Chapter 42
The fox pouted and said: "I think they look too disgusting, if I see them tonight, how can I have an appetite to eat tomorrow?"
Seeing him being so selfish and self-centered, I retorted: "What about me? I also need to eat tomorrow!"
"That's your problem, I don't care about you."
He shook his sleeves a few times, stomped his feet there, and said anxiously on his face: "Are you going or not?"
"I won't go."
I resolutely and flatly refused.
The fox's fists were clenched and stretched towards my face, just as I thought he was going to hit the girl, he gritted his teeth and stretched out his fists again.
Then touched my face, slender fingers transparent fingernails on my face scratching.
"What...what do you want to do?"
I'm afraid of slowly drifting away from him, worried that he will suddenly get angry and scratch my face with his fingernails.
The fox's fingers lightly scratched, lowering its voice, with a threatening face: "If you don't go and count now, after a while, if there's anything strange attached to your body, I won't save you."
"What a strange thing... How is this possible? As the descendant of a demon-slaying master, I should still be more than enough to deal with these few mountain goblins. With their level of cultivation, how can they possibly get on my body?"
"Really?"
He smiled with a sly face, and I was originally somewhat confident, but being stared at by him with such eyes, I also felt more and more timid.
The fox spirit smiled and said: "Then you just stay here alone, I'll go over there to chat with them and ask how many ghosts have come."
As I saw him take a step forward and prepare to leave, I immediately reached out and grabbed his sleeve, saying in a low voice: "Are you really going over there to talk to those ghosts?"
He furrowed his brow, snatched the flashlight from my hand, and sneered: "How could that be? I just brought them over in the past, let them all come find you, so you don't even need to help me count, just eliminate them directly."
I knew he was a master of saying good things but doing bad ones, I hurried to stop him, the thousand-year-old fox had already floated into that group of lonely ghosts and wild demons in an instant.
"Hey, hey, hey, Fox, hurry back, I'll count, I'll count, just hurry back."
As I watched, one by one, the green-glowing ghosts floated towards me. I felt a chill run down my spine as nearly ten of them gathered in front of me. Turning my head to look around, I saw four on my left side and two more behind the trees. When I turned back to look at those behind me, there were seven instead of eight. The green-glowing ghosts surrounding me grew in number, almost encircling me completely.
The fox stood behind the group of ghosts, with its hands clasped together and a look of watching the show on its face.
"I won't bother you anymore, just remember to use the sword to stab the ghost's butt and they won't move, I'll be waiting for you over there."
As he spoke, one of them jumped onto a tree trunk and sat down.
Although I was very afraid in my heart, however, I didn't want to ask him again.
I drew the soft sword from my waist and looked around, counting roughly about thirty ghosts. Even if I could kill one with a single move, it would still take several hours to finish them off.
Damn it, I almost forgot, didn't I bring a few talismans with me?
I swiftly pulled out the talisman from my pocket, slashed my finger with a sword, and dripped blood onto it. In an instant, the talisman ignited and I threw it into the crowd of ghosts.
