Chapter 5 Transfer Student
Grade 7 (Class 1)
Staring at the sign stuck on the left side of the classroom door, Mu You stood there for a long time, yet still didn't take that short step out.
What should I do? After going in, how should I deal with those former classmates? Even more, what makes her a little nervous is that in the past few years, due to staying at home all year round and not going out, let alone junior high school classmates, even high school classmates have had few opportunities to meet again, so some people's names she may not be able to call out.
"Mu Yu, what are you doing standing at the door? Why don't you go in? Ah! What's wrong with your arm, is it injured?" Just as Mu Yu was about to lose her last bit of courage to step into the classroom, a clear voice made her retract her steps and firmly stepped out again. Turning around, she saw a tall and slender girl with short hair, whose face was filled with surprise at that moment.
Seeing this person, Mu You's eyes welled up with tears, almost unable to control her emotions.
Perhaps she can forget all her former classmates and friends, but the person in front of her is someone she will never be able to forget for a lifetime. She will always remember that during the days when her mother passed away, it was Cheng Ling who accompanied her through the most difficult times. Logically speaking, they were just junior high school classmates who had known each other for two years, and Cheng Ling didn't have to help her so much. But Cheng Ling's one sentence blocked all her refusals at that time, she said, "Muyou, I regard you as a friend."
She still doesn't understand why Cheng Ling would go to such great lengths to help her, but in this life, she is determined to find the answer.
Cheng Ling didn't understand that the person in front of her had already thought a thousand times, yet she still looked at him with a silly expression. Cheng Ling walked up and gave her a loud slap on the head, which finally brought back Mu You's consciousness.
"You haven't told me what's going on with the injury on your hand, and also, why didn't you answer my calls this whole summer vacation? I was thinking of going to your house to find you, but when I thought about that luxurious villa, my heart ached so much, so I didn't go." Looking at the thick bandage on Mu You's arm, Cheng Ling's eyes were filled with worry.
"I'm fine, I just accidentally fell down the stairs, and my phone also got damaged at that time. It just so happened that I needed to rest then, so that's why I didn't contact you." Mu You rubbed her forehead, looking very innocent.
In order to avoid worrying Cheng Ling more, she naturally had to downplay the situation, and she didn't lie either. She indeed fell down the stairs during that period, only it was in her past life.
"You're really something, how can you be so careless? You can trip on the stairs, and now look at you, Zhao Hong will die laughing when she sees you like this!" Cheng Ling looked at Mu Yu's calm face and rolled her eyes weakly.
Zhao Hong? Mu You's memories were awakened again in part under Cheng Ling's reminder.
This person is the class propaganda committee, looks pretty good, and can talk, gets along well everywhere, over time, it's hard to avoid some arrogance, but especially can't stand Mu You, for no other reason than her own family background being better than hers.
Thinking of this, Mu You felt a headache coming on, but she also couldn't do anything about it. Before coming to school, she had already made all sorts of mental preparations. There would definitely be a few people in class who would mock her, but what could she do? She couldn't just drop out because she was afraid of being teased, after all.
Along with the ringing of the preparatory bell, Mu You and Cheng Ling finally walked into the classroom.
The classmates in the class saw them coming, originally expressionless, but when they saw the bandage on Mu You's hand, they all flashed a hint of surprise. However, most people eventually returned to their calm demeanor, as expected. When Mu You scanned the seats and found Zhao Hong, he immediately revealed a smile of schadenfreude upon seeing her arm.
Most people in the class had arrived, leaving only a few seats. Fortunately, she met Cheng Ling, who was her deskmate at that time, otherwise she really didn't know where her seat was.
Just as I sat down with Cheng Ling, our class teacher Zhu Yong walked in.
This is a young female teacher, who has already had a son and a daughter, but still looks like a 17 or 18-year-old girl. The phrase "having poetry and books in one's belly, with an aura of elegance" is perfectly embodied in her.
"Alright, everyone be quiet for a moment. Now that we're all third-year junior high students, we should learn to be self-aware." Zhu Yong's voice was clear and carried a hint of severity, and in an instant, everyone fell silent.
Teacher Zhu is still so charismatic, Mu You smiled to herself in her heart, waiting for what she would say next.
"Next I'd like to introduce a new classmate who just transferred this year. Hopefully, everyone can get along well in the last year."
As soon as Zhu Yong finished speaking, a murmur of discontent immediately spread from below.
Mu You slightly furrowed her brow, this is the last year of junior high school, how can there still be people transferring schools, let alone in such an important year as third grade? The teaching progress and review methods are different for each school, won't they be worried that their own studies will fall behind after such a disruption?
"Wow......" Before Mu Yu could think more, the people around him let out a burst of exclamations. Mu Yu raised his eyes to look and was also slightly stunned.
A boy with a backpack walked in from the classroom door, tall and slender, wearing a pair of deep blue jeans on the bottom and a white shirt on top that was loosely draped over his body, giving off a natural and clean feeling.
What's most striking is the pair of oversized sunglasses he wears on his face, and even after entering the classroom, he doesn't take them off. Nevertheless, this doesn't stop some of the girls in class from getting restless.
Under the sunglasses, there is a high nose bridge and those pale pink lips. The skin is as white as jade, and the whole person exudes a quiet and comfortable atmosphere.
"This man is indeed one of the best in the world!"
It was Cheng Ling's words of admiration after sizing him up, "A rare find among humans?" Mu You couldn't help but take a few more glances at the boy upon hearing this phrase, then nodded in agreement.
It's just a pity that she is now twenty-five years old, so for men of this age, it's probably only pure appreciation...
"This classmate has an eye disease and cannot look directly at the sunlight, so the school specially allows him to wear sunglasses during class. I hope everyone will not have any objections." Zhu Yong saw the puzzled or curious eyes below, and said lightly: "Classmate, introduce yourself to everyone!"
The boy nodded slightly, walked to the middle of the podium facing everyone, still with that relaxed and comfortable demeanor, slowly opening his mouth to say: "My name is Ling Ran, I hope we can get along well in the future."
That voice was extremely pleasant to listen to, with a low and husky tone that was just entering the breaking stage, like a feather floating down onto the water's surface on a sunny day, creating some slight ripples, ticklish and warm.
Maybe it was just Moyou's illusion, but when Ling Ran said the last sentence "it was nice getting along with you", she felt his gaze shift towards her...
