Chapter 25 Visitation

  Chapter 19 Visitation

Another Monday, this is Tian Nuanyu's 15th day in Jingxue Manor.

The weather is fine, the sky is a bright blue, and the warm sunlight filters through the window into Room 203 on the second floor of Renle Jian Therapy Center. After circling around the four corners of the room, it gently lands on Tian Hecheng's body in his wheelchair by the window.

Tian Hecheng's head leaned lightly against the back of his wheelchair, his eyes open and quietly gazing out at the sky outside the window. The warm sunlight enveloped him in its tender embrace, but his eyes refused to let the warmth in.

The door of the room opened gently, and Tian Hecheng sat still without moving or turning his head.

The footsteps that had shaken his eardrums thousands of times had long since merged with his auditory senses, and when the footsteps sounded, his eyes were like windows that had been closed in darkness for too long and suddenly opened, letting sunlight pour in and stir up the stagnant waves, bringing a warm and humid airflow.

"Dad" Tian Nuoyu softly called out, and the originally quiet room suddenly became lively.

Tian Hecheng slowly turned around in his chair, and Tian Nuanyu saw that Tian Hecheng's expression was as usual, with a smile on his face that made people involuntarily curve the corners of their mouths to respond to her.

Tian Nuoyu squatted in front of Tian Hecheng, her two hands gently hooking up the corners of his mouth that had already risen: "Dad, this is how you show enthusiasm for welcoming guests!"

Tian Hecheng's originally dark complexion had been bleached to a light coffee color after being cooped up in the hospital room for so many years. When he wasn't smiling, his face always seemed to have a thin layer of frost on it, like the chill of late autumn. But when Tian Nuanyu teased him, he cracked a smile, and his whole face suddenly looked like it had been swept by a warm tropical breeze.

Tian Hecheng raised his hand and gently stroked Tian Nuanyu's hair: "Are you tired?"

"Not tired? How can Dad be tired?" Tian Nuanyu said, getting up and quickly tidying up the room. "Dad, you sit for a while, I'll clean up,"

Tian He Cheng sat quietly in his wheelchair, his gaze following Tian Nuan Yu's figure as she moved.

Sweep the floor, wipe the table, heat water, collect trash, and then go into the bathroom to wash Tian Hecheng's changed clothes clean and hang them on the balcony. All of this is what Tian Nanyu does every day when she comes, making this place feel just like home.

This rehabilitation center was opened by an old friend of Tian Hecen, who had a long-standing friendship with him. Eight years ago, when Tian Hecen had an accident and became paralyzed all over his body, the old friend took him to the rehabilitation center. After several years of rehabilitation treatment, Tian Hecen has recovered sensation in his upper body, but now only his legs have no sensation and he is unable to walk.

An old friend had specially reserved a room for Tian Hecheng to live in for many years, and Tian Hecheng spent more than half of the year living here. Apart from going to work, Tian Nuanyu spent all her time taking care of Tian Hecheng, and at home she just slept for a few hours, this place was indeed their second home.

But this room really is like home, and it's not just a simple room.

The room has a bed, wardrobe and a small double sofa, as well as a south-facing independent balcony with excellent lighting.

The room is also equipped with a bathroom, which has a shower and a washing machine. Next to the bathroom is a small kitchen, although not large in size, it has a small refrigerator, stove and cooking utensils are all well-equipped.

Although the rehabilitation center has a cafeteria and nursing staff will deliver meals to each patient's room at regular intervals, Tian Nuoyu felt that the food in the cafeteria was not very appetizing. Every time she came, she would cook more dishes and put them in the refrigerator.

They are already regular customers here, and many people in the center know them. Tian Nuanyu and the nursing staff in the center are also familiar with each other. If Tian Nuanyu is not around, when it's time to eat, the nursing staff will take the initiative to come to Tian Hecheng's room to heat up his meals.

Tian Nuoyu tidied up the room, swept the bathroom and kitchen as well. When she came, she deliberately bought some more dishes near her place and put them in the kitchen. Later, she planned to cook two more dishes.

After finishing all that, Tian Nuoyu pushed Tian Hecheng onto the balcony, moved a small stool to sit in front of him, gently lifted his legs and placed them on her own, slowly massaging them. Over the years, Tian Nuoyu had learned the massage method for relieving muscle tension without any teacher, and every day she came here, she would give Tian Hecheng a massage.

"Yu'er, is your new job tiring?"

Tian Hecheng was a bit worried about the tutoring job Tian Nuanyu had just found. He knew it wasn't easy to work for wealthy families, and he understood his daughter well - Tian Nuanyu always knew how to handle herself. What Tian Hecheng was worried about wasn't that Tian Nuanyu would make mistakes at work, but rather that she would be treated unfairly or bullied.

Tian Nuoyu wants to take on this job, Tian Hexin is very clear about the reason. In these years, it was Tian Nuoyu who supported this family, he has become a useless person who can't do anything.

An old friend living here said not to charge him, but how could he bear the shame? Under his repeated requests, the old friend only collected one-third of the fee from him. Even so, every year's rehabilitation treatment and medication still cost a lot of money. He knew that Tian Nuoyu was thinking of ways to make money, and he felt heartbroken, but could only feel the pain in his heart.

"Not tired, very relaxed, that little girl is quite clever, and her grades were not bad either."

In the morning, Mu Yu Xing had to go to school first, and then the school would arrange for a car to take them to the airport to fly to Singapore. After Tian Nuan Yu drove Mu Yu Xing to school, she drove the car back to Jing Xue Mountain Villa after leaving the school.

Jing Xue Mountain Villa is located in the suburbs, surrounded by independent villas. Each household has its own car to enter and exit, and there are no public buses that can reach it directly. After leaving the villa, you need to walk for about half an hour to get to the bus station. Tian Nuan Yu reluctantly took a taxi, but instead walked quickly for 20 minutes and then took the bus to Kangjian Center.

Mu Yu Xin won't be back until Wednesday, Mu Ao Yun told her last night that she can have the next two days all to herself, she realized, Mu Ao Yun is giving her a break!

She had been at Jingxue Mountain Villa for half a month, but she hadn't had a complete rest day yet. Every time was during Mu Yu Xin's class break, she would go to the Health Center to visit her father, and each time she would only stay for one or two hours before leaving again. Now she finally has a two-day holiday, Tian Nanyu's heart is overjoyed.

She had already made arrangements for her two-day holiday last night.

She hasn't been to the supermarket or shopping mall for a while. With summer approaching, she should go buy some cooling products for her father.

In addition, she also wants to go see Xiao Yu Xing and Hao Nai Nai. After arriving at Jing Xue Mountain Villa, she has not had time to visit them. Counting the days, it has been a month since she last saw them.

A few days ago, they called her to ask if she was okay and asked her to visit them more often. She agreed over the phone that she would go see them in a few days. Now that she has some free time, she decided to go visit them tomorrow.

Thinking of Xiao Yu Xing's innocent face and Hao Nainai's kind smile, Tian Nuanyu's heart felt a warmth rising up, but at the same time, a hint of sourness also emerged.

She told herself that she must go see them tomorrow, as opportunities to see them may become increasingly scarce.
