Chapter 47: Salvation

  Tian Nuanyu ignored the puzzled glances from everyone and walked straight up to the tow truck driver, looking him straight in the eye and said politely: "The car doesn't need towing, but would it be okay if I borrowed the battery from your truck for a bit?"

  "Where did the battery on my car come from?" The driver's eyes flashed, but his expression was somewhat guilty as he glanced lightly at his own car.

  "It's not free for us, we pay," Tian Nuoyu's expression was calm, but her eyes stared at the driver without blinking.

  The driver turned his head back with a guilty conscience, his eyes staring at the blue smoke-emitting car: "Sister, your car must be towed away, and even if I give you my car's battery for free, it's useless".

  Tian Nuoyu no longer paid attention to the driver and turned to walk towards the ambulance.

  "Sister, sister, what are you doing? You think the price is too high, we can negotiate again," the driver said hastily, following closely behind Tian Nuanyu.

  "No need for you to do anything, just borrow the battery from your car," Tian Nuoyu had already walked to the rescue vehicle but didn't stop, instead heading straight to the driver's cabin.

  The driver was thoroughly frightened, he hastily stepped over Tian Nuanyu and rushed to the front of the driving room, using his body to block the door. His face also intentionally sank, but his tone was still gentle: "Sister, I'm just being kind-hearted! Look at how many cars are passing by on this highway, it's so dangerous. Leaving your car here isn't a good idea, is it?"

  The driver said, pointing to the passing vehicles beside them. Their several cars had occupied a lane, and the passing vehicles knew they were stranded when they saw their appearance, and drove past along the lane close to the other side railing.

  "Never mind, today we all have a good fate, I happened to pass by and met you. Sister, how about this? I'll help you tow the car to the 4S shop, the cost won't be too high, just 3,000 yuan, okay?" The driver continued to say.

  "I said, no need to get involved, just lend me the battery from your car for a moment," Tian Nuanyu's tone was calm and steady.

  He said so much, but Tian Nuanyu didn't care at all. The driver was suddenly enraged, his face turned dark and he said in a cold tone: "Sister, if anything on my car is damaged, you will have to compensate for it."

  "We can afford to compensate for 10 cars like yours," said Lan Shengyan with a calm tone before Tian Nuoyu could speak.

  Tian Nuoyu turned her head to look at Lan Shengyan, who was standing beside his car with his arms crossed and a calm expression. When he saw Tian Nuoyu looking at him, he nodded slightly in her direction and gave her a completely trusting gaze.

  Tian Nuoyu was taken aback for a moment, but her heart suddenly warmed up.

  Her heart had been frozen at the bottom of the ice all morning, but now Lan Shengyan's trusting gaze made Tian Nuoyu feel that her own heart was slowly floating up from under the ice.

  "Hmph! You're on your own, don't come crying to me if you have problems!" The driver walked to the side of the road with a huff, leaning against the railing with his arms crossed over his chest, a look of abandonment and anticipation for a good show on his face.

  Tian Nuoyu glanced at the others, Duan Liuyun and Qiu Nianbai were already standing in front of their car, both with their arms crossed over their chest. Duan Liuyun's expression was calm, but his eyes revealed a hint of interest. Qiu Nianbai simply looked at Tian Nuoyu with no expression, then shifted his gaze to the driver.

  Mu Yu Xin and Qiu Nian Wei were standing beside Lan Sheng Yan, both of their faces showing a curious expression. However, Qiu Nian Wei's face also had a hint of disdain, while Mu Yu Xin's face had an added hint of excitement.

  The indifferent attitude of a few people made Tian Nanyu's heart, which had just warmed up, sink back into the ice again.

  Tian Nuoyu lightly bit her lip and turned around to open the door of the rescue vehicle, knowing that she had to solve the problem herself.

  "Dragonfly, do you need our help?" Mu Yu Xin suddenly blinked and asked.

  Tian Nuoyu shook her head slightly: "No need, you guys just move to the side a bit, I'll back up the car," after saying that, she stepped on the pedal under the door and got into the driver's cab, then reached out to close the door again.
