Chapter Thirty: Night of Passion
After dinner, the two strolled along Shanghai's spacious streets. Yin Shu held Gu Zhi Xin's hand tightly, and Gu Zhi Xin leaned closely against his side, gazing at the neon lights rising in the distance on the square, watching the children running past with their bright smiles, then turning back to look at the person beside her, with joy and happiness in every corner of her eyes. Gu Zhi Xin thought that if things could stay this way forever, it wouldn't be a bad thing either.
The two strolled back to the hotel where they were staying and took the elevator up to the 9th floor where their rooms were located. The two rooms were connected, and just as they were about to reach the door, Gu Zhen said goodnight and quickly swiped her card and slipped inside. Yin Shu had also taken out his card ready to enter his room, but caught a glimpse of someone rushing hastily out of the corner of his eye, and couldn't help but laugh. His eyes sparkled with mischief as he thought of teasing her.
Yin Shu swiftly dodged in front of the door that Gu Zhi Xin was about to close, propping it open with one hand and leaning against the door frame with a lazy smile on his face.
Gu Xixin stared at her in shock, someone spoke up: "Not inviting me to come in and sit down?"
"I'm tired and want to rest, I'll go back to my own room!"
"Hmph, women are indeed unpredictable. On the way here, you were leaning against me so tightly, but now it's as if I'm a ferocious beast that you're terrified of?!" He said, intentionally getting closer to Gu Xi Xin, "What, afraid I'll devour you whole?"
Gu Zhixin's concerns were exposed, but she stubbornly refused to admit it, "You're thinking too much!"
Yin Shu continued to put on a spoiled rich kid's face, "Hey, the night is long and boring, it's too early to sleep. I suddenly want to drink red wine, accompany me for a glass?" The playful expression made it clear that it wasn't just about drinking wine.
"If you want to drink wine, call the service desk yourself, I don't have red wine here."
Yin Shu approached Gu Zixin again, "What's the matter with being so nervous? It's just drinking wine. Are you afraid that you can't hold yourself back?"
Gu Xixin was so angry that she pushed him away and slammed the door shut with a loud bang, accompanied by the words "Are you crazy! What's wrong with you!"
Yin Shu gazed at the closed door in front of her, a deeper smile in her eyes, then hummed a little tune as she sauntered back to her own room.
In the room, Gu Xixin leaned against the door panel, her hand stroking her pounding heart, her face unnaturally flushed. She wasn't deaf to Yin Shuo's hints, and to be honest, she wasn't that conservative a person either. But she always thought that this kind of thing should be done when the time was ripe, and she didn't think it was time yet, nor did she want to force herself.
After calming down for a while, Gu Xixin changed out of her high heels and went to take a bath.
The next day, the two of them packed up and took a sightseeing elevator to head out to the Bund. After crossing the Huangpu River, they arrived at the Bund and headed straight for their destination, the Old City Temple.
Long had heard that the snacks in Chenghuang Temple were famous all over the world, Gu Zixin had been eager to try them. Entering the snack street of Chenghuang Temple, it was simply dazzling. Yin Shu turned his head to look at Gu Zixin and found that she was already excited with shining eyes.
Gu Xixin did not disappoint her own grand wishes, after having the pan-fried dumplings, braised pork belly, sweet fermented rice and deep-fried dough sticks, she still didn't give up. When she saw the long queue waiting to buy Nanxiang steamed buns in front of the famous Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant, Gu Xixin resolutely joined the crowd.
Standing in the crowd, Gu Xixin's eyes were also busy, tiptoeing and looking around everywhere. Whenever she saw something she wanted to eat, she would command Yin Shu to go buy it. In the end, almost all of the snacks were only taken a bite of before being stuffed into Yin Shu's hands. Yin Shu didn't get angry, instead smiling happily as he watched her eat.
Until they were stuffed and couldn't eat another bite, Gu Xixin decided to "liberate" themselves from the City God Temple. The two of them then strolled around several nearby famous scenic spots, and at dusk, found a place to casually grab a bite to eat before taking a leisurely walk along the Huangpu River.
The evening breeze swept across her cheek, Gu Zhi Xin leaned into Yin Shu's arms, savoring this rare leisure time, without the disturbance of the mundane world, without endless work, with beautiful scenery, delicious food, and loved ones by her side, Gu Zhi Xin felt like she was in heaven.
The sky gradually darkened, and the buildings on the Bund behind her also lit up under the neon lights. Couples around them were leaning against each other affectionately. Gu Xixin was attracted by such a beautiful scene and couldn't help but look around.
"Xīn Zhēn?" Yin Shù's voice softly sounded.
"Hmm?" Without turning back, he continued to appreciate the enchanting scenery. Yin Shu called out again in a soft voice, Gu Zhi Xin turned her head around, just about to ask him what's wrong, when someone suddenly covered her mouth.
Gu Xixin unconsciously responded to him, her body also leaning closer to him. Yin Shu wrapped his arms tightly around Gu Xixin's waist, fully devoting himself to this kiss, until both of them were a little out of breath, before reluctantly parting ways with each other.
Gu Xixin snuggled into Yin Shu's arms, and after a while, she heard Yin Shu's voice: "I really want to stay like this forever."
Gu Xixin looked up at him in confusion, but saw a thin layer of misty fog locked in Yin Shuming's bright eyes. "I have to leave tomorrow, there are many things waiting for me to deal with at the company."
Gu Xixin thought of the ringing phone during dinner, and Yin Shuo's increasingly furrowed eyebrows as he answered it, and understood how many things he had delayed to accompany her on this trip.
Thinking of this, the reluctant emotions slowly rose from the bottom of her heart, gradually flooding the entire room. Gu Xixin didn't speak, she just leaned closer to Yin Shu's arms.
The two lingered by the river for a while, until Gu Xixin felt the cool breeze blowing and they took the ferry back to their hotel in Pudong.
Perhaps it was because they knew that Yin Shuo would be leaving the next day, and they both felt a little reluctant to part with each other. On the way back, Gu Zhi Xin's enthusiasm was not high. The two walked silently all the way to the hotel, took the elevator up to their floor, and silently opened their respective room doors.
Just as Gu Zhi Xin opened the door to enter, Yin Shu let out a sigh and stretched out his hand to pull over Gu Zhi Xin who had lowered her head, tightly embracing her.
Gu Xixin leaned into Yin Shu's arms, feeling the silent breath for a long time. She had just made up her mind to say something when Yin Shu took a step ahead and quickly kissed her lips. "Goodnight, sleep early." Then he pushed her into the room and closed the door for her.
Gu Xixin lay on the sofa in her room, stroking her lips, where the scorching temperature still lingered. She thought about Yin Shuo, who was about to leave, and everything he had done for her. She thought about the genuine joy and satisfaction she had felt over the past two days. Gu Xixin thought that perhaps this trip to Shanghai needed a more perfect ending.
Having made up her mind, Gu Xixin stood up, adjusted her makeup in front of the mirror, then pushed open the door and stood in front of Yin Shu's room, took a deep breath, raised her hand and knocked on the door.
