Chapter Fifty-two
It seems this fox is not just ill-tempered, but also quite paranoid.
"Let me help you open it!"
I was just about to reach out and take the bread from him, to help him open it, but unexpectedly, the fox withdrew his arm again, hiding the bread in his bosom, looking at me with an unpleasant gaze.
"What's wrong with you now?"
Seeing him like this, I also inexplicably ignited a wave of anger in my heart. It seems that the mind of this fox is indeed difficult to guess. Now it's not helping him open up, nor is it not opening up.
"Are you going to give it to me or not? If you don't want to give it to me, then forget it. Just watch me eat on my own."
After finishing speaking, I lowered my head and prepared to take out a bread from my backpack. Just as my hand was about to reach in, the fox suddenly stretched out its two front paws and snatched away the backpack that was in my arms.
"Who says I don't want to eat anymore? I want to do it myself and don't need your help."
I don't know what kind of fire he had, but he suddenly threw the bread I handed him to the ground and started rummaging through his backpack. After half a day's search, all he could find were some snacks wrapped in packaging paper. He looked at them, put them in his mouth and bit them, but still didn't open them.
I couldn't help but secretly laugh at the sight, it seemed that this fox was quite unfamiliar with food packaged in plastic bags in the new century, and as long as it was this type of thing, I reckon he had no idea how to get started.
"Let me come!"
I smiled and reached out, ready to take the strawberry bread from his hand, but he dodged away. The sly fox furrowed his brow, looking at me with a guarded expression.
"Thirteenth generation, what do you want to do? Are you trying to snatch delicious food from Ben's hands?"
"No."
I shook my head sincerely at the suspicious fox, laughing and explaining: "I just want to help you, take out the food from the bag, no other meaning."
"Is that really all you mean?" The fox looked at me with a skeptical face, scanning me up and down with his eyes, shook his head and said: "Looking at your smiling face, I reckon you're not thinking of anything good in your heart right now. Are you plotting to harm me, or what?"
"Don't be ridiculous, you're not some kind of big shot. Even if you were a big deal, I, Xia Qinghe, don't have the leisure to plot against you."
It's already the 21st century, and hearing the word "murder" used in this world is quite laughable.
Considering he's a thousand-year-old fox who has only been in this new century for a few days, I'm too lazy to bother him with these trivial matters.
I bowed my head and took out a bread from my backpack, carefully tearing off the wrapping paper on top. I looked up to see the fox looking at the bread in my hand with a curious expression. When he saw me looking at him, his eyebrows rose again, and he let out a disdainful snort.
"What's wrong with you? Haven't you ever seen a handsome man like me before?"
The fox-like girl smiled complacently, shaking her shoulder-length silver hair. Hearing the sound of screams coming from the corridor outside the classroom, she blinked her peach-blossom eyes self-contentedly again, and a super-strong electric wave was released in the classroom.
"Be quiet, be quiet, the students in the back, please keep your voices down, the ones in the front can't hear the lesson."
The math teacher's voice sounded like a duck, but unfortunately, not many students took him seriously. The classroom was quiet for only a few seconds before it became lively again.
As for the fox's peach blossom path, I am truly speechless.
"Yes, I've never seen one before, never seen a 'pretty boy' like you."
The last three words I squeezed out from between my teeth like a fox, and after saying them, I rushed forward and took a big bite of the bread.
