Chapter 15: Joking

  In Mu Yu Xin's coffee cup, there was a layer of brown coffee topped with a layer of milk foam, and on the milk foam was a slice of lemon, but the lemon slice had a small angel pattern with a pair of wings inserted into it.

  "It's too cute, but why is it an angel? Why isn't it a swan?" Mu Yu Xin teased intentionally.

  Tian Nuoyu smiled lightly: "The swan is also good, but if the place where it falls from the sky is not right, it may become something else."

  "Turn into something else? Even if you fall and look ugly, can't you still be a swan?" Mu Yu Xin asked in confusion.

  Mu Ao Yun's mouth corners hooked up a shallow smile, he didn't speak and lowered his head to pick up the coffee cup lightly sipping a mouthful.

  Tian Nuoyu glanced at Mu Ao Yun with a hint of a smile on the corner of his mouth, which although fleeting, still fell into her eyes, causing her to pause slightly.

  "Hurry up and say it, what will happen? Won't you turn back into an ugly duckling again?" Mu Yu Xin asked, urging Tian Nuan Yu who hadn't spoken.

  "It should not turn back into an ugly duckling, but it might become a cooked duck," Tian Nuoyu said with a faint smile.

  "Why did it become a cooked duck? How did it fall from the sky and land on the ground already cooked?" Mu Yu Xing still didn't understand.

  "If it hadn't fallen onto the ground but into a hot spring instead, it might have been cooked," Tian Nuoyu's smile deepened.

  Mu Ao Yun's eyes also showed a hint of a smile.

  Mu Yu Xin was taken aback for a moment, then burst out laughing, but only laughed for a while before suddenly stopping and turning serious, her face stern as she glared at Tian Nuan Yu and shouted: "You're really something, Cicada! You actually dared to scold me!"

  "I didn't mean it, I was just joking," Tian Nuanyu said, and then she couldn't help but sneak a peek at Mu Ao Yun, who was calmly holding his coffee cup and taking another sip.

  "You're just scolding me for being a duck, and a cooked one at that," Mu Yu Xing said with puffed up cheeks.

  Tian Nuoyu's heart skipped a beat, and she secretly cried out in alarm.

  She originally just wanted to make a joke and create some atmosphere, but it seemed to have the opposite effect. She looked embarrassed as she apologized: "Sorry, I didn't mean that at all, I was just trying to make a joke, don't take it seriously!"

  Mu Yu Xin saw Tian Nuan Yu's expression and suddenly burst out laughing: "You're playing along with me, but you still take it seriously! You allow yourself to tease me, but don't allow me to tease you?"

  Tian Nuoyu let out a breath of relief and smiled along with him, feeling at ease.

  "Sit down, Miss Tian," Mu Ao Yun said calmly.

  "Oh, sorry about that, I got carried away with the conversation. Yes, please sit down, don't keep standing," Mu Yu Xin showed rare politeness and enthusiasm towards Tian Nuan Yu.

  "I also cut some fruit, I'll go get it," Tian Nuanyu said as she walked into the kitchen, picked up a plate of fruit and returned to the living room, placing it on the coffee table.

  "Wow, fruit can be arranged like this too! But is this from the human world or heaven?" Mu Yu Xing felt that Tian Nuan Yu would always come up with something fresh and unusual, she tilted her head and playfully looked at Tian Nuan Yu.

  A round ceramic white fruit platter with apples and oranges arranged in a layered and orderly manner to form a large flower pattern.

  "Peony flower? Hmm, it really does look like one!" Mu Yu Xing exclaimed as she gazed at the pattern on the fruit platter.

  Mu Ao Yun raised his head and looked at Tian Nuan Yu. This glance was not a fleeting one, but rather lingered for a full ten seconds.

  Tian Nuanyu seemed to feel Mu Ao Yun's gaze, and she also looked at Mu Ao Yun lightly. Her eyes had just touched Mu Ao Yun's face when Mu Ao Yun shifted his gaze away. Tian Nuanyu quickly shifted her gaze to look at Mu Yu Xun instead.

  Mu Yu Xing raised her head and stared at Tian Nuan Yu for a while before smiling and saying, "I find you more and more interesting."

  Tian Nuoyu's voice was calm as she said, "Life needs fun..."

  "Isn't it too dull without fun?" Tian Nuanyu only said half a sentence, Mu Yuxin already picked up the next sentence, and the two of them burst out laughing together.

  Mu Ao Yun's mouth also curled up with a faint smile.
