't you understand what I'm saying? Leave quickly, get out of here right now!"

"What's wrong with you? Why do you keep asking me to leave?" Nuoyan felt even more puzzled.

"No reason, just go..." The young man's low voice suddenly rang out in a commanding tone.

"Fine, I'll leave," Nuo Yan pouted and walked out of the piano room, starting to grumble to herself, "What's going on? His piano playing was clearly disturbing me, yet he tells me to leave?"

"Out you go, anyway it's already very late now," Nuoran quickly walked down the stairs. She took a glance at her watch and saw that it was already 11:30.

She couldn't help but yawn, "It's already so late, I haven't even gone back yet, I'm so sleepy, it's time to go back and rest."

Just as Nuannuan was walking down the third floor, a strong gust of wind suddenly blew up. After the wind passed, the seal characters that were stuck on the corridor also fell off strangely from above, blowing farther and farther away until they disappeared from sight.
