Chapter 4 07. Cats Meow. Can you sing a song?

Chapter 4: 07. Cat's Meow. Can you sing a song?

"You're stupid!" Wang Xiaohu took a deep drag on his cigarette, "Anyone with eyes can see that Nai Jiu likes your brother. And you don't like her. She must want to make you lose face in front of Wei Chi, and at the same time boost their good impression of her."

"If it weren't for Maori taking the initiative to jump out, my dad would have been unable to get off the stage, and if you had let him go, you would have lost face in front of Wei Chi."

"What makes you so sure?" Meizi glared at him, her eyes almost spitting fire. If what he said was true, wouldn't she have been played for a fool?

"You're still not a woman, you don't even have the most basic intentions." Wang Xiaohu looked at her with some suspicion and patted her shoulder under Meow's angry gaze. "Alright, I'll definitely help you get this off your chest. Now, let's go on a date with Laozi."

Miao Ni sat at the back of Wang Xiaohu's motorcycle, her face stern, with a ball of anger suppressed in her heart. She thought carefully about the cause and effect of what had happened, but still couldn't believe it in the end.

"We're here." Wang Xiaohu took off his helmet and hung it on the motorcycle handlebars. "Come down, Kun Ge is waiting inside."

"Who is Brother Kun?" She blocked his way, "You're not thinking of selling me off, are you?"

"What are you talking about? Don't tell me you've never been to a bar before, Kun Ge doesn't even recognize you." He looked at Miao Ni with some suspicion, who was staring back at him seriously.

Wang Xiaohu couldn't help but pinch her cheek. "Looks like it's true. Never mind, just don't speak later and pretend to be my girlfriend, after all you're so pretty, just accompanying me is already giving me a lot of face."

The cat turned its face away and ignored him. As the sky gradually darkened, she couldn't help but think of Wei Chi. He should have finished cooking dinner by now and was probably painting by the window.

Before she left, she sent him a text message saying that she would stay in the classroom to do her homework and go back later.

Before I knew it, my feet had already stepped into the bar. The sound waves came surging in, on the stage, young bodies swaying to the rhythm of the music. At the counter, men and women sat face-to-face drinking. The lights were dim and hazy. The atmosphere was ambiguous and obscure.

The cat enjoys this kind of noisy music, she thinks this is a place where human desires are released.

"Kun Ge, this is my girlfriend." Wang Xiaohu pulled over the catkin, winking and nodding at the man sitting on the sofa.

The cat was afraid of hurting his face and didn't dare to expose him, so he simply pinched him hard.

That Kun Ge looked like he was in his twenties, he raised his wine glass to her and smiled crookedly: "Since you're here, sit down." Mao Ni didn't hesitate, chose a seat and sat down.

Kun Ge poured her a cup, Wang Xiao Hu wanted to take it for her, but she waved her hand and took a sip herself. It turned out that the taste of beer was like this - bitter and astringent, even making her tongue feel numb.

Just as she was sighing, her line of sight suddenly intruded upon a familiar figure. Naeju, how did she end up here? Her image was vastly different from before. A black lace camisole, with a smile that was overly friendly, and hugging a man, walked past in front of her.

Nai Jiu also clearly saw her, the awkwardness and astonishment on her face were evident. Miao Liang coldly averted her gaze, regardless of whether Wang Xiao Hu said was true or false, she just didn't want to see her.

"Hey kitty, can you sing?" Wang Xiaohu suddenly whispered in her ear, "If you can, let's go up together."

The cat hooked up the corner of its mouth and followed Wang Xiaohu onto the stage.

Her voice was not high, and she spoke generally calmly, but everywhere showed a coquetry that did not match her age. Wang Xiaohu completely stopped moving and making sounds behind him, listening to her singing in a daze.

He Kun, sitting below the stage, stared at her intently, and his eyes suddenly sparkled with light.

The song ended, applause erupted from the audience, cheers and shouts filled the air.

Before leaving, He Kun asked for her phone number and saved it after dialing. Then he sent him and Wang Xiaohu to the entrance of the bar, and the evening wind blew their hair into a mess.

"You sing very well," He Kun said, looking at her, "You can come here and play when you have nothing to do."

The cat smiled lazily and didn't say anything.

Motorcycles drove through the streets at night, warm yellow lights swaying in front of their eyes. Wang Xiaohu sang loudly with his hoarse voice, while Miao Ni constantly chewed gum to get rid of the smell of wine, hoping not to be discovered by Wei Chi.
