Chapter 4 13. Thank you for dinner

Chapter 4 13. Thank you for dinner

  The room became empty again.

Wei Chi sat down beside her bed, his hand supporting his forehead, and his flaxen bangs covering his eyes.

I didn't expect things would turn out like this.

Her rebellious personality made him feel fear for the first time.

Her cold war with him has been going on for too long, from their first quarrel to Naiqiu's confession in the office.

Recalling that confession, he rejected Nijou and then Nijou kissed him... actually it didn't happen at all.

Nai Jiu just wrapped her arms around his neck, without even touching his face, and tearfully implored him, "Please, don't push me away in front of everyone."

Maintained the posture stiffly for several seconds like this.

And was she heartbroken about it? Looking over the crowd and seeing her expression, it was so indifferent that it worried people.

Right after that, seeing her walk so close with Wang Xiaohu every day, he really couldn't help but pay attention.

This afternoon, he just felt that being alone was too quiet and couldn't help but want to go sit in her room for a bit.

I saw a book on the table and flipped through it casually, only to find that it was a diary. What's more shocking is that she actually did such things.

He suddenly felt extremely disappointed and even heartbroken for her.

She would actually do such a thing.

He doesn't understand her at all.

At this time, a half sheet of paper floated down from the windowsill and was blown to his side by the wind. He picked it up, dense and familiar handwriting.

The cat came out of the house and ran for half a day, only to find that she had nowhere to go except home and school. She called Wang Xiaohu and sat on the ground, watching the passersby until the sun slowly set.

"You miss me so soon." Wang Xiaohu got off his motorcycle and ran in front of her, saying with a grin.

"I'm hungry. Let's go eat something." The cat stood up from the ground, speaking somewhat weakly.

"What's wrong?" Wang Xiaohu kept asking on the motorcycle. "It can't be that you didn't do well on the exam, right? Don't worry about this kind of thing at all!"

The cat didn't make a sound, listening to him talk to himself for a long time. The bare branches of the trees by the road were stiffly swaying in the wind. The north wind cut across his face, stinging like sand.

Wang Xiaohu stopped his motorcycle and let out a big sneeze. He sniffled: "This weather is enough to freeze someone to death."

The sky has completely darkened, like a heavy curtain being pulled down.

Miao Ni and Wang Xiaohu sat face to face, the beef noodles that had just been served were still steaming hot. She picked up her chopsticks and pushed the coriander to one side.

Wang Xiaohu ate a few mouthfuls of noodles and suddenly felt that his whole body had warmed up. He looked at the cat, which still had a sloppy and inattentive expression.

"What's wrong with you today?" he couldn't help but ask again, "You came out and didn't say a word. I'm your boyfriend, if something is on your mind just tell me. I'll definitely take care of it for you." Seeing that Nekomata didn't respond, he continued to speak by himself. "Just like this time with Nayuki's matter, wasn't it resolved smoothly?"

He patted her head, "So, don't be downhearted."

The cat's paws paused for a moment on the edge of the bowl, finished drinking the last mouthful of soup, licked its mouth, and put down the bowl and chopsticks.

Then stared at Wang Xiaohu without blinking.

"What's wrong?" He stared at her blankly, "Didn't eat enough?"

Miao Ni shook her head: "Wang Xiaohu, thank you for dinner."

"Hehe, what else can we talk about between us..." The words were abruptly cut off.

"Let's break up, Wang Xiaohu." Meizi said seriously to him, with a confused and pitch-black look in her eyes.

The words of gratitude that had yet to be expressed were stuck in his throat, like a sharp blade, piercing him so much that tears almost flowed out.

"Damn it! He slapped the table and stood up, "You're messing with me!"

She lifted her face and silently looked at him, then pushed the stool away and walked out. The cold wind hit her body, and a chill suddenly shot up her spine.

He chased her out the door, blocking her path, his face full of anxious apology: "I'm sorry, Miao Ni. I didn't mean to say that. Don't go. Don't break up with me."

The cat stood in front of him, looking at him: "Do you know why I want to break up with you?"
