Chapter 25 Lips and Fish Bones

Chapter 25 Lips and Fish Bones

Since Charlotte fell into the water, the most lively days were spent by Liszt. Except for the initial discomfort, Charlotte slowly became normal, and they all guessed that Charlotte was shocked and therefore had some memory loss. However, everything got better, and Charlotte's increasing enthusiasm made Hans and others overjoyed. Only Mary would occasionally reveal a worried expression, and she told her mother about her concerns. Her mother warned her not to say it out loud, so Mary could only suppress her thoughts.

  "Hi~ Good morning! Dear."

Charlotte went out to Edward's house and met Liszt waiting outside the door. She greeted him warmly and walked lightly in front of Liszt.

"Baby~ It's such a wonderful thing to be able to see you every morning!"

Lysander burst out with a big smile, he stretched his left cheek over, Charlotte gave a loud smack on it.

"There's nothing more pleasant than waiting for you, come on, I'll lift you onto the horse."

They went to Edward's house together, passing through Tanner Street, where people on the road greeted them in a friendly manner, and young children said some encouraging words. People sincerely blessed them as a pair of angels sent by God.

Lissten smiled all the way, and Charlotte occasionally asked some funny questions, which he didn't mind. The two chatted and laughed and soon arrived at Edward's castle.

"Charlotte, Sally took your basin away."

  "Alright, got it."

The maids suddenly changed their attitude towards Charlotte, mainly because after Charlotte was rescued, she didn't pursue anyone, and they also didn't dare to mention it for fear of reminding her. Another reason is that they felt guilty for doing something wrong. After the female ghost possessed Charlotte's body, these maids became friendly with her.

"Sally wants to go to Michelle's tailor shop, I'm going with her. Lissten, can you go home by yourself at noon?"

After finishing, Charlotte looked at Lysander with a pitiful expression, her two hands still grasping the hem of his clothes. Lysander secretly smiled in his heart, but on the surface he pretended to be depressed.

"Alas! Miss Charlotte has abandoned me for a pretty dress! I, Liszt, am not even worth a garment in Miss Charlotte's heart! Alas!"

Charlotte wanted to explain, two big eyes staring at him seriously, Liszt paused for a moment and looked back at Charlotte with equal seriousness.

"But I still love you, Charlotte, I love you."

Not far from the palace, there was a separate building that looked like a church on the outside but had the layout of a private residence. This building was originally a church and was even the famous St. Petersburg Cathedral, which eventually became Ariel's hiding place. The grand cathedral was majestic and solemn, with its bell tower broadcasting time to people every day. Although the church had changed hands, the person ringing the bell was still the ugly Morse.

After dinner, the Duke of Windsor got up and left after seeing his mother fall asleep. Windsor had a habit of reading before bed, no matter where he was, as long as there were books, he had to read a few pages before falling asleep. Ariel divided the largest room in the town for Windsor as a study, which was originally used by the town's pastor for preaching.

The book in her hand hadn't been turned over a few times, Windsor was somewhat absent-minded today. There was a knock at the door. Windsor's hand holding the page tightened, and a corner of the book was torn off and thrown to the ground. Windsor covered up the book and shouted.

  "Come in!"

With a creak, Sen emerged from behind the door and locked it from the inside. He strode to Windsor's desk, his expression somewhat agitated. Sen only wore a mask in front of outsiders; there was no need for one here.

  "Windsor, good news!"

The Duke of Windsor felt a sense of relief wash over him, his tense back relaxing, and before he could even get a word in edgewise, Somerset was off and running, talking a mile a minute.

"Unbelievable! It's a miracle! Miss Charlotte is truly one of a kind, she actually managed to escape from the gluttonous snake's mouth, and so, so unscathed! It's as if God himself has blessed her!"

"So you're saying that the person you met at Edward's house was indeed Charlotte?"

Seeing Windsor's lukewarm reaction, Sen found it a bit strange. When the person went missing, she cried like a ghost behind his back, but now that he's been found, she seems nonchalant, what a psycho!

"I followed her and found out she went to Mary's house, who else could it be if not Charlotte?"

  "Didn't you startle her?"

"Of course, I know you want to give her a surprise, ah ~ I understand!"

A faint blue vein on Windsor's forehead twitched a few times.

"Sen, aren't you very idle? Do you want me to arrange something for you to do?"

"Alright, alright, let's get down to business,"

They were speaking when the bell on the roof rang out, a total of eleven strokes, and the sound was loud and clear.

"Did you hear? Right under our noses every day, this Mo Xi is quite formidable."

Windsor frowned, if it was really a thief at home, the harm would be extraordinary.

"Him? How much do you know?"

"Moses was born extremely ugly and was heartlessly abandoned by his parents. He was picked up from the river and raised by Moses, so their relationship can be described as father-son."

  "Ugly beyond compare,"

Windsor let out a soft snort and had a way to deal with Morse.

"The uglier a person is, the more frantic they are about beauty. Sen, within half a month at most, I want to know all of Moses' plans."

With a wave of his hand, the whirlwind birds hovering above the river's surface dispersed. Ero gazed at the turbulent water, pondering to himself. The crystal ball had shown that the person was right here. Could it be that the woman trapped underwater was Charlotte? She wasn't dead yet, and the Water Ghost had switched her out. Having figured this out, Ero's eyes gleamed with excitement. He thought smugly, This time, Windsor, I'll see how you escape!

Observing the water surface again, Ero planned where to dive in. Suddenly, the water surface rippled and something underwater was surging upwards. Ero hastily retreated to hide behind a tree by the riverbank.

At first Charlotte had hoped that someone would discover the fake Charlotte, but several days passed without any commotion here, and Charlotte guessed that the imposter had fooled everyone.

No longer naively waiting for others to save her, Charlotte prepares to overcome the difficulties herself and regain freedom. The first hurdle is this water snake entwined around her body. After repeated movements, Charlotte finally exposes seven inches of the snake's body. Looking at its soft claws, Charlotte abandons the idea of killing it with some disappointment.

She soon thought of a second plan, singing a song to the snake.

Charlotte had heard that snakes liked music, so she started singing to the snake every day, trying to win it over as a fan. The plan worked, and after three days, the snake no longer restricted Charlotte's movements, but only if she sang to it; otherwise, it would show its dissatisfaction by baring its poisonous fangs. During her precious outdoor time, Charlotte explored the exit of this water dungeon.

After holding 32 concerts with the snake, Charlotte finally found the mechanism to open the prison door. After getting rid of the snake fans, Charlotte didn't have time to be happy for long before she discovered that she still couldn't get out - there was another stone gate outside the water dungeon!

Charlotte sang a sad song with a sorrowful heart, her light and pleasant voice carrying a faint sadness beyond the stone gate.

"Hey! Little girl, are you stuck?"

Someone! Charlotte looked excitedly at the window on the stone gate, a pair of round big eyes staring at her. When Charlotte took a closer look, she was shocked to find that there were only eyeballs without any whites, not human!

  "How can you talk again,"

"What did you say? My ears are not good, speak louder."

  "Yes, I am trapped."

Charlotte was thus given her freedom by the carp, and grasping the great tail of the fish she slowly rose until she saw the big trees on the riverbank.

Charlotte didn't leave immediately after landing on the shore; she turned around and bid farewell to the pigfish.

"Thank you, Piggy Fish! How can I thank you?"

The pig fish was afraid of being rejected, it quickly said,

"Little girl, I need your help, can you give me a kiss?"

Charlotte was surprised that the pufferfish had this request, after all, she hadn't seen a female ghost's appearance before she fainted, and it couldn't be said to be beautiful. Charlotte still agreed with it, glancing at the pufferfish's lips covered in sharp spikes.

"Of course, it's only right. I must thank you properly, one kiss is not enough, if possible, I'd also like to give you a hug!"

The pig fish was delighted, rolling frantically in the water. Charlotte saw it and couldn't help but laugh out loud. Ero, hiding behind a tree, heard this and thought to himself: "You're laughing now, but there will be a time when you'll cry."

Looking back and forth, the pigfish's mouth had no gaps at all, it was all sharp thorns. Charlotte couldn't help but resign herself to kissing the thorns, the pigfish closed its eyes.

"Huh? Where's the fish? Where did the fish go?"
