Chapter 3: The Most Humble When I Like You (Thirty-Four)
The shopkeeper was about to speak, but Tangtang hurriedly and embarrassedly waved her hand, strongly declining: "No need! No need! I don't like wearing these!" As soon as the words left her mouth, she regretted it so much that she wanted to bite her tongue off. Wasn't saying she didn't like hair accessories indirectly implying that she didn't like the gift Gu Xianye had painstakingly prepared for her? Wouldn't that be equivalent to disappointing his kind intentions?
Tang sugar regretted it so much that he wanted to hit the wall, but fortunately Gu Xianyan just smiled tolerantly and insisted on buying the butterfly hair clip together tomorrow.
"Don't wait until tomorrow!" Tangtang didn't want to spend too much for the next day, so she hastily searched her pocket and handed 30 yuan to the shop owner. The shop owner looked at her strangely, smiled sympathetically, and only took 25 yuan from her.
Two people walked out of Xiangjiang Road, and the sky was already pitch black. Neon lights were flashing everywhere, with colorful lights overflowing.
Tang Sugar was in a good mood, but found that Gu Xiannian had a worried look on his face. He tentatively asked: "Are you worried about not being able to take out so much money tomorrow?"
Gu Xi nodded lightly.
"Then let's go back and tell the boss that we don't want that hairpin anymore!" After finishing speaking, she turned around in a hurry and ran away, but was stopped by Gu Xianian just in time.
"How can that be? Apologies should be sincere, right?" Tang Sugar was robbed of a sentence by him, but in her heart, it felt like she had eaten a lot of honey, sweet and sticky.
Before long, the two of them arrived at a fork in the road. Gu Xian saw that Tangtang was still following him and had to stop and remind her: "It's time for us to part ways, which way are you going?"
Sugar suddenly came to her senses, filled with regret in her heart. Why was this journey so short? In an instant, they would have to go their separate ways. Although she couldn't bear to part with him, she couldn't follow Gu Xian Ye back to his home either.
She walked alone in the direction of her home, her hands inserted into her pockets, touching the butterfly hair clip. Her mood suddenly cleared up, and she took out the butterfly hair clip, looking at it more and more fondly, loving it more and more. However, money is also lovely, such a hair clip can be bought for only five yuan on a street stall, but now it cost her several days' breakfast money, thinking about it makes her heart ache.
But thinking that this was what Gu Xian wanted to buy for her, she was overjoyed, even though the money was hers, but his intention was so sincere, who paid the bill didn't matter. Her face was filled with a sweet smile.
She suddenly pulled off the rubber band that tied her hair, used a hair clip to tie up a bunch of shiny hair, and felt like she had become much prettier. The head that was always lowered was raised high with pride, just short of shouting: Look! This bow hair clip was given to me by Gu Xianye!
All the way she kept touching the bow with her hand, worried that it would fall off one minute and worried that it was put on crooked the next.
As she walked to the narrow and long alley, Tang Sugar's heart involuntarily rose to her throat. The black-painted alley was rarely lit by a street lamp, but it didn't bring her a sense of security. Instead, the dim yellow light made the alley look very hazy, mysterious and unpredictable, making the timid Tang Sugar feel fearful and dare not move forward, standing at the entrance of the alley looking inside in dismay.
A figure slowly emerged from the end of a dimly lit alley, gradually approaching her. At the figure's feet were two small balls that shone with a yellow glow. What was it? Tangtang immediately broke out in a cold sweat and hastily hid herself in the shadows, her back pressed against the mottled, icy wall, not daring to move. Her two eyes stared at the approaching person in terror.
"What are you hiding for?" It was Xia Ye's voice, and before Tangtang could respond, she felt herself being lifted up by Xia Ye like an eagle picking up a chick from the darkness to under the streetlight.
He had a "I'm very angry and the consequences are severe" look, puffed up his face and stared at Tang Sugar: "It's almost nine o'clock and you're still wandering outside, do you want me to worry about you until I die?"
The sugary sweetness in her heart finally subsided, and she realized it was really late. She lowered her head apologetically, only to see Xiao Hei standing by her feet at some point, raising its round little head, with a pair of bright yellow eyes staring at her discontentedly.
As soon as it locked eyes with Tangtang, it was like a switch had been flipped, and it started meowing nonstop at her, like an old lady constantly scolding her.
Tang sugar felt himself in a precarious situation, with two legs on a summer night he didn't dare to provoke, his temper was quite terrifying, but the four-legged little black Tang sugar didn't take him seriously.
I'm afraid of the kitty I raised!
Tang sugar lifted one foot and gently kicked Xiao Hei, who was lying on the ground with his four legs in the air. This stirred up a hornet's nest, and Xiao Hei quickly rolled around on the ground with an extremely cute posture, got up, and barked even more fiercely at her. The sharp barking could be heard within a radius of ten miles, and what was previously a nagging had turned into a scolding. Tang sugar's ears were almost deafened by it.
One summer night, a big fire was burning in her ear: "You did something wrong and you still dare to kick Xiao Hei! Since you brought it back yesterday, it has been uncomfortable all the time. At six o'clock every day, it runs out by itself and waits for you here. You don't even say thank you, which is already very excessive. How can you kick him? Do you have any humanity?"
"I don't know!" Tang Sugar struggled to get rid of Xia Ye's hand, covering his ears with both hands so that Xia Ye couldn't grab them again. His hands were too heavy, and his ears felt hot from being pinched.
On a summer night, seeing her timid appearance, my heart softened immediately. I couldn't help but sigh and grabbed her backpack to put it on my own shoulder. Still angry with her, I deliberately pretended to be fierce and yelled at her: "Hurry up!"
Tang Tang obediently said "oh" and picked up the little black thing from the ground, pressed her face against the fluffy little head of the little black thing, and said very sincerely: "Sorry, I made you worry, did it hurt when I kicked you just now?"
The little black cat stretched out its paws and touched her face, meowed softly a few times, as if to say: silly girl, I'm not mad at you! Then it jumped down from her arms and ran far away.
"Xia Ye shouted loudly: 'Little Hei, come back quickly!' and chased forward for several steps before being stopped by Tang Sugar from behind: 'Don't chase after it, it's gone to its grandma's house.'"
His own cat knew him well, from the day he came to Tang Sugar's side, Xiao Hei Zi was very human-like. Now that he saw Tang Sugar was fine, he naturally wanted to hurry back and accompany his lonely grandma Luo.
Two people walked shoulder to shoulder on their way back, and Xia Ye started questioning her as soon as the summer night began: "What did you do after school? Why are you coming home so late?"
"Uh... a classmate asked me to go for a walk together." Tang Sugar's face turned red as she lied, luckily the night color covered her up.
"Will someone ask you out to play?" Xia Ye didn't believe it at all.
