Chapter Six: The Brother is Injured

  Dongzi left. Xiaofei had two cups and couldn't drink anymore. He put down the quilt, sat against it, and Heizi asked: "Xiaofei, what's wrong?"

  "It's nothing, I heard this guy is very annoying and not easy to get along with." Zhuo Xiaofei said worriedly.

  "Hei Zi put down his wine cup and said, 'Don't be afraid, what's done is done. From now on we'll just have to be more careful. Tomorrow, let's find some of the village's familiar little rascals to ask about this guy and see what kind of background he has.'"

  "What's so special about him, just because he's tough? An outsider can't do anything to our brother." Dongzi spoke with a tone full of confidence, as if he was the boss of the village.

  Dongzi said so, but actually he had no idea either. In terms of strength, he was not as good as Heizi. As for the few people in his hands, none of them dared to take action, and they were not even Heizi's opponents. How could he drive him away?

  A few people came to the small shop in the village, where there were two tables. People who bought wine could drink it inside the shop, and this was a place that Dongzi and his friends often came to.

  Dongzi and the others sat down, and the boss served them wine, peanuts, and cured meat. Although Dongzi and the others often owed money for drinks, when they had some, they would proactively come to settle their accounts. They were all from the same village, so the boss didn't dislike them too much.

  Dongzi and the others were drinking and discussing this matter, the owner of the small shop had nothing to do with listening to them speak, when he heard that they wanted to drive away Hei Zi, he interrupted: "This is not easy, just two people, a few brothers beat them up and drove them away."

  Dongzi's heart was not pleasant, and with a loud bang, he heavily placed the wine bottle on the table and said: "It's not that easy, can you beat him? If you can beat him, I'll give you 10,000."

  In the village, Dongzi was the most difficult to provoke. Those who didn't dare provoke Dongzi wouldn't dare provoke him themselves either. The tavern owner fell silent for a few minutes before saying, "You don't dare touch him, let the police deal with him."

  This reminded Dongzi that being a policeman was not lucrative, they liked to catch gamblers the most. Dongzi had been detained several times and also knew a few policemen in the town.

  The next day, Hei Zi and Zhu Xiao Fei had nothing to do, anyway they had money in their hands. The two of them ran a trip to the county town, bought several sets of clothes for themselves, and also bought some gifts for Zhu Xiao Fei's parents, preparing to go back and see the old couple.

  As soon as the two returned to the town, they saw Yin Le anxiously waiting for them. Hei Zi asked: "Le Er, what's wrong?"

  "Hei Ge, my two little brothers were beaten up." Yin Le said while helping Hei Zi carry the bag in his hand.

  "Who hit you?" Hei Zi asked.

  "Alas, it wasn't because of anything, I was drinking at my second sister's place and got drunk, don't know what I said, and ended up fighting with Da Kui and the others, they outnumbered me so I got beaten up."

  Heizi doesn't understand Da Kui, in fact, Yin Le and the others are not even worthy opponents for Da Kui. Da Kui is simple-minded, brave in fighting, but never thinks of the consequences. In the town, big or small hooligans don't easily provoke him, and Da Kui himself rarely causes trouble unless someone bullies him, otherwise he won't take the initiative to provoke others.

  "Is it okay to bully others just because there are many people? Let's go find him." Zhuo Xiao Fei said discontentedly.

  "Luer, you're quite capable of fighting back, how did you still let him bully you?" Heizi asked Yin Luer.

  "Where are your two little brothers?" Hei Zi asked.

  "I'll probably just head back home after packing up, or I can go call them." Yin Le stopped and turned around to say.

  This small restaurant was often visited by Hei Zi during his middle school days, and he was also familiar with Er Jie. Since returning these days, Hei Zi has been busy opening a new business and hasn't come over. When Er Jie saw Hei Zi arrive, she smiled and said: "Hei Zi, you've forgotten about your sister, and you haven't even come to visit since you got back?"

  Heizi apologized while flipping through the menu, "Sorry, Second Sister, I've been too busy these past few days and didn't have time to come over. From now on, I'll come here to eat every day."

  Second sister laughed and said: "Heizi, what do you want to eat?"

  Hei Zi and Zhu Xiao Fei ordered food, but before it arrived, Yin Le came in with two little brothers who had bandages on their heads.

  Hei Zi said with a serious expression: "Tell me about the situation."

  Two people were still drunk and unclear, but Heizi heard from their vague descriptions that they thought they had Heizi backing them up, so they felt invincible and deliberately provoked Da Kui, which is why they got into trouble.

  "Hei Zi listened and sneered, saying: 'Brothers, you still think you're some kind of young punk, always causing trouble and fighting every day. If we want to make it in this world, we have to do it with style. What's the point of causing trouble...'"

  Heizi gave a long speech that stunned several people. After Heizi finished speaking, Yin Le's two younger brothers said: "Brother Hei, we were wrong. We won't cause any more trouble in the future."

  "Hei Zi nodded and said: 'We shouldn't cause trouble, but we can't be bullied either. I'll take care of this matter. You guys finish eating and go home first, and then tend to your wounds.'"

  When they were about to leave after eating, Hei Zi asked Zhu Xiao Fei to give them 500 yuan and told them to go back and take good care of their injuries, not to think too much.

  After dinner, Hei Zi asked Zhu Xiao Fei to take the things and go back first, and let Yin Le take him to find Da Kui. Zhu Xiao Fei refused to leave no matter what, fearing that Hei Zi would be taken advantage of. In the end, Hei Zi had to put the package in Er Jie's small restaurant first, and the three of them went together to find Da Kui.

  Da Gui's family lived on the east side of town, in a flat house, in the last row. Hei Zi and his gang didn't go to find him themselves, but instead found a little rascal from the street and had him go call Da Gui out.

  It was just after work hours in the afternoon, and there were many people on the street. Hei Zi and his two companions crouched by the side of the road, smoking cigarettes while keeping an eye on the exit of a small alleyway.

  Before long, the little rascal followed a young man out. The young man was sturdy and silly-looking with a square head and a flat head, holding an iron shovel in his hand, looking at them three fiercely.

  Hei Zi threw away the half cigarette in his hand and stood up saying: "You're Da Kui?"

  Da Gui held an iron shovel in both hands and stared straight at Hei Zi, saying: "You're the Cheng Hei Zi who beat up Ouyang Qiang?"

  Hei Zi nodded and stopped looking at Da Kui, waving his hand to the young punk who was standing across the street, too afraid to move: "There's nothing for you here, go ahead and leave."

  The little rascal saw that they were about to fight, and as soon as Hei Zi spoke up, he turned around and left. He didn't want to be mistakenly hurt by these two people.
