Chapter 6: Come on, let Big Brother hold one
When Jing Da called over, Miao Zhen was quietly sitting beside Liang Chen. Wei Chi had gone out to buy them breakfast.
The sun gradually became scorching hot, she chatted with Jing while walking to the window to pull up the curtains and adjusting the air conditioner to a suitable temperature.
"You said you want to take a leave?" Miao Ni was slightly surprised, "You don't seem to be injured? How can you be so fragile."
"No, it's just my family. They're worried about me and want me to rest for a few days." Jing smiled happily. "How are you? Are your injuries serious?"
"I'm fine now." The cat whispered in a low voice, afraid of waking up Liang Chen.
"What about Liang Chen?" Jing also lowered his voice, "How is he doing?"
"The doctor said he would wake up soon." The cat was somewhat puzzled, "Why are you speaking so softly? If nothing's wrong, I'll just hang up."
"Alright, hang up then. I'll go see you guys in a few days, bye." Her voice was as clear and crisp as ever, and Meow could almost imagine her smiling with narrowed eyes on the other end of the line, before hanging up the phone with a slight curve to her lips.
When she turned around, she found that Liang Chen had already woken up and was staring at her intently. Mao Ni was taken aback with joy, opening her mouth to speak, but before she could say anything, she saw him furrow his good-looking eyebrows.
"Your knee wound hasn't healed yet, why are you standing?"
The cat was stunned for a moment, and it turned out that he was checking his own injuries. This guy, his own wounds haven't healed yet, but he's already worried about others.
"I'm fine." She walked over and sat down on his bed with a smile, "On the contrary, it's great to see Liang Chen wake up now."
"Idiot." He turned his face away, deliberately not looking at her. She was so incapable of taking care of herself, and yet she could still laugh after encountering such a dangerous situation. Did she even have any sense of crisis?
"What did you say?" The cat curled up its lips, "Actually scolding your own boss as a fool. You've really gone bad." However, seeing that he woke up in a good mood, it didn't bother to argue with him anymore.
"Next time it's going to be like this." Liang Chen gazed at her coldly, and the atmosphere suddenly became heavy. Mao Ni also panicked, this guy, wouldn't he really get angry?
"I won't bother with you anymore." Liang Chen thought for half a day and couldn't think of anything that could threaten her, so in the end she could only squeeze out this sentence. After saying it, she also deliberately glanced at the cat several times, afraid that she would suddenly come up with something like "you don't care about me, I won't care about you" either.
"I was wrong!" The cat clasped its paws together and looked up at him with pleading eyes. "I promise I won't do it again."
Li Zhen glanced at her and although he didn't respond, his expression had obviously eased up a lot.
"I knew it was the best time! Come, let me give you a hug." As he spoke, he opened his arms and pounced on him. Liang Chen's face suddenly turned red, and he quickly sat up in bed, but Zhang was too fast, and he ended up hugging air, bumping his chin on the bed frame with a loud thud. He couldn't help but squat beside the bed, rubbing his sore spot.
"It's okay." Liang Chen leaned forward, gently brushing aside her hand and lifting up her chin. The cat-like girl looked at him quietly, thinking that Liang Chen's eyes were really beautiful, like carefully carved black jade stones, with long eyelashes she had never seen before.
Li Chen originally carefully lifted the cat's chin, but unexpectedly stroked the soft lips of the cat with his fingers, and suddenly froze, remembering that night she got drunk...
"What's wrong?" The cat suddenly stood up from the ground, "I think I'm fine now, hehe." After a slight pause, it let out a breath, and the atmosphere seemed to relax a bit.
"Hmm... nothing... it's nothing." Liang Chen's face turned red, her gaze slightly evasive as she looked away, probably unaware of what had just crossed her mind.
