Chapter 3

  The wind lifted the hem of her skirt, and a hint of a smile brushed across the corner of my mouth.

  "Are you that little boy?" Memories of diligent searching seemed to leave only one person who could be the cold man standing in front of me now.

  "It seems you still remember me!" said Kōya, his hands in the pockets of his school uniform pants, as he turned around.

  I couldn't see his expression, but I heard a faint resentment in his words.

  "I saved you." My calm tone showed how magnanimous I was, but in fact, I had already cursed him out in my heart. What kind of person is this? If it weren't for me saving him back then, he would have met his maker by now! And yet, he dares to treat the one who saved his life with such an attitude.

  "Hmph, it seems you want me to repay you!" Cold Dark Night's shoulders slightly trembled as he spoke with a tone full of disdain.

  "If you don't leave now, you'll be late for class. This lesson is taught by the notorious female devil math teacher, and being one second late can get you dragged out..." The cold, dark voice disappeared at the rooftop door.

  "Hey... wait for me! I don't know the way back to the classroom..." I didn't want to be bullied by some female demon teacher, so I quickly chased after her.
