Chapter Seventy-Four
Suddenly, his waist was tightened and he was tightly hugged in the fox's arms.
"What... what do you want?"
I asked, but the fox still chose to ignore me, without even giving me a glance.
I don't know how he did it, but suddenly his body jumped up and we were standing on the rooftop of a residential building, also bringing down several tiles that fell to the ground.
"We'll meet again someday."
The fox let out a loud laugh and swooped down, pulling me into a dark alley. The loose hair on my forehead danced wildly in the wind, covering my eyes and making it hard to see. The fox flew faster and faster, the wind grew stronger, and its hair whipped across my face, causing an intense itch on the bridge of my nose that made me want to scratch it fiercely.
Inside the deep alley, it was so dark that one couldn't see their own fingers, but still, several small green lights could be seen darting back and forth in the alley, like a lost little elf unable to find its way out.
I turned back to look, but didn't see anyone chasing after us. I turned back to ask the fox: "Does Tang Renjie also want the Demon-Suppressing Talisman?"
The hand placed on my waist suddenly tightened, I let out a painful groan, the fox heard it and relaxed a bit, muttering: "Hmm."
Looking at him like this, he seems to have a lot of worries, which doesn't seem like the stinky fox I had in mind.
"What about you? Do you also want a demon-suppressing charm?" I hesitated for a moment before asking him.
He sprang up to the top of a pagoda, standing at its summit, and put me somewhat at ease. He turned his head around, looking at me with a worried face, as if he wanted to say something but hesitated, appearing very embarrassed.
"Hehe....."
I didn't expect that seeing him like this now would make me feel uncomfortable, so I forced a smile and said, "Is this question difficult to answer? If you think it's hard, then let's just pretend I never asked."
I turned away, avoiding his gaze, and looked into the distance, a vast expanse of darkness.
"Hahaha..."
I was suffocating with anger, but the fox burst out laughing beside me.
"It's not that I couldn't answer, it's just that I didn't know how to start explaining it clearly to the thirteenth generation, so I didn't respond."
"Excuse."
I don't know whether I should feel sad about his attitude or the answer he's about to give, but my heart inexplicably feels a pang of suffocation.
"The thirteenth generation is so sad it's about to cry."
The fox leaned forward, his hands grasping my face, forcing me to turn in his direction. His eyes sparkled with a rippling wave of water, as if they were filled with tears.
"You're the one who's crying."
I was extremely annoyed and shouted at him, raising my hand to push him, but both of my arms were suddenly grasped tightly by him.
"Don't move."
He chuckled and his grip on my arm tightened, causing a sharp pain in the flesh of my upper arm.
"Let me go quickly."
I shouted loudly, but the fox didn't react at all. The fox's eyes hinted for me to look down, I listened and looked down, my head suddenly felt dizzy. Oh my god, when did I climb so high? My body leaned forward and fell into his arms, hugging him tightly, refusing to let go.
The fox demon wrapped me in his arms and said with a smile, "You were still pushing me away just now, how come you're suddenly so proactive and throwing yourself into my arms? This change is really surprising to me, but I like it very much."
"You, you, you... You did it on purpose."
Looking at his triumphant smile, I knew I had fallen into his trap again.
